NEW Saturday Night
October 7th 2006

Hey, I just got back from the NEW taping. President Rowe and Professor Plague weren't on commentary for some reason, I guess they had to be somewhere.

Dark matches:
Jamie Noble and Ron Killings defeated Kid Kash and Rene Dupree
Shark Boy defeated Xavier
The Dudley Boyz and Chris Sabin and Johnny Devine defeated America's Most Wanted and the Basham Brothers

Main show:

Rob Van Dam defeated Kevin Steen in a by the numbers match. The PTL guys are playing tweeners now. Carlito attacked RVD after the match, I guess they are facing each other at Resistance. (73/68/78)

Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer came out to the ring and challenged Mick Foley and Rhino to a street fight at Resistance. Foley came out and mocked Siaki for not being hardcore. This lead to a sneak attack by Justin Credible, which lead to...

Mick Foley squashed Justin Credible, bloodying him up in the process, which seemed to scare the hell out of Siaki, who was watching at ringside. Foley continued to make fun of Siaki after the match. (73/76/69)

Rey Mysterio came to the ring and cut a promo against Chris Jericho. Mysterio said that Jericho's grasp on the NEW Championship is over and that he's going to kick Jericho's ass at Clash of the Champions.

Jushin Liger and Tajiri defeated D'Lo Brown and Scott Taylor to retain the NEW Tag Team Championship. The match kicked all types of ass. I was surprised to see Scott Taylor, better known as Scotty 2 Hotty. He's grown quite popular since debuting for Mid-Atlantic. (83/79/88)

Chris Jericho did a promo backstage, where he encountered JBL about their match tonight against Rey Mysterio and a mystery partner. Jericho suspected that JBL knew who Mysterio's partner was going to be, but JBL denied it. They don't trust each other.

Rey Mysterio came to the ring and announced that his partner was none other than... the Big Show!

Rey Mysterio and Big Show defeated Chris Jericho and JBL. This match was really good too. Big Show chokeslammed JBL straight to hell, allowing Mysterio to pin him with a frog splash. JBL and Jericho exchanged blows after the match. (89/92/85)

Fun show!

NEW Saturday Night
October 14th 2006

Hey folks, I just got back from the NEW tv taping. It was fun, as always, with some fun stuff with J.R. Ryder before the show. He did an interview where it seemed he was trying out a religious freak gimmick. It got decent crowd reactions, so it'll be interesting to see if this character debuts on TV or not.

James Gibson defeated Doug Basham at 10:22 to retain the Boston Harbor Championship. This match was surprisingly awesome, with both men putting on a dazzling display of wrestling technique. Gibson eventually put Basham away with the Trailer Hitch. (88/84/91)

After the match, Gibson took a microphone and demanded some high profile opponents for his title defenses. Eric Bischoff came out and granted Gibson's wishes, making tonight's main event Chris Jericho vs. Rhino vs. Carlito vs. Rob Van Dam for a shot at the Boston Harbor Championship at Resistance.

In a really shocking segment, Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer came out to the ring. Siaki went on a wild rant, complaining about how nobody thinks he is hardcore enough to hang with Rhino and Mick Foley in the upcoming street fight at Resistance. Siaki says that he may not be hardcore enough right now, but by October 27th, he sure as hell will be. Siaki then removes his shirt, leans against the ropes, and orders Dreamer to hit him with a kendo stick as hard as he can. Dreamer, while reluctant, grants the request and hits Siaki's back with a sickening crack. Siaki then takes the microphone, and requests "Thank you sir, may I have another." This goes on for a few minutes as Dreamer keeps cracking the kendo stick over Siaki's back, bloodying him up in the process. The crowd is clearly uncomfortable watching this. Afterwards Siaki takes the mic again and says "Okay, you sons of bitches... none of you will ever doubt my toughness again... Thank you, Tommy." (79%)

D'Lo Brown defeated Jushin Liger at 6:13 thanks to some botched interference by Tajiri. The match was kind of a let down, as they did not really click together like I hoped they would. Even though D'Lo won, he threw a fit after the match, angered by Tajiri's involvement. President Rowe then announced right there that this war between Tajiri and D'Lo has gone on long enough, and at Resistance, they will finally settle their score one on one. (79/77/81)

Backstage, Carlito and the PTL Invaders are hanging out. Carlito reminds the group to focus on their goal, to make NEW the promotion they all hoped that PTL would be. Carlito says that Rob Van Dam should be by their side, and not acting as Eric Bischoff's servant boy. Carlito says while it was he who betrayed NEW at Manchester Mayhem, RVD is the true traitor, and that he will kick RVD's ass at Resistance. (79%)

Kid Kash and America's Most Wanted defeated Ron Killings and the Dudley Boyz at 7:30. Kash picked up the win over Killings when he hit him in the head with the ring bell. The match itself was kind of plodding, with it only really picking up when Kash and Killings were the legal men. As it turns out, Kash will be facing Killings one on one at Resistance, and AMW will face the Dudleyz again, as the Dudleyz will be putting their spot at Clash of the Champions on the line. (77/78/76)

Backstage, Ron Killings is throwing things around in anger to what happened in his match just a few minutes ago. Eric Bischoff had security tackle Killings and remove him from the building. (87%)

Chris Sabin defeated Hardcore Holly at 3:56. The match was pretty lackluster, as Sabin dominated it. After the match, the PTL Invaders ran in and beat up Sabin. Matt Sydal played leader this time, and bloodied up Sabin with a fork. The PTL Invaders posed over the fallen Sabin until Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark ran out to make the save. (72/69/75)

Chris Jericho defeated Rob Van Dam, Carlito, and Rhino at 12:45 to become the #1 Contender to the Boston Harbor Championship. Both Rey Mysterio and Edge were on commentary during the match. Mysterio was keeping an eye on Jericho, while Edge was supporting RVD. Jericho ended up picking up the win by rolling up RVD after he ate a GORE from Rhino. After the match, JBL came through the crowd and attacked Rey Mysterio from behind. Edge stood by and watched as JBL ended up powerbombing Mysterio through the announce table to close the show. (89/91/86)

Next week:
Chris Hero, Matt Sydal, and Adam Pearce vs. Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark

James Gibson and D'Lo Brown vs. Jushin Liger and Tajiri

Rey Mysterio defends the NEW Championship against Edge

Overall: 82

NEW Saturday Night
October 21st 2006

I really love how NEW is confined to New England. It means I get to travel around and do these reports for all the shows! And the arenas are really filling up too, which is exciting. I am thrilled to be a wrestling fan again!

Jushin Liger and Tajiri defeated D'Lo Brown and James Gibson to retain the NEW Tag Team Championship! Tajiri actually pinned Brown this time, because Chris Jericho interfered and kept Gibson distracted. This was the last time Brown could challenge for the tag titles since he was pinned this time, and his partner wasn't. Gibson and Jericho got into a pretty heated brawl during this time too, which stole the focus from Brown/Tajiri. I hope the feud ends at Resistance. (87/80/93)

Carlito and the PTL Invaders came out to the ring. Carlito cut another promo trying to talk Rob Van Dam into joining them. Carlito claims that RVD cannot trust Eric Bischoff, and that he should come to the group that he can count on. Carlito says that even though he wants RVD in their ranks, he will not go easy on him at Resistance. (78%)

Chris Hero, Matt Sydal, and Adam Pearce defeated Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark when Sydal pinned Devine. The match was pretty good, though mostly heatless as these PTL guys are still trying to get over. Devine was out for revenge because the PTL guys hurt Chris Sabin last week, but Sydal ended up suplexing Devine off the top turnbuckle and getting the pin. Sydal looks good heading into his big pay-per-view match against Sabin. (70/57/84)

Backstage, Edge cut a promo. He was angry that he did not get a match for Resistance, but it wouldn't matter after tonight. He claims he will take the NEW Championship from Rey Mysterio, will defend it against JBL at Resistance, and proudly walk into Clash of the Champions as the NEW Champ. Edge says that as NEW Champion he will proudly represent this territory, and will work hard to support Bischoff's goals of cleansing NEW of the PTL Invaders. (78%)

Sonny Siaki defeated the debuting David Young in a pretty good, competitive match. Siaki sold for Young for a bit, but made a convincing comeback and put Young away with the Siakalypse. Siaki then took a kendo stick from Tommy Dreamer, who was in his corner, and did an unnecessary beat-down on Young. This prompted Mick Foley and Rhino to come out and stop Siaki from going nuts. (72/62/81)

Mick Foley cut an interview in the ring, criticizing Sonny Siaki. Foley says that there is more to being hardcore than simply attacking people with weapons. Foley says that you have to take the beating of your life, and even if you don't win, you have to be able to walk out of the arena with your head held up high. Foley does not believe that Siaki is capable of taking such a thrashing, and he promises that in their street fight at Resistance, that even if Siaki wins, he will be leaving the arena in a stretcher. (90%)

Rey Mysterio defeated Edge to retain the NEW Championship. The match was really good, with a hot crowd. Mysterio cleanly pinned Edge after a West Coast Pop. Afterwards, Edge threw a temper tantrum, and speared the referee. JBL also attempted to ambush Mysterio, but it backfired. Mysterio saw JBL running to the ring, so Mysterio performed a suicide dive through the ropes and took JBL off his feet. The show ended with Mysterio posing with the NEW Championship. (85/87/84)

Another fun show from the good folks at NEW. I am really looking forward to Resistance.

Final card for Resistance:

Quote:

NEW Championship:
Rey Mysterio © vs. JBL

Boston Harbor Championship:
James Gibson © vs. Chris Jericho

Street Fight:
Mick Foley and Rhino vs. Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer

The Dudley Boyz vs. America's Most Wanted

Kid Kash vs. Ron Killings

Rob Van Dam vs. Carlito

D'Lo Brown vs. Tajiri

Chris Sabin vs. Matt Sydal

RESISTANCE
October 27th 2006

The opening video is set to Breaking Benjamin’s “Breath.” The video contains footage of JBL and Mysterio brawling, and attacking each other. It breaks to clips of Tommy Dreamer toughening up Sonny Siaki with a kendo stick, along with shots of Rhino and Dreamer brawling. The final section of the clip shows James Gibson retaining his Boston Harbor Championship on numerous occasions, interspersed with Chris Jericho frustrated over his losing the NEW Championship. Those are the three big matches tonight, folks.

The pyro explodes, the music plays, and President Rowe and Professor Plague welcome us to the third New England Wrestling pay-per-view, Resistance!

Rowe: The Dudley Boyz have earned the right to represent NEW at the Clash of the Champions on Sunday in a four way tag team match. However, they have agreed to put that right on the line tonight against AMW!

Plague: Do you really want the Dudleyz of all people representing NEW in front of the entire wrestling world? It’s embarrassing, for the sake of this company I hope AMW wins this one.

Match One: Dudley Boyz vs. America's Most Wanted

This is the usual great match that these two teams have together. The Dudleyz dominate in the early going, but AMW use some heel trickery to get themselves back in the game. James Storm succeeds in hand-cuffing Bubba Dudley to the ring ropes, allowing AMW to double team Devon for a good while. When all hope looks to be lost, Bubba breaks the hand-cuffs and cleans house on AMW. Bubba manages to hit the Bubba Bomb on Chris Harris, but walks into a superkick from James Storm. Devon tags himself in and makes the save. The Dudleyz hit the 3D on Storm for the victory at 12:33!

Winners: The Dudley Boyz, **** (87/81/92)

Rowe: The Dudleyz are still on their way to the Clash of the Champions! I have all the faith in the world that they will pick up the victory in the four-way tag team war!

Plague: They had damn well better, or else make them pay.

Rowe: We are now being joined at the commentary desk by NEW General Manager Eric Bischoff. What brings you down here, Eric?

Bischoff: I came here to watch Chris Sabin hammer in a nail in PTL’s coffin. I’ll be out here later for the Carlito/RVD match too.

Rowe: Wonderful.

Bischoff: PTL is a cancer to NEW, why won’t you admit it? Every week I sit back there and listen to you go on about how they are adding so much to our shows! Are you insane?

Rowe: They are adding to the shows! See all those “PTL” signs and merchandise in the audience? They are catching on!

Match Two: Chris Sabin vs. Matt Sydal

Sabin and Sydal probably should have opened this show, as the crowd was still pumped up from the opener, so this one fell flat to them. For some reason, these two high fliers do their best to put on a mat based, technical wrestling match, something that Matt Sydal should probably not do at this point in his career. Sabin and Sydal go through the motions, clearly not trying to steal the show or anything, which inspires a “boring” chant at an early part in the match. Sabin manages to put Sydal away with the Cradle Suplex at 6:44, causing Eric Bischoff to shout with glee at the commentator’s booth.

Winner: Chris Sabin, **1/4 (65/45/84)

Bischoff: See, that’s how we do it in NEW!

Rowe: Oh shut up, Eric. Not that long ago you were trashing Sabin for being a “CSW superstar.” Why can’t you just accept that the PTL guys have NEW contracts and are a part of our roster now?

Bischoff: Rowe, are you mad? Do you hear them rally together each and every week? They are trying to turn us into PTL! As president of this company, you should be concerned about this! I’ll be back later.

Rowe: Is that a threat?

Plague: Aaaaaaaaaaaanyways, up next is a match I’ve been looking forward to. The heroic Kid Kash takes on the criminal, Ron Killings!

Rowe: WHAT! Plague, where are you getting your facts? Kid Kash has been spewing racial BS for weeks now, and you sit there and say something like that with a straight face?

Match Three: Ron Killings vs. Kid Kash

Before the match, Kid Kash is readying to say some more offensive things on the microphone, but Killings charges into the ring and attacks before any more hate can be uttered. The early goings of the match consists of Killings beating the holy hell out of Kash, until, of course, Kash hits a blind low blow. Kash works the back of Killings for several minutes, and uses some fun rest holds, including a drawn out abdominal stretch. Killings stages a comeback, hitting Kash with a series of spin kicks, and sets him up for the scissors kick. Kash plays possum, and hits Killings with a spinebuster. Kash goes for a cover, but it’s no good. Killings fights back, and even hits a moonsault at one point. Killings is ready to go for the scissors kick again, but the returning Rene Dupree runs in and clocks Killings with the ring bell from the apron. The referee missed it, but sees Kash hitting Killings with the Dead Level and covering him for the victory at 14:21!

Winner: Kid Kash, *** (83/83/82)

Rowe: Killings had this match won, until Rene Dupree made an unexpected return and cost him the match!

Plague: You don’t suppose Dupree is still mad about the whole “French vanilla” ordeal?

Rowe: I can’t be sure, but it seems that the Killings/Dupree rivalry has picked up again. And just look at Kid Kash, he is celebrating as if he just won the World Championship!

Plague: Speaking of personal rivalries, do they get any hotter than the next match?

Rowe: It’s unlikely. D’Lo Brown and Yoshiro Tajiri started out as partners in NEW. They were scheduled to challenge America’s Most Wanted for the NEW Tag Team Championship two months ago at Summerslam. Instead, Tajiri had his friend, Jushin Liger, take out D’Lo minutes before the match. Liger took Tajiri’s place in the match, and they won the NEW Tag Team belts. Since then, D’Lo has been granted repeated shots at Tajiri and Liger’s championship, so long as he was not the one pinned. D’Lo attempted with numerous partners, but they all fell to Tajiri’s green mist and Liger’s technical prowess. Finally, Tajiri picked up a pinfall on D’Lo this last week on Saturday Night. This is it folks. D’Lo vs. Tajiri. One on one. No excuses, let the better man win.

Match Four: D'Lo Brown vs. Tajiri

D’Lo and Tajiri enter the ring and they do a stare down. They go for a test of strength, but Tajiri takes a minute and spews the green mist into D’Lo’s face! The referee is outraged and he disqualifies Tajiri at 0:30! Tajiri is jumping around and celebrating, but D’Lo grabs the referee and demands that the match continue. After a few seconds of debating, the referee decides to grant D’Lo’s wish and the match is back on! Tajiri takes advantage of D’Lo’s limited vision for the early going. Tajiri tries to break D’Lo with some of the stiffest kicks he has ever thrown. Tajiri corners D’Lo and puts him into the tarantula, and only breaks the hold at the four count. D’Lo is bleeding from the mouth now, as he is suffering internal injuries from all the kicks he has taken to the gut. Tajiri targets D’Lo’s head, as he is ready to make the death blow. However, D’Lo grabs Tajiri by the leg and spins him to the ground. D’Lo makes a comeback, pummeling Tajiri with all the anger in him. D’Lo violently Irish Whips Tajiri into the turnbuckles and hits a big drop kick. Tajiri is in a daze! D’Lo heads to the top rope and hits the Lo Down on Tajiri! D’Lo gets the cover for the victory at 11:23!

Winner: D’Lo Brown, ***1/2 (83/79/87)

Rowe: Finally, D’Lo has gotten his vengeance on Tajiri!

Plague: Emphasis on “finally.”

Rowe: Quiet, you. Coming up next is the street fight! This match came about because Sonny Siaki wants to prove that he is hardcore.

Plague: He already convinced me a couple of weeks ago. He had Tommy Dreamer repeatedly nail him in the back with the kendo stick! It was nauseating!

Rowe: And likewise, Mick Foley resets that he lost to Dreamer in the Hell in a Cell at Summerslam! It was not the loss that hurt Foley, it was that Dreamer followed up the victory by becoming Siaki’s toadie.

Plague: Once again, I fail to see what Foley is so pissed about.

Match Five: Mick Foley and Rhino vs. Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer (Street Fight)

Needless to say, this match is basically one big garbage brawl. Dreamer and Rhino end up brawling around the entrance ramp while Siaki and Foley stick to the ringside area. Dreamer is armed with his kendo stick, and takes some swings at Rhino, who keeps dodging them. Dreamer finally connects with a shot at Rhino’s face. They are up on the stage by this point. Rhino recovers and hits Dreamer with a vicious GORE right into the set. Rhino goes for a cover, but a referee monitoring the action reminds him that this is a street fight, so pinfalls must take place in the ring. Meanwhile, in the ring, Siaki and Foley are brawling all over the place. Siaki is keeping up with Foley much better than he did last month at Manchester Mayhem. Siaki hits Foley with the Siakalypse, but decides he does not want to make a cover, he is too hardcore for that. Siaki goes to ringside and pulls out a bag of tricks from under the ring. First, Siaki pulls out a bowling ball, and tries to roll it towards Foley’s genitals. It connects, and Foley thrashes about in pain! Siaki then pulls out a steel chair wrapped in barbed wire. Siaki hits Foley in the back with it a few times before dropping it. Siaki goes back to his bag and pulls out a smaller bag containing hundreds of thumb tacks! Siaki spreads the tacks across a corner of the ring and gets ready to give Foley the Siakalypse right onto them! Foley counters and drops Siaki back first onto the tacks! Siaki leaps up in terror, and his back is almost completely covered in thumb tacks! Foley takes the opportunity to go for the mandible claw, but Siaki rolls out of the ring in time to avoid it. Meanwhile, Rhino and Dreamer are still brawling on the stage. Their battle ends when they both fall off and land on a production desk. They land on some electronics as well, as sparks fly. EMTs come out to attend to both of them, as the match is down to just Foley and Siaki now. Siaki, while recovering at ringside, sets up a table. He angrily grabs a bottle of lighter fluid from under the ring and douses the table with it. Siaki then slides the table into the ring. Foley is back up and tries to attack the injured Siaki. Siaki kicks Foley in the balls and lights the table on fire. Siaki goes to suplex Foley into the burning table, but Foley counters. Foley lifts up Siaki to drop him gut first on the table, but Siaki counters that and successfully suplexes Foley into the burning table! The flames go out in the process, but Foley is in a world of pain. Siaki covers Foley and it gets the 1……2……3! Siaki pinned Foley at 13:24!

Winners: Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer, ***3/4 (85/89/81)

Rowe: Holy s(bleep)t! You may not like Sonny Siaki or what he’s about, but tonight he proved just how hardcore he could be!

Plague: That was glorious indeed, I think this just might be my favorite match of the year. I wonder if Siaki and Foley will be able to participate in the invitational battle royal at the Clash of the Champions now.

Rowe: That was a violent, disturbing war. I think all four men involved are going to need extensive medical care tonight. Well, up next is going to be one for the record books. Rey Mysterio defends the NEW Championship against JBL!

Match Six: Rey Mysterio © vs. John Bradshaw Layfield (NEW World Championship)

The pacing of this match is much faster than expected. Mysterio comes flying out of the gate as he overwhelms JBL with his high speed offense. In the course of two minutes, JBL eats up three hurricanranas and two head scissor takedowns. JBL seems to be in a daze, so Mysterio goes for the West Coast Pop. JBL catches Mysterio in mid-air and powerbombs him! JBL goes for the cover and it’s 1…..2…..NO! Mysterio kicked out! JBL puts Mysterio in a chin-lock to wear him down. Mysterio valiantly fights his way out of the rest hold, and bounces off the ropes. JBL catches Mysterio in a sleeper instead, and Mysterio must valiantly fight out again. Mysterio escapes, but JBL clubs away at Mysterio’s back! JBL whips Mysterio into the ropes and attempts the Clothesline from Hell, but Mysterio ducks, springboards off the ropes, and catches JBL with a flying hurricanrana! JBL slumps over onto the ring ropes, allowing Mysterio to perform the 619, followed by the West Coast Pop for the victory at 8:59!

Winner and STILL the NEW Champion: Rey Mysterio, ***1/4 (85/89/81)

Rowe: What a glorious title defense by Rey Mysterio! I don’t care if he is from the Mid-Atlantic territory, he has been a wonderful NEW Champion!

Plague: How could this happen! JBL should be the NEW Champion right now, not Rey Mysterio! Speaking of terrible things, PTL has another match up next.

Rowe: That’s right, PTL’s Carlito takes on Eric Bischoff’s hand chosen opponent, Rob Van Dam. And it seems that we’re being joined once again by Eric Bischoff.

Bischoff: I’m here to watch RVD do the right thing and kick Carlito’s ass. I’m testing RVD’s loyalty tonight, I know he used to be a part of PTL when they were their own territory, so I am here to make sure that RVD does not screw up.

At that, Edge’s music plays. The Rated R Superstar comes down to the commentator’s booth.

Edge: Eric, how the hell is it that NEW is having a pay-per-view tonight, and I’m not on the card?

Bischoff: Edge, I gave you the chance, if you had beaten Rey Mysterio last Saturday it would have been you facing JBL tonight.

Edge: Then you should have had a backup plan! You should have added me to another match! I am sick of your excuses, Eric. I am a main eventer and I deserve to be wrestling main eventers on each and every NEW pay-per-view! I will not continue to be your errand boy if I am continually screwed like this!

Bischoff: You have my word that you will be on next month’s Methodical Mayhem pay-per-view, and it will be in a significant spot on the card. Trust me. Now let’s sick back and watch RVD do the right thing.

Match Seven: Rob Van Dam vs. Carlito

Awesomeness does not even begin to describe this match. Carlito and RVD really click together and the result is a thrilling matchup. It had a danger of becoming a spot-fest in the early going, with RVD and Carlito both utilizing the ropes to perform some risky spots, but it ends up becoming technically sound after Carlito nails RVD with a back-cracker. Carlito and RVD exchange some wrestling holds for several minutes before RVD kicks Carlito in the throat. RVD goes for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Carlito raises his knees, and RVD is devastated by the counter. Carlito goes for a cover, but RVD kicks out. RVD recovers and tries to hit Carlito with a running crossbody, but Carlito ducks and RVD collides with the referee! At this point, Eric Bischoff orders Edge to run in and make sure that Carlito is finished with. Edge storms the ring and goes to spear Carlito, but Carlito dodges and Edge takes out RVD on accident! Edge is beside himself, and is easily removed from the ring by Carlito. Carlito covers RVD as the ref is coming to, and it’s 1……2……3! Carlito has defeated RVD at 10:55!

Winner: Carlito, ****1/4 (91/88/94)

Bischoff: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED! EDGE!

Rowe: That was a big win for PTL!

Bischoff and Plague: SHUT THE HELL UP!

Rowe: Well, it was!

Back in the ring, Edge tries to apologize to RVD, who only pushes him away and storms off. There appears to be trouble in the Bischoff party.

Rowe: What a night this has been. I mean, seriously, I could not be prouder of New England Wrestling.

Plague: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Rowe: But coming up next is our main event of the evening. Chris Jericho. James Gibson. The Boston Harbor Championship. Chris Jericho has accused James Gibson of trying to overshadow him, saying that Gibson and the Boston Harbor title should stick to the midcard. Tonight, Gibson will be tested unlike ever before. Can Gibson hold on to his coveted Boston Harbor title, or will the egomaniacal Chris Jericho add the Boston Harbor title to his resume.

Match Eight: James Gibson © vs. Chris Jericho (Boston Harbor Championship)

Gibson and Jericho stand nose to nose in the ring, apparently exchanging threats. The tension builds for a few seconds until they finally tie up. They battle for position, but it’s a stalemate and they separate. Both men back off into their corners to regroup. They tie up again. This time Jericho takes the advantage and scoop slams Gibson to the mat. Gibson is back on his feet immediately, but Jericho slaps the taste out of Gibson’s mouth. Gibson does not take this kindly and returns the favor. They tie up a third time, only now it’s more violent. Gibson drives his knee into Jericho’s gut. After some softening, Gibson lifts up Jericho into a stalling vertical suplex. Gibson has Jericho in the air for several seconds before finally dropping him. Gibson goes for a cover and it’s 1…….2……NO! Gibson goes into a reverse head lock, but Jericho powers out of it. Jericho throws the first chop of the match, and Gibson sells it like death. Jericho pushes Gibson back into the corner and throws another chop. Gibson yells out in pain, but it emboldens him. Gibson throws Jericho into the turnbuckle and hits him with a chop of his own. Jericho slaps Gibson again, prompting Gibson to fire away with a series of brutal chops. Jericho’s chest is bleeding now from the chopping. Gibson catches Jericho and delivers a bridge suplex, into a cover attempt. The referee counts 1…..2…..NO! Gibson goes for another suplex, but Jericho counters and hits a fallaway slam on Gibson! Jericho goes for a cocky pin, which Gibson immediately kicks out of. Gibson dives to his feet and head butts Jericho! Gibson charges, but Jericho grabs him by the tights and throws him through the ring ropes! Gibson lands outside the ring with a sickening thud. Jericho slingshots himself over the ropes and lands right on top of Gibson. Jericho lifts Gibson to his feet and chops him repeatedly. Gibson is in a daze, but ducks a particularly nasty chop attempt by Jericho. The chop misses and connects with the ring post! Jericho sells the injury like death. Gibson lifts up Jericho and charges him into the ring post as well. Jericho is on the ground. Gibson briefly enters the ring to break the count, but is back on the offense quickly. Gibson lifts Jericho into the air and drops him chest first onto the barricade. Jericho is out. Gibson rolls Jericho into the ring and goes for the cover, and it’s 1…….2…….2.99999……NO! Jericho kicked out again. Gibson is beside himself! Jericho takes advantage of Gibson’s anger by catching him off guard into a roll-up attempt. Jericho gets the 1……2……NO! They both leap to their feet, but Jericho drops Gibson with an enziguri! Instead of going for the cover, Jericho locks Gibson into the Walls of Jericho! Gibson is in huge trouble, and desperately fights his way towards the ropes. Right as Gibson is about to get to the ropes, Jericho manages to drag him back into the center of the ring. Gibson tries his hardest again, and fights his way back towards the ropes. Gibson makes it, and Jericho is forced to break the hold. Jericho wastes some time arguing with the referee, allowing Gibson to catch his breath. Before he knows it, Jericho is caught in the trailer hitch by Gibson! They are clearly centered in the middle of the ring, and it looks like Jericho is about to tap out when… the bell rings! What? It appears that the thirty minute time limit has expired! This match is a draw at 30:00!

Still the Boston Harbor Champion by result of a draw: James Gibson, ***** (96/92/100)

Rowe: What an amazing match that was! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a technical masterpiece like that before in my life!

Plague: Jericho got screwed by the time limit!

Rowe: If anything, Jericho got saved by the time limit. You and everyone else knows that Jericho was seconds away from tapping out!

Back in the ring, Jericho is offering a handshake to Gibson. Gibson reluctantly accepts the handshake. This was foolish because Jericho clotheslines Gibson to the mat as a result. Jericho blows his nose on Gibson and drops the Boston Harbor Championship belt onto his fallen opponent. Jericho exits the arena it a chorus of boos.

Rowe: Chris Jericho makes me sick! Jericho just wrestled one of the greatest matches I’ve ever seen and follows it up with that! I’m disgusted!

Plague: And I am entertained.

Rowe: Thank you folks for ordering Resistance. We’ll see you on Sunday, when the NWA presents the Clash of the Champions, and we’ll see you next month when NEW presents Methodical Madness! On behalf of everyone here at New England Wrestling, good night!

We got a 1.73 buy rate for 'Resistance'!
The attendance was 23543 people.
We made $4325000 from pay-per-view revenue.
We made $941720 from ticket sales.

NEW Saturday Night
October 28th 2006

I just got back from the NEW Saturday Night taping, held in Worcester, MA this week. I had a great time, as always, though I got to meet Danny Basham and Brian Kendrick after the show, both were real class acts.

Eric Bischoff came out to the ring for an interview. He was livid and ranted about how he has "lost control of NEW." He says tonight he will correct his mistakes, with his two biggest ones being that he has allowed PTL to flourish and that Rey Mysterio is still the NEW Champion. He vows to bring both mistakes to an end tonight. He makes a big ten man tag match for after the break, pitting the PTL team of Carlito, Adam Pearce, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Frankie Kazarian against Bischoff's hand chosen group of Rob Van Dam, Edge, America's Most Wanted, and his new bodyguard, Hardcore Holly! Also, tonight he has made a match for Rey Mysterio. He will defend the NEW Championship against a man who has been on a serious roll lately: Kid Kash. (79%)

Carlito, Adam Pearce, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Frankie Kazarian defeated Rob Van Dam, Edge, America's Most Wanted, and Hardcore Holly at 8:34 when Carlito rolled up Chris Harris for the victory. As soon as the match was over, Mid-Atlantic's Les Bohemians stormed the ring to beat down PTL! Bischoff's men backed off immediately, letting Les Bohemians do whatever they wished. Chris Masters beat down Carlito, trapping him in the Masterlock until he passed out. Chris Hero ran in to make a save, but Chavo Guerrero stopped him, and bloodied him with a chain. Meanwhile, Kevin Steen became the victim of Sugar Shane Helms and the Nightmare on Helms Street. Precious Lucy and Melina took turns slapping the taste out of Matt Sydal, who was held in place by Mikey Whipwreck. Meanwhile, Kazarian also became the victim to Chavo's chain. With PTL on the ground and out, Les Bohemians proceed to take out some paint and brushes. Melina writes "love" on the back of Carlito. Precious Lucy writes "truth" on the back of Kevin Steen. And finally, Shane Helms writes "beauty" on the back of Matt Sydal. Things do not look good for PTL heading into their big ten man tag against Les Bohemians at Clash of the Champions! (74/67/81)

Backstage, Rey Mysterio cut a promo talking about how much being the NEW Champion has meant to him. Mysterio says that even if he loses the title tonight, it will all have been worth it. Kid Kash comes in and gets in Mysterio's face. Kash tells him that he'll kick his worthless Mexican ass tonight, though Kash isn't looking forward to performing in front of an arena full of Mexicans tomorrow night at the Clash of the Champions. This sets Mysterio off, and they have a short brawl before they are seperated by agents. (79%)

Chris Jericho defeated D'Lo Brown by disqualification at 5:34 when James Gibson stormed into the ring and attacked Jericho. Gibson goes to ram Jericho's head into the ring post, when Jericho punches Gibson right in the balls. Gibson falls to the mat, and Jericho takes a steal chair and proceeds to beat the hell out of Gibson with it. Jericho finishes it with "good luck in your match at the Clash, bitch." and leaves Gibson in the ring as a bloody mess. (89/92/83)

Backstage, John Bradshaw Layfield rants about his loss to Rey Mysterio last night at Resistance. JBL says it was the worst night of his entire career, one that he will not stand for. However, JBL says it is high time he got his priorities back together. His intentions will become clear before the night is over. (76%)

The Basham Brothers defeated Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark at 7:23 when JBL interferred! This lead to a three on two beat-down. JBL's intentions are absolutely clear now: JBL is putting The Cabinet back together! It looks like JBL is strengthening himself for another run at the NEW Championship! (73/58/89)

Rey Mysterio defeated Kid Kash to retain the NEW World Championship at 14:23! There were distractions during the match because both Ron Killings and Chris Jericho were on commentary. They didn't get involved until after the match, fortunately, as Mysterio cleanly defeated Kash with the West Coast Pop. Afterwards, Killings attacked Kash, but Rene Dupree ran in for the save. Elsewhere, Jericho attacked Mysterio with the same, blood stained steel chair that he used to take out Gibson earlier tonight. Jericho connects with the chair on Mysterio, and stands over him. Tomorrow night, it will be Jericho vs. Mysterio for the title at the Clash of the Champions! (89/84/95)

And that's a wrap! The Clash of the Champions should be an awesome show! Here's the NEW portion of the card:

Quote:

NWA World Heavyweight Championship:
The Rock © vs. El Hijo Del Santo

NEW World Championship:
Rey Mysterio © vs. Chris Jericho

Boston Harbor Championship:

NWA: Clash of the Champions
October 29th 2006

Dark match: NWA: Hawaii Champion Lance Cade defeated Austin Aries.

The pyro explodes, the music plays, and the National Wrestling Alliance is in full force for the Clash of the Champions! Our hosts for the evening are legendary announcer Joey Styles and NWA: Mexico President Mad Dog! They welcome us to the festivities, promising an exciting show from the four major territories of the NWA!

Ten Man Scramble match:
Les Bohèmiens (Chavo Guerrero, Shane Helms, Chris Masters, Mikey Whipwreck, and Precious Lucy) vs. Pushing the Limits (Carlito, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Adam Pearce, and Kevin Steen)

In a fast-paced high-flying match, PTL seemed to dominate most of the match. By her usual antics, Melina Perez flirted and tempted the PTL wrestlers distracting them in the match when Les Bohèmiens were in need of a fresh man, taking advantage of the “no tag needed” rules. Eventually PTL became ran-down, and Les Bohèmiens continued to take advantage in the match. Chavo Guerrero pinned Kevin Steen after hitting the Gory Bomb at 14:05. After the match, Les Bohèmiens celebrated by reading monologues, reciting poetry, a plastic pickle tub drum solo by Masters, and through interpretative dance. PTL, although worn-out, still had enough in them to attack Les Bohèmiens and clear the ring out of the ring. Masters was left alone in the ring, so Carlito put the pickle tub on his head and hit him with a steel chair, receiving a pop from the audience.
Winners: Les Bohemians @ 14:05 (69/68/70)

Interpromotional Four-way Tag Team match:
The British Invasion vs. La Parkas vs. Dudley Boyz vs. The Outsiders
In a fast paced match, with frequent tags, most of the action takes place between the La Parkas and the British Invasion. Nigel McGuinness and L.A. Par-K go through a dazzling exchange of holds before Nigel finally gains control. The Dudleyz get involved in breaking up many near fall attempts by Nigel on the La Parkas, as the Outsiders watch from the apron, acting cool the entire time. The Dudleyz end up hitting the 3D on both La Parka II and Paul Birchill later in the match, but get laid out seconds later by Nigel and L.A. Par-K. The Outsiders then storm the ring, with Kevin Nash hitting the powerbomb on Nigel and Scott Hall hitting the Razor’s Edge on L.A. Par-K. They go for the double covers, but Paul Birchill and La Parka II make the save. The match devolves into mass chaos with all four teams in the ring, but somewhere in the frenzy Nigel McGuinness rolls up Bubba Dudley (with his feet on the ropes) for the victory!
Winners: The British Invasion @ 11:16 (80/83/75)

NEW Boston Harbor Championship:
James Gibson © vs. Jay Lethal vs. Homicide
In a fast paced, but surprisingly short match, Jay Lethal and Homicide attempt to rekindle their old feud, while at the same time trying to take out the champ, James Gibson. Homicide and Jay Lethal make a game out of seeing who can chop Gibson the hardest, with Lethal even succeeding in busting open Gibson’s chest at one point. This fires up Gibson, who hits a series of vertical suplexes on both men, but gets caught with the Cop Killa from Homicide. Lethal catches Homicide off-guard with the dragon suplex, but before soon gets caught in the Trailer Hitch from Gibson and is forced to tap out.
Winner: James Gibson @ 7:13 (76/74/78)

20 Man Battle Royal (Winner gets $100,000):
Featuring Ultimo Dragon, Averno, Mephisto, Damian 666, Halloween, Ken Kennedy, Claudio Castagnoli, Bobby Roode, CM Punk, Matt Striker, Chris Sabin, Chris Hero, Rhino, Sonny Siaki, Mick Foley, Scotty 2 Hotty, Sting, Val Venis, Stevie Richards, and Warrior.
The eliminations in this match go as follows:
Sonny Siaki eliminated Matt Striker at 1:34.
Mephisto eliminated Bobby Roode at 1:59.
Halloween eliminated Averno at 2:45.
Damien 666 eliminated Chris Sabin at 3:04.
Sting eliminated Damien 666 at 3:15.
Sting eliminated Stevie Richards at 3:55.
Mick Foley eliminated Val Venis at 4:20.
Sting eliminated Mick Foley at 5:34.
CM Punk eliminated Claudio Castagnoli at 5:40.
Sting eliminated Rhino at 5:59.
Ken Kennedy eliminated Sting at 6:08.
Ultimo Dragon eliminated Halloween at 6:20.
Ultimo Dragon eliminated CM Punk at 6:45.
Ultimo Dragon eliminated Scotty 2 Hotty at 7:15.
Ultimo Dragon eliminated Chris Hero at 9:14.
Mephisto eliminated Sonny Siaki at 11:40.
Ultimo Dragon eliminated Ultimate Warrior at 11:57.
Ken Kennedy eliminated Mephisto at 13:50.
Ken Kennedy eliminated Ultimo Dragon at 17:45.
Winner: Ken Kennedy @ 17:45 (69/75/57)

NEW World Championship:
Rey Mysterio © vs. Chris Jericho

The crowd was extremely behind Mysterio for this bout, as you might have guessed. Jericho really heeled it up, hitting numerous blind low blows and getting several near falls in the process. Jericho went for his cocky pin on two occasions, resulting in garbage being thrown into the ring. Mysterio then made a big comeback, hitting the 619 and the West Coast Pop on Jericho. Jericho somehow kicked out, but Mysterio remained in control, hitting the Frog Splash for the victory!
Winner: Rey Mysterio @ 9:10 (91/97/80)

Mid-Atlantic Championship:
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair © vs. John Cena vs. “The Legend Killer Randy Orton” vs. Kane

In a methodical match, all the men used their experience and mental resources to outwit and out-cheat one another. During the match, Christian Cage pulled Kane out of the ring and attacked him. Kane, not resisting a fight, Chokeslammed Christian Cage over the ring-barrier into the crowd. Christian, always persists, came-back to attack Kane and they brawled their way through the crowd. Cena put Orton in the F-U, and then Flair gave his signature “hand-shake” (low blow) on Cena. In the end, the Dirtiest Player in the Game Ric Flair, out-cheated everyone and made Randy Orton tap-out with the Figure-Four at 12:34.
Winner: Ric Flair @ 12:34 (87/96/69)

NWA Midwest Title Match:
Chris Benoit © vs. Batista

This is Batista's first shot at the NWA Midwest Title since September 9th, one week after he lost it to Benoit at Hotter Than Hell. Batista earned the shot by beating Abyss, William Regal and Sabu at NWA Midwest's Vendetta. Benoit's held the title since August 27th, and has been very reluctant to defend the belt. It's no different here, as Joey Styles informs us that Benoit tried to get out of tonight's match. Benoit is careful not to allow Batista any offense early on, but Batista gets his licks on about halfway through the match. Benoit rolls out of the ring and tries to walk out, but Kurt Angle comes down the ramp and forces Benoit back to the ring. While the ref is focusing on Angle and Benoit, Abyss comes through the crowd and hits the Shock Treatment on an unsuspecting Batista. Benoit climbs back in the ring and covers the downed "Animal" for the win
WINNER: Chris Benoit @ 13:43 (84/89/74)

Mexican National Championship:
Juventud Guerrera © vs. Pscicosis

This match is off the charts craziness. The crowd is very much behind Pscicosis for the match, popping at every high flying maneuver he does. Guerrera takes quite a beating for a bit, but manages to survive a guillotine leg drop and a corkscrew senton. Juventud makes a dramatic comeback and ends up hitting the Juvie Driver for the first pinfall of the match at 8:45. Pscicosis loses his cool, and hits some aggressive kicks and chops. Pscicosis slows the pace down for a few minutes, as he locks on a brutal looking surfboard stretch, but Juventud makes the comeback. Juventud takes Pscicosis down with a rana, and gets a near fall. Juvie goes for the Juvie Driver, but Psicosis counters and sets him up for another guillotine leg drop. This time Juvie moves out of the way, and pulls himself to the top rope for the 450 splash! Juvie hits the maneuver perfectly, and gets the victory!
Winner: Juventud Guerrera @ 17:54 (87/86/88)

NWA World Heavyweight Championship:
The Rock © vs. El Hijo Del Santo

Even though their styles clash, this match becomes one for the ages. The Rock comes out first, and is booed heavily by the Mexican crowd. The Rock seems to be ignoring the boos at first. Santo comes out to a massive pop, everyone is on their feet. Santo makes it to the ring and stares down The Rock. The crowd is so electric, they want Santo to win very badly. They finally collide, and Santo wrenches the arm of The Rock, twisting it to gain the upper hand. The crowd is delighted. The Rock then reverses the hold and slams Santo down to the mat. The crowd roars in disapproval. The Rock is still ignoring the boos, but you can see in his eyes that he is noticing this. Santo quickly regains his vertical position and ties up with Rock. Santo whips Rock into the turnbuckle and goes back to work on the arm of The Rock. Santo catches Rock in an armbar and they fall to the mat. Rock takes some time to fight out of it, but the move clearly damages him. Rock tries to speed things up a bit, but Santo stubbornly keeps targeting The Rock’s arm. The crowd is eating this up. Finally, Rock catches Santo with a back suplex, and the crowd angrily lets the Rock have it. The Rock, clearly irritated, hits Santo with a spine buster and then begins to mock Santo’s mannerisms, prompting some fans to throw trash into the ring. Rock picks up a mostly filled beverage and throws it back into the crowd where it came from. By this time, Santo is back on his feet, and catches Rock with a headscissors takedown. Rock bounces back up and Santo drop kicks Rock over the ropes. Rock takes some time at ringside to argue with an angry fan, giving Santo a chance to hit a suicide dive! Santo flies through the ropes, and knocks Rock into the barricade. Santo then rolls Rock back into the ring and proceeds to mock some of The Rock’s mannerisms, to the delight of the crowd. Santo then goes for the camel clutch, and locks it onto The Rock right in the middle of the ring. Rock looks like he’s about to tap, and almost incites a riot when he escapes after almost two minutes trapped in the hold. Rock drops Santo onto the mat with another spine buster and sets him up for the people’s elbow! The crowd wants to kill Rock at this point. Rock tosses his elbow pad into the audience and bounces off the ropes, but while doing this Santo bounces to his feet. Rock runs right into an armdrag from Santo, who follows it up with a swinging surfboard! Santo goes for a quick cover, which the Rock kicks out of. Rock is in a daze, so Santo rolls him up again, but Rock kicks out again. Santo sets Rock up in the corner and climbs the turnbuckle. Santo goes for the diving head-butt, but Rock moves out of the way! Santo is hurt and is easy prey for the Rock Bottom! Rock goes for the cover and it’s 1………2………NO! Santo somehow kicked out! Rock is furious and is preparing for a second Rock Bottom. As Rock goes for the move, Santo drop toe holds Rock into the turnbuckles. Santo arm drags Rock to the mat and heads to the top rope again. Santo dives off on his second flying head-butt attempt, this time hitting Rock perfectly! Santo goes for the cover and it’s 1…….2………3! Holy crap, we have a new World Champion!
Winner: El Hijo Del Santo @ 29:30 (88/96/72)

Styles and Mad Dog proceed to mark out big time, as the arena is filled with streamers and fans jumping up and down in celebration! The entire NWA: Mexico roster floods the ring and celebrates with Santo over his huge title victory. This is truly a moment that will live forever in wrestling history!

A big night of action is expected from NEW, as we finally make the jump to prime time! That's right, starting 11/4, NEW will from 8-10 on TBS! The show will no longer be known as "Saturday Night" but will now be called "Blizzard."

In honor of this huge accomplishment, NEW Rey Mysterio has been ordered by Eric Bischoff to defend the NEW World Championship in a fatal four way against his last three challengers: JBL, Kid Kash, and Chris Jericho! Bischoff is determined to get the NEW title off of the underdog from NWA: Mid-Atlantic!

Also, NEW made waves in the wrestling world by drafting six huge stars from the now defunct Central States Wrestling. Samoa Joe, Steve Corino, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Alex Shelley, and Petey Williams are coming to NEW! Will they be in attendance tonight?

At Clash of the Champions, The Rock lost the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to El Hijo Del Santo. This means that The Rock is on his way back to NEW! The Rock is scheduled to appear at tonight's huge primetime debut, don't miss it!

For all of this and more, you must tune in the premiere episode of NEW Blizzard, only on the Superstation!

Update:

TBS changed their minds on giving NEW a primetime slot on Saturdays. They instead offered a late evening slot. NEW has accepted the late evening slot, and the Saturday show will still be called "Saturday Night." However, NEW, behind the backs of the good folks at TBS, just came to terms with the USA Network for a two hour primetime show on Mondays, which will be titled "Blizzard." NEW's Saturday Night will serve as the "B" show. Monday Night Blizzard will air live on USA, while NEW Saturday Night will tape on Mondays before Blizzard.

This week's Saturday Night will still air on primetime on TBS, and will be a huge episode.

NEW Saturday Night
November 4th 2006

This was the special primetime edition of NEW Saturday Night. Look forward to the debut of NEW Blizzard, Mondays on the USA Network!

Rob Van Dam defeated PTL's Matt Sydal at 10:41 with the five star frog splash. The match was really good, though Sydal is still working on getting over. The rest of PTL were at ringside for the match, trying to keep Edge from getting involved. After the match, Carlito once again pleaded with RVD to join them, but he sticks by Edge... for the time being. (74/61/87)

The Rock comes out to the ring for an interview and gets an explosive pop from the audience. Lots of "welcome back" chants. The Rock talks about his experiences as being the NWA World Champion, and how it was a great time in his career and life. The Rock says that even though he was disappointed that he came up short against El Hijo Del Santo at Clash of the Champions, he is happy to be back home in NEW. The Rock says that he has been offered a contract to wrestle for the NEW Championship at Methodical Madness, so he will be out later scouting the fatal four way. (97%)

The Dudley Boyz defeated the NEW Tag Team Champions Jushin Liger and Tajiri by disqualification at 18:12. This match was off the charts crazy, with lots of violent brawling from the Dudleyz and some amazing flying from Liger. Tajiri kicked the hell out of Bubba, busting him open in the process. It looked like the Dudleyz were on their way to victory, but Tajiri caught Devon in the Tarantula, and refused to let go of the hold, earning a disqualification for his team. A rematch has been scheduled for Methodical Madness. (90/83/97)

Chris Jericho comes out to the ring and talks trash about James Gibson. Jericho calls Gibson a glorified mid-carder, who needs to remember where he belongs in the long line of things. Jericho scoffs at Gibson's desire to wrestle the best, saying that Gibson has never defeated a true main eventer and will never get there. James Gibson comes out and says that if could have had five more seconds at Resistance, he would have made Jericho tap out. Gibson and Jericho then proceed to brawl, and need to be seperated by officials. (92%)

Ron Killings defeated Rene Dupree by disqualification at 15:21 when Kid Kash ran in. The match itself was the usual solid match that Dupree and Killings have together. Kash ran in and knocked Killings down with a chair, and a two on one beat down began. D'Lo Brown ended up making the save, as he was sick of the racist comments that Kash has been making recently as well. (84/83/85)

Eric Bischoff, with his bodyguard, Hardcore Holly, comes out to the ring and did his complaining routine. He says that it was bad enough that President Rowe let the PTL Invaders join the roster, but now Rowe has gone and hired six stars from Central States Wrestling! Bischoff is furious. He calls out his henchmen, Rob Van Dam and Edge to join him in the ring. They come out and Bischoff tells them that the CSW guys are coming, so they need to get rid of PTL quickly so they can focus on keeping the new recruits in line. He says that at Methodical Madness, there will be a classic survivor match. It will be the PTL guys, minus their leader Carlito, against Rob Van Dam, Edge, Hardcore Holly, Sonny Siaki, and Tommy Dreamer. If PTL loses this match, Bischoff will fire all of them, on the basis that their win/loss record is not up to pass with him. (72%)

Rhino defeated Chris Harris at 8:49 with the GORE! The match was tremendous, as they clicked really well together. James Storm was at ringside for the entire match and tried interferring on several occasions, until Rhino gored him off the apron. After the match, AMW beat down Rhino. Mick Foley wasn't there to make the save this week. (83/77/90)

John Bradshaw Layfield defeated NEW World Champion Rey Mysterio, Kid Kash, and Chris Jericho at 21:44 to become the NEW World Champion! The match was amazing, with all four men making frequent tags and keeping the action fresh. Kid Kash became a non-factor in the match when Mysterio knocked him off the top turnbuckles, and Kash collided with the steel barricade at ringside about ten minutes into the match. After that, JBL viciously grounded Jericho with the clothesline from hell. Mysterio then hit the 619 on JBL and went for the West Coast Pop, but JBL caught Mysterio in mid-air and power bombed him for the win. After the match, JBL had a staredown with The Rock, but was briefly disturbed when a hype video for Steve Corino blared on the tron. The show ended with JBL clutching the NEW Championship and looking paranoid. (89/91/87)

Things should be extra interesting heading into Blizzard on Monday!

NWA: New England Wrestling
Blizzard
November 6th 2006

This is the premiere episode of Blizzard, on the USA Network! President Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary and thank us for joining them on this historic night in the short history of New England Wrestling. Blizzard is set to become the flagship program of NEW!

The newly crowned NEW World Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield, comes out to the ring with the Basham Brothers. JBL boasts about how he won the NEW title in a four way this past Saturday. JBL says that even though it is gratifying to finally be the NEW Champion, he is even more proud about booting Rey Mysterio back to the Mid-Atlantic. This brings out The Rock, who defends Mysterio, stating that he was a worthy champion, one who did more for the NEW title than JBL ever will. JBL scoffs at The Rock, and dares The Rock to face one of the Bashams tonight. Rock says he will do one better and will take on both of them in a handicap match. JBL and the Bashams practically fall over laughing at this, when Rey Mysterio runs in through the audience and helps The Rock throw all three heels out of the ring. Mysterio takes a microphone and tells JBL that he has a rematch clause in his NEW agreement, and that he wants his rematch tonight! JBL accepts! (82%)

In the first ever match on Blizzard, Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson defeated Rene Dupree and Ron Killings at 9:21 to retain the championship. This was a worthy opening match for the show, as all three men were on top of their games. Dupree and Killings tore into each other, and took their ongoing feud to a new level. Gibson was able to pick up a clean victory by making Dupree tap out to the trailer hitch. After the match, Gibson took his belt and left with his head held high while Dupree and Killings continued to brawl. (82/83/83)

Backstage, Ace Steel cut a promo where he tried to showcase how insane he is. Steel said that he is the next top NEW superstar and he will prove it tonight by picking up his first victory. Steel then proceeded to trash the set he was cutting the interview on. The crowd wasn't feeling the promo (54%)

Ace Steel defeated Johnny Devine at 4:10 with the steel spike. The match was actually pretty good, though short, and the crowd dumped all over it. Devine's push seems to be over, as he cleanly put Steel over. (65/42/88)

Backstage, The Rock bumped into Rhino in the hallway. They shake hands and share a few laughs. Rhino asks Rock if he wants some support for his match against the Bashams, and Rock rejects the offer, saying that he has to go this one alone. Rock claims that he can back up everything he says in the ring, and tonight he will make the Bashams look like the jabronis they really are. (97%)

Doug and Danny Basham defeated The Rock at 19:23. This was an extremely dramatic match, as The Rock dominated at first, but the Bashams managed to make frequent tags after a bit, and were able to beat The Rock down. Rock made several comeback attempts, and even hit the Rock Bottom on Danny Basham. Doug interrupted the cover, and the beat down continued. Rock made another comeback a few minutes later, and went to deliver the People's Elbow to Danny. Once again, Doug interrupted and slammed Rock into the turnbuckles. The Bashams then managed to hit their version of "total elimination" on Rock, and Doug covered him for the win. After the match, JBL came out and gave the Bashams orders to "break the Rock's leg." Danny then grabbed a chair and closed it over Rock's ankle and held Rock still while Doug climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit a big leg drop onto the chair, crushing Rock's ankle! The Rock sold the attack like death. (81/83/78)

Rob Van Dam, Edge, and Hardcore Holly defeated Carlito, Chris Hero, and Frankie Kazarian at 7:49 when Holly hit the Alabama Slam on Kazarian for the victory. The match was really good, with PTL hitting a lot of good flying moves on Bischoff's henchmen. Holly's strength became too much for PTL to handle, as Holly violently chopped away at Kazarian and beat him with the Alabama Slam. After the match, RVD stood back looking sullen as Edge and Holly violently bloodied up Carlito and Hero, until the other PTL guys ran in for the save. (79/74/84)

Chris Jericho came out to the ring for a promo. He put himself over as being the biggest star in NEW and congratulated himself for being the first ever NEW World Champion. Jericho then angrily ranted about how this is the most important night in NEW history and he isn't even wrestling on the card. But who got to wrestle in the first match on Blizzard: James Gibson! Jericho said that Gibson has been given too much preferential treatment, and challenged Gibson to another match at Methodical Madness. James Gibson came out to answer Jericho's challenge. Gibson told Jericho that he would gladly face Jericho again, but this time he insists that he will make Jericho tap out in five minutes. The segment ends with the two men staring each other in the eyes, while Gibson holds up the Boston Harbor Championship. (97%)

Rhino defeated James Storm at 5:56 in a fun little match. Just like on Saturday, Rhino was the victim of a beat down from AMW. The crowd desperately chanted "Foley" in hopes that Mick Foley would make the save, but once again it seems that Foley wasn't in the arena. (81/80/82)

An eerie video played with shadowy figures making threats to JBL Eric Bischoff. They say that Bischoff will regret trying to hold them down. Another voice says that JBL will pay for the disrespect he has given them over the months. A white figure appears in the darkness, out of focus. He says that he beat JBL before, and he will do it again. The camera focuses and we see that it is none other than CSW Champion Steve Corino! Corino stares into the camera and tells JBL that he is coming to NEW, and that payback is a bitch. (78%)

NEW World Champion John Bradshaw Layfield defeated Rey Mysterio to retain the title at 15:23. Mysterio was able to fight off interferance from both Bashams during the match. Mysterio had the match won, as he hit the 619 on JBL. As Mysterio went for the West Coast Pop, Orlando Jordan ran in through the crowd. Jordan threw himself against the ropes as Mysterio was springboarding, causing him to hit the mat with a sickening thud. After that, it was easy for JBL to hit the Clothesline from Hell and retain the title. The show ended with JBL posing in the ring, surrounded by his Cabinet. (87/91/81)

Overall: 80

We got a 6.44 rating for 'Blizzard'!
The attendance level was 9935 people.
We made $298050 from ticket sales.

NEW Saturday Night
November 11th 2006

Finally, the lower card stars of NEW will now have a place to shine! Welcome to the all new New England Wrestling Saturday Night!

The show opens with a hype video for the NEW Tag Team Champions, Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Yoshiro Tajiri. They will be defending their titles in tonight's main event, against PTL's Adam Pearce and Matt Sydal! The video is primarily clips of Liger and Tajiri retaining their titles over D'Lo Brown and his numerous partners, and against AMW and the Bashams at Manchester Mayhem. (60%)

Christian York and Sonjay Dutt defeated Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark at 7:14 when York rolled up Clark. This was an excellent match, full of quick tags and innovative double teams. After the match, Kendrick slapped the taste out of Clark and told him that he needed to get his act together if their tag team is going to continue. (78/63/93)

After a commercial, Brian Kendrick is seen backstage throwing a temper tantrum. Clark tries to calm him down, and apologizes for losing the match tonight. Kendrick said that he is giving Clark one more chance. They will be wrestling against the Dudley Boyz next week on Saturday Night, and they need a win. If they lose, Kendrick is going to kick Clark's ass. (72%)

Chris Sabin defeated Xavier at 11:45 in an unbelievable match. This is what happens when the underutilized stars of NEW get a chance to shine. It looked like Xavier was going to pick up a big upset victory at several points, but Sabin came back and hit the Cradle Suplex. The crowd gave both men a standing ovation after the match. (81/62/100)

Andrew Martin squashed Shark Boy in 2:19. Not much to say about this match, other than that Martin was overly aggressive and hit the big boot and the pump handle slam to pick up the victory. After the match, Martin cut a short promo demanding that the fans take him seriously. Martin also stated that no one will ever call him by his real name again, they will once again refer to him only as... "TEST!" (69/64/75)

A hype video for Mick Foley airs. Foley has not been seen since the brutal street fight at Resistance, but he will be returning this Monday, on Blizzard. (93%)

NEW Tag Team Champions Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Yoshiro Tajiri defeated Adam Pearce and Matt Sydal at 8:02 to retain their titles. This was another awesome match up, that might have been ruined by a run in by Sonny Siaki and Tommy Dreamer (who will be facing PTL in a classic survivor match at Methodical Madness). Otherwise, the match was a high flying spectacle and featured less cheating than usual by the team of Liger and Tajiri. (77/64/91)

The show ends with Liger and Tajiri posing with their championships, while Dreamer and Siaki laugh it up on the stage.

Overall: 75%
