Please stop fucking killing white characters so you can put a minority in their old role. Either develop original minority characters or stop. It rings really hollow when you try to create diversity that way. More Cyborgs and fewer black Blue Beetles. |

The new Blue Beetle is black? I missed that.... you're forcing me to re-read Infinite CRISIS again, aren't you? But yeah.... Firestorm, Mr. Terrific and the new Spectre are good examples (although, I think the current Mr. Terif is an improvement). Comics have also been doing it with women for years: Jade as Green Lantern, Star-spangled Kid/Stargirl, Manhunter, Dr. Fate, etc. |

I actually like the new Mr. Terrific too. This is just another area where Marvel has always been the superior company. They have a very diverse cast of characters and they've never come across as trying too hard in the process. |

Ignoring Bill Foster as "Black Goliath", of course :) The Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel is another argument, but for the past decade she's been known as "Photon" and now "Pulsar". She's also always been completely separate from the orginal Captain Marvel. But I see your point.. their diversity characters, for the most part, are their own person. James Rhodes is borderline...since he sat in for Iron Man for a few years before they decided to toss him into his own superhero role (FWIW, DC copied the idea with Green Lantern and John Stewart). That was one of the things that turned me on to Marvel around 83...I thought: "whoa! Iron man's BLACK?! cool!". Dug that scene in Secret Wars where Rhodey takes off his armor and says to Reed Richards: "betcha' never thought there was a black man under the armor, huh?" Reed responds with something like: "I just thought there was a man". Green Arrow Connor Hawke is another of DC's "black legacy character"...although nowadays he's written completely wrong and his skin tone seems to vary with every appearance. |

I never minded Rhodes much because his role was always kind of as an Iron Man stand in. He at least did his own thing for the most part. |

Wait, was Rhodes War Machine? And man, I really hate that they brought back Blue Beetle already. They just killed him off. What's the point of killing of Ted Kord if someone takes his place the second he's gone? |

Because they killed him off in order to bring in the new character. |
