Hosts are Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan Jason Miller 22-4-0 vs. Georges St. Pierre 7-1-0 Round 1: Joe Rogan climbs on Miller's nuts for the whole fight and it gets highly annoying. Pierre dominates the early goings with a takedown and winning the striking battle. At about 2:30 it finally heads to the ground with a Pierre takedown. They battle for position until Pierre stands up. Miller tries a Shawn Michaels kip up and nearly gets decapitated. Pierre hits a punch and some kicks on the downed Miller. Pierre's drawn some blood with all the punches. Pierre goes for a kimura but Miller escapes. They stand up in the clinch and Pierre gets another takedown. They exchange kicks and then Pierre gets another takedown. They battle over position to end the round. An easy 10-9 score for Pierre. Round 2: They exchange some punches and then clinch. Pierre gets Miller on the ground after about a minute. Miller goes from a half guard to a full guard as they fight over position. Pierre hits a few elbows as the continue to battle. Pierre finally gets a mount with 1:30 left. Miller rolls out and it's standing again. They clinch and go to the ground again. Pierre hits a big shot followed by some elbows. Pierre gets an armbar but runs out of time. Another easy 10-9 round for Pierre. Round 3: A little jabbing until Pierre gets a takedown. They battle over position with Miller keeping a half guard. Miller gets a full guard but takes some nasty elbows. Pierre ground and pounds Miller for a few minutes. Pierre goes for an armbar but Miller escapes. Miller grabs side control and hits a few knees to the body. Pierre rolls him over and hits several shots to end the round. Easy 10-9 for Pierre. Judges: They agree with me and all score it 30-27. Highly entertaining match despite how one sided it was. 1 for 1. WINNER: Georges St. Pierre by unanimous decision Travis Lutter 7-1-0 vs. Matt Lindland 13-3-0 Lutter seemed to be a big pick by a lot of fans beforehand. You see 9 out of 10 MMA fans are retards. Matt Lindland is a very boring fighter so they equal boring with being bad in the ring. So of course since Lindland is boring he's always an underground on MMA boards. Round 1: Almost an immediate clinch to start the fight. Matt gets a nice looking takedown on Lutter. They battle for position until Lutter gets a mount. Lutter hits some shots until Matt rolls out. They stand and clinch. Matt hits a nice knee. They exchange shots until Lutter gets a takedown. They fight over position and then stand up. Matt hits some shots in the clinch to end the round. Hard round to score but I'd give Matt the 10-9 edge. Round 2: Matt gets a quick takedown. They fight over position while Matt hits some punches and elbows. Matt gets a guillotine and Lutter tags at 3:14. Boring fight but that's Matt Lindland for you. 1 for 2. WINNER: Matt Lindland by submission 3:14 into Rd. 2 UFC Welterweight Title Match: Frank Trigg 13-2-0 vs. Matt Hughes © 38-4-0 Round 1: Trigg being the piece of trash that he is knees Hughes in the balls. The ref for some reason doesn't stop it as Trigg goes right after Hughes. Trigg pounds Hughes on the ground and then goes for a rear naked choke. Hughes escapes, gives Trigg a nasty Oklahoma Slam, pounds him on the ground and then taps him with a rear naked choke at 4:05 like the little bitch Trigg is. 2 for 3. WINNER AND STILL CHAMP: Matt Hughes by submission 4:05 into Rd. 1 I'm going to rant on what an asshole Trigg is for a minute. He talks nothing but trash about Hughes after getting destroyed in their first fight and said Hughes was lucky. So all you hear going into this one is how Trigg has reinvented himself. So he comes in and uses about every dirty trick he can, there was eye gouging after the ball shot. He's also kneed other fighters in the balls. And then he loses the exact same way that he did before. It didn't even take him 5 minutes to make excuses for his loss. Now he's blaming the ref for not stopping the fight saying it's all favoritism to Hughes. So FUCK YOU Trigg, you'll never beat Hughes and I hope you never fight in the UFC again because you're nothing but a whiney little bitch. If you do get another title fight with Hughes I'll put money on you losing to the same rear naked choke again in the 1st Round. Babalu 24-5-0 vs. Travis Wiuff 22-3-0 Round 1: Early clinch and a lot of dirty boxing. Wiuff gets a takedown. They stand up and Babalu gets a takedown. Wiuff goes into the guard and takes several shots from Babalu. They stand up and the fight stops to Wiuff can put his mouthpiece back in. Restart and Babalu gets a quick takedown. Babalu hits several shots on the ground. Babalu goes for a guillotine but Wiuff escapes. Wiuff makes the exact same mistake with the guillotine. Babalu ground and pounds Wiuff for awhile. They stand up and clinch to end the round. 10-9 for Babalu. Round 2: Wiuff gets a takedown but gets caught in an armbar and taps at 0:23. Ok but kind of boring and eventless 2 for 4. WINNER: Babalu by submission 0:23 into Rd. 2 UFC Light Heavyweight Title Match: Chuck Liddell 14-3-0 vs. Randy Couture © 13-6-0 Round 1: They feel each other out with jabs to start. Randy gets the first good shot in and it's dirty boxing time. Couture comes away having trouble with his right eye. The doctor checks him out and says he's good to go. Randy comes after Liddell but takes a nasty right. Liddell hits some ground shots and it's all over at 2:03. You'll see whining about the eye thing and just understand those people are idiots. There were no thumbs to the eye in the Tito Ortiz fight, the Vernon White fight and it's highly doubtful that there was a thumb in this eye. Even if there was it had zero effect on the KO. Disappointing but this was the UFC's Hogan/Andre. 3 for 5. WINNER AND NEW CHAMP: Chuck Liddell by KO 2:03 into Rd. 1 Due to there being an hour left they'll start showing the Prelim fights to fill out the three hours. Joe Riggs 24-4-0 vs. Ivan Salaverry 10-3-1 Round 1: Long feeling out period as they exchange some weak shots. Clinch and Riggs hits some knees. To the ground as Salaverry gets into the guard. Salaverry tries to get away but takes several shots. Back to the guard as Riggs hits several more shots. Riggs dives in but gets a nasty kick and taps to a triangle choke at 2:21. 4 for 6. WINNER: Ivan Salaverry by submission 2:21 into Rd. 1 Patrick Cote 5-1-0 vs. Joe Doerksen 27-6-0 Round 1: Some nice shots into a clinch. Joe gets a nice takedown. Joe gets Cote's back but can't get the choke. Cote finally escapes and hits some shots. Both standing now. Cote hits some nice shots but gets taken down by Joe. The rest of the round is spent in the guard and Joe going for an armbar. Easy 10-9 for Joe. Round 2: Cote dominates some striking during the early going. Joe gets a takedown but it's back to standing. They clinch until Joe gets a takedown. Cote escapes a triangle choke then fights off an armbar. Cote hits some shots from Joe's guard and half guard. Back to standing. Cote hits a nice series of knees. Joe goes into the guard. Long battle for position until they stand up. Joe gets a takedown to end the round. Hard round to score but Joe's three takedowns convince me to give him the round. 10-9 Joe. Round 3: Cote rocks Joe with some shots and tries to finish with elbows. Joe manages to recover and get into the guard. Cote hits several more elbows. Joe gets his back and makes him tap to a rear naked choke at 2:35. 5 for 7. WINNER: Joe Doerksen by submission 2:35 into Rd. 3 Overall: A pretty good show. No blow away matches but nothing really bad either. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. |

No, they work like old pro wrestling shows do where they have standby matches in case they end early. |

I'll probably get it. Bonnar/Hogar, Tanner/Franklin will be good, the Heavyweight Title match should be a slugfest and Nick Diaz always puts on a good show. |
