That's only because you drafted Kane before I could.

When Kane finally jobs, you know that Same Obnoxious Fan will stand up and turn his back to the ring. Like that fat guy in the hockey jersey on RAW a few months ago.

Fans, not since Vladimir, Robin Green or Sapphire has a fan been so instrumental to the career of a Superstar!

That fan ruled... and it was a surprisingly good Flair/HHH match too.

NEW Saturday Night Preview for May 27th 2006

It's official: Steve Corino has been traded to NWA: Central States Wrestling! Corino will no longer be participating in the NEW Championship tournament. The man Corino defeated in the first round, John Bradshaw Layfield, is said to be furious, and has demanded interview time! What will JBL have to say?

The NEW Championship tournament will continue with a pair of quarterfinal matches! Rene Dupree will face Christian Cage, and Kane will battle Edge!

Last week, former NWA Tag Team Champions America's Most Wanted jumped Team 3-D from behind! How will Team 3-D respond to the attack? You can bet that tables will be involved!

Plus, a huge main event has been signed. The team of Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, and Sonny Siaki will take on The Rock and Mick Foley in a three on two handicap match! Can the newly reunited Rock and Sock Connection overcome the numbers advantage and pick up a victory?

For all of this and more, you cannot miss NEW Saturday Night!

The Sonny Siaki push makes me vomit. Another example of EWR manipulation to make a terrible worker and bland talker "over".

I love the Siaki push.

But I HATE handicap matches. I'm sure you're going somewhere with it.

NEW Saturday Night!
May 27th 2006

The opening package plays and some fireworks have been added to the beginning of NEW Saturday Night! This week is airing live from Bar Harbor, Maine! Ernie Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary.

Rowe: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to week four of NEW Saturday Night!

Plague: And what a night its going to be! Tonight the Rock N Sock Connection reunite, only to be embarrassed by Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki!

Rowe: I wouldn’t count on that, Plague, The Rock and Mick Foley are two of the toughest competitors in the history of our sport, but I will admit, they do have their work cut out for them tonight.

Plague: Funny you should say that, considering YOU are the one who makes the matches and all…

Rowe: Anyhow, lets get on with the show!

-John Bradshaw Layfield comes out to the ring and he does not look pleased at all. He takes a microphone.

JBL: It has come to my attention that the man who beat me in the NEW Championship tournament, Steve Corino, has been traded out of NEW. It has also come to my attention that Corino ASKED to be traded out. Apparently, Corino feels that he is too good to be a part of NEW, and in all honesty he has every right to feel that way. I mean, NEW is definitely where the big boys play, but New England itself? Hell, New England sucks! This area is overrun by liberals, white trash, and is just plain boring in general. Every moment I spend in New England simply kills me! So in that regard, I wish Steve Corino the best of luck, even if its over in the central states, the only part of the U.S. I cannot stand more than New England. But on the other hand, Steve Corino, how dare you have the audacity to beat the wrestling God and then run out of town before I could get my rematch! And how dare you give up your spot in the NEW Championship tournament so damn easily! This brings me to why I am out here… (looks toward the commentator’s booth) Ernie Rowe! I am asking… no, I am DEMANDING that you give Corino’s spot in the tournament to me.

Rowe: Why should I, JBL? It would only cheapen the tournament to let someone coast through without even winning a damn match! You know I am pissed off at Corino more than anyone, for already tarnishing the glory of the tournament and for walking away at such a prestigious prize as the NEW Championship. So you know what I am going to do, JBL? You will compete in a second opening round match, one that will replace the one you had with Corino. It will take place right now, and it will be against the man who came to us from NWA:CSW in exchange for Corino. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pride that I introduce you to the newest member of the NEW roster: Chris Sabin!

74%

Match 1: JBL vs Chris Sabin (Opening Round Tournament Match)

Chris Sabin uses his speed and agility to out maneuver JBL in the early goings. Sabin hits some nice drop kicks and connects with an enziguri to the back of JBL’s head. Sabin goes for a crossbody off the ropes, but JBL catches him in midair and drops him on the turnbuckles. JBL puts Sabin in a sleeper, but Sabin escapes. Unfortunately, Sabin runs right into the Clothesline from Hell and JBL gets the victory at 4:34!

Winner: JBL, ** (72/73/73)

Rowe: There, now everyone is happy. My tournament is back on track and JBL got back in.

Plague: You should’ve just let him take Corino’s spot.

Rowe: Absolutely not. I wanted JBL to earn something for once.

-Backstage, Iron Troy Cumings is standing by with Chris Jericho and Ric Flair.

Troy: Gentlemen, tonight you face The Rock and Mick Foley in a handicap match with…

Jericho: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re teaming with Sonny Siaki, who seems hell bent on being my little buddy. I'll tell you this, if I had my way Siaki would not be in this match tonight. I told him to stay out of my business, I did not need him answering The Rock for me last week. I don't see why he should be rewarded with another main event spot tonight.

Flair: Whooooo! It doesn’t matter, this match could be me against Foley and Rock alone and I’d still win, because I’m, WHOOOOOOO, the nature boy! Mick Foley is the worst excuse for a legend in this business that I’ve ever seen and The Rock is a washed up, out of shape, Hollywood pretty boy!

Troy: How important is tonight’s match for you two?

Jericho: This match, as well as my place in the NEW Championship tournament, means everything to me, Troy. Throughout my entire career I have been held down in every promotion I have ever been in. That is going to change. I am going to dominate NEW the way I should’ve been allowed to cut loose in WCW and WWE. And I am going to do it not by being funny, even though I am one witty son of a bitch, or by coming up with cool nicknames for myself, even though I am still the king of the world. I am going to do it by being the most relentless, toughest, bad-ass technical wrestling machine that New England has ever seen! Just look into my eyes and tell me that I’m not being dead serious. I am not a joke and no one, not even The Rock, is going to look past me this time.

Match 2: Christian Cage vs Rene Dupree (Quarterfinal Tournament Match)

Christian looks conspicuous, as he is wrestling in street clothes instead of wrestling gear. He and Rene Dupree exchange shots for a few minutes, before Dupree hits a blind low blow behind the referee’s back. Dupree gets near fall and applies a side head lock on Cage. Christian fights out of it and hits the Unprettier on Dupree. Cage is about to make a cover when Edge storms the ring and hits another spear on Christian! This brings on the DQ from the referee, ending the match at 3:15. However, Edge looks to be the one hurt from the attack. Christian lifts up his shirt to reveal that he had steel plates taped around him, clearly anticipating Edge’s attack. Christian looks to say “Good luck in your match later” and heads out.

Winner: Christian Cage by DQ, **1/4 (77/78/76)

Rowe: Damn Edge! It was my deepest hope that this tournament would not feature any disqualification finishes!

Plague: How can you be mad at Edge when he is so clearly hurt! He has to wrestle Kane later tonight!

-James Storm and Chris Harris come out to the ring. They take a microphone and Harris cuts a short promo declaring that he and Storm will become the first ever NEW Tag Team Champions and that the match will happen at River Rumble. They declare that since they were the reigning NWA World Tag Team Champions before the fall of TNA, that they should be the automatically be crowned. This brings out Team 3-D, who rushes in and attempt to put AMW through tables. AMW fight back though and put both Team 3-D members through tables. AMW stand over their fallen opponents and pose.

Match 3: Kane vs Edge

Edge is still hurting from spearing a well shielded Christian earlier. This makes him an easy target for Kane, who dominates the match. Kane chokeslams the life out of Edge before pinning him in only 2:25.

Winner: Kane, **1/2 (74/68/80)

Rowe: I have to give props to Christian Cage, he used Edge’s predictability to injure him earlier and cost him the match tonight instead of lowering himself to Edge’s level and interring instead.

Plague: I don’t see how you can be pissed at Edge for ruining Christian’s match but can be impressed with Christian for ruining Edge’s!

Match 4: Rock N Sock Connection vs Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki

Chris Jericho makes it clear in the very early going that he is not interested in teaming with Sonny Siaki. Jericho starts off against The Rock, and they lock up. Jericho dishes out some knife edge chops while Rock hits his signature punches. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Rock makes it to the ropes. Rock fights back and goes for the sharpshooter, but Jericho quickly tags in Ric Flair. Flair chops the life out of Rock, but Rock comes back with a spine buster. Foley is begging for a tag, so Rock obliges, but Flair quickly tags Jericho back in. Foley overpowers Jericho with his brawling and clotheslines him over the ropes. Foley backs Jericho into the steel steps, while Flair and Siaki double team The Rock in the ring. Foley runs back in for the save and helps Rock remove both Siaki and Flair from the ring. We head to a commercial at 5:05.

After the break, Foley and Jericho are going at it. Jericho hits a lionsault on Foley and goes for the cover, but The Rock breaks it up. Jericho makes it clear that he is avoiding tagging in Sonny Siaki, whom he has no confidence in. Flair is back in the ring, and doesn’t mind wrestling a hurt Foley. Flair drops some knees on Foley’s chest and goes for the figure four. The Rock breaks it up. Jericho charges the ring but Rock sends him flying over the ropes. Siaki then makes a blind tag to Flair and cleans house on Rock and Foley. Siaki hits the Siakalypse on Rock, but walks right into Mr. Socko and the mandible claw from Foley. Siaki is in big trouble, as Jericho storms back into the ring. The Rock cuts Jericho off again and they brawl into the audience, forgetting the match. In the ring, Foley has forced Siaki to pass out, and drags him to Flair so he can make a tag. Flair makes the reluctant tag and they tie up. It isn’t long before Flair accidentally clotheslines the referee. Foley and Flair are both exhausted and circle each other when suddenly… TOMMY DREAMER runs in with a kendo stick. Dreamer threatens to hit Flair with the stick, but instead nails Foley in the head with it! Foley goes down. Dreamer revives the referee, who is able to count Flair’s cover, giving him the win at 14:45!

Winners: Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Sonny Siaki, **3/4 (86/90/78)

Rowe: What in the world? Tommy Dreamer wasn’t scheduled to be here tonight! And why is he siding with Ric Flair?

Plague: I don’t know and I don’t care! This is the smartest thing Tommy Dreamer has ever done!

The show closes with Dreamer and Flair shaking hands
