NEW Saturday Night August 19th 2006 The music plays, the crowd roars, and President Rowe and Professor Plague welcome us to another exciting episode of NEW Saturday Night! This is the last stop before Summerslam, NEW’s pay-per-view debut! Rowe: Welcome to NEW Saturday Night! We have a big show in store for you, including a six man tag match featuring all the competitors in the Boston Harbor title picture! Plague: Plus, we have heard word that The Rock intends on calling out Chris Jericho to the ring! Rowe: But first off, we are being “graced” by JBL! In-ring segment: Xenophobia: it’s a way of life. John Bradshaw Layfield and his protégé, Trevor Murdoch, come out to the ring. JBL takes a microphone. JBL has to wait for the crowd’s boos to die down a tad before speaking. JBL: What the hell is wrong with you people? I try to keep NEW pure, and this is the thanks I get? I try to make sure that NEW is a safe place for NEW stars, and I get this lack of respect from you pieces of New England trash! I know you all live in little fantasy lands, where everyone can get along, because you live in the whitest region of the United States, but where I come from, there is a bitter reality. I’m from Texas, where I struggled to keep the Mexicans from crossing the border the same way I now work to keep NEW outsider free. I stood up to CSW and even took some hits in a battle against Samoa Joe. John Cena tried waltzing in here and I kicked his ass, and I will do so again at Summerslam. And Chris Sabin…Chris, you could have had it so easy! You could have had a good stay here in NEW, if you had just done the right thing. Months and months ago, I called you out here to ask you to tell these people the ugly truths of Central States Wrestling. But you wouldn’t play along, you gave up your only chance at being on my good side, so I’ve made your life a living hell. But now I have found someone who is more than willing to spill the beans. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm round of applause to the man who will take the Boston Harbor Championship at Summerslam: Kid Kash! Kid Kash comes out to a decent level of heel heat, though mostly due to being associated with JBL. He enters the ring and takes a mic himself. JBL: Kash, you are an outsider. You have crossed the border into NEW. But now I will give you the chance to earn a green card. Tell me, Kash, what was it like working for CSW? Kash: It was a freaking nightmare. The Notorious K.I.D. was treated like a joke by the CSW officials! I was held down and made to look like a freaking idiot! That company, and everyone who works there, can kiss my skinny ass! NEW is the place to be if you want to get ahead by your wrestling skills, not by how good you are performing (big time censor). JBL: That’s more like it! Now, how was the backstage area in CSW? Kash: Well, I don’t want to finger anyone out, but the only way anyone gets up the card there is if they perform certain favors, if you get my drift. In fact, I once saw Steve Corino… (Kash is cut off by Sabin’s music). Chris Sabin appears on the stage. He is already holding a microphone. Sabin: Kash, that’s not true and you damn well know it! I’m proud to be here in NEW, but I’m not going to stand by and let you discredit the territory I used to call home! JBL, you might be able to bully Kash into spewing your propaganda, but you won’t get me. I’ve never taken any crap from a bully in my life and I won’t start now. I’m going to shut you up for good at Summerslam! JBL: Well, good for you, boy. But good luck making it to Summerslam. Let’s get him, fellas! JBL, Murdoch, and Kash start heading up the ramp to try and fight Sabin three on one. They barely exit the ropes when John Cena’s music hits the airwaves. Cena comes out and stands alongside Sabin. Kash pretty much says “forget this” and exits through the crowd. JBL pushes Murdoch into Cena, and takes the same escape path as Kash. Cena and Cena brawls with Murdoch while Sabin chases after JBL. Cena and Murdoch brawl into the ring, where Cena hits the F-U on Murdoch. Cena poses to the very enthusiastic crowd. (79%) Match One: Tommy Dreamer vs Justin Credible (hardcore match) This match is more or less to exhibit Tommy Dreamer before his Hell in a Cell match with Mick Foley at Summerslam. Credible and Dreamer exchange shots with trash can lids. Dreamer gains the upper hand, but Credible strikes with a low blow. Credible sets a table up in the ring, but Dreamer fights back and puts Credible through the table with a Dreamer Driver. Dreamer then pins Credible for the victory at 5:21. Winner: Tommy Dreamer, **1/2 (75/73/78) After the match, Dreamer grabs a microphone. Dreamer: Hey, Foley. Did you like that? Huh, did you? I hope you were watching closely because this is a perfect example of what I do. I’m the innovator of violence. I hurt people! And at Summerslam, I promise that one of us will go flying off the top of that goddamn cell… and that it won’t be me! Backstage segment: Chasing the tag team gold. The camera shows a section of the dressing room. Tajiri is reading quietly. His tag partner, D’Lo Brown, comes over. Brown: Hey buddy, I thought we should go over our strategy for taking the gold from AMW tomorrow night. You have some time? Tajiri just looks at Brown, picks up his book, and leaves. D’Lo looks puzzled. Rhino walks by. Brown: Hey man, you and Tajiri go way back right? Have you ever seen him act like this before? Rhino: Only before I gored the holy hell out of him. Brown: That’s real reassuring. Rhino: He just looks bored. Nothing more, nothing less. Brown: How the hell can he be bored! We are challenging for the Tag Team titles tomorrow at Summerslam! Rhino: Good question, man. I’d take some time and think that over if I were you. Later. (80%) Match Two: James Gibson, Ron Killings, and Doug Basham vs Kid Kash, Carlito, and Rene Dupree These six men currently make up the Boston Harbor title picture in NEW. Gibson, Basham, Carlito, and Kash will be wrestling in the fatal fourway to crown the first champion at Summerslam, while Dupree and Killings will be wrestling for the opportunity to challenge for the best at September’s Manchester Mayhem ppv. The match is fast paced from bell to bell. The action goes all over the ringside area as well. The tags are made so frequently that it becomes difficult to keep track of who the legal men are. It gets so chaotic towards the end that all six men are in the ring brawling at once. It comes down to Gibson and Kash, who had quite the brawl a couple of weeks ago. Kash once again rolls up Gibson, grabs the tights for leverage, and steals a pinfall victory at 15:23! Kash rolls out of the ring before anyone can gain revenge. Winners: Kid Kash, Carlito, and Rene Dupree, *** (79/76/82) Backstage Interview: The Rated R Super Sell-out “Dapper” Dave Choate is backstage with Edge. Choate: Many fans have been wondering, why exactly have you aligned yourself with Eric Bischoff? He has made it clear that he hates all things WWE, but you were a WWE superstar for seven years! It just doesn’t make sense? Edge: The thing is, Dave, our fans are ignorant sheep who forget facts. Those swine have already forgotten that I worked under Eric Bischoff on Monday Night Raw for two years. Eric was the best boss I ever had, we developed a mutual understanding for each other. Furthermore, he brought my attention to a few details. It took me damn close to a decade to become the World Champion in WWE. And when I did become WWE champion it was on a damn loophole, the company would have rather I never gotten a title shot at all! I was held down for far too long in WWE to let it happen again. By aligning myself with Bischoff, I already got a shot at the NWA World Championship, with many more chances to come. Choate: At Summerslam, you will be teaming up with Rob Van Dam to face Team 3D. You are representing Eric Bischoff, as the rights to the “Dudley Boyz” name are on the line? Edge: This match at Summerslam will be a walk in the park. Team 3D does not know when to quit. They are washed up has beens who have been clinging to their old ECW glory for far too long. Unlike their contemporary, Rob Van Dam, they are too stupid to let it go. If they won’t stop embarrassing themselves, RVD and I will euphemize them. After Summerslam, not only will Team 3D not have the names that made them famous, but they won’t have their health either. Now get out of my face, RVD and I have a match up next to show that we mean business! (93%) Match Three: Edge and Rob Van Dam vs Sonjay Dutt and Shark Boy Edge and RVD dominate the match for the most part. There is a notable spot where Shark Boy stages a comeback, and hits a series of drop kicks and arm drags on both Edge and RVD. This comes to a crashing halt when Edge hits the spear out of no where! Edge tags in RVD, who immediately goes to the top rope. RVD hits the five star frog splash on Shark Boy and covers him for the victory at 4:24! Winners: Rob Van Dam and Edge, *** (78/73/83) After the match, Team 3D runs in and hits the 3D on Edge. Rob Van Dam tries to go for the Van Daminator on Brother Devon, but Brother Ray catches him with the move formerly known as the Bubba Bomb. Team 3D gain a measure of revenge and some momentum heading into their big match at Summerslam! Backstage segment: The lackey. “Iron” Troy Cumings is standing by with Sonny Siaki. Cumings asks Siaki for his thoughts at how Chris Jericho walked out on him during his match last week. Siaki: Did I enjoy getting my ass kicked? No, it sucked. Would I do it again, if it meant that harm does not reach Jericho? I would sacrifice myself for him in a heart beat. (Rhino enters). Rhino: Siaki, I don’t get you. You’re a talented guy. Why do you let Jericho walk all over you? He doesn’t even want your help, he just uses you when it’s convenient for… Siaki pushes Rhino into the wall. Siaki: JERICHO NEEDS ME! JERICHO WANTS MY HELP! I’M A BIG SHOT, I DROVE THE UNDERTAKER OUT OF HERE! I PINNED THE ROCK! I… Siaki is cut off because he and Rhino are now in a full blown brawl. Referees run in to separate them. (75%) In-ring segment: The Rock calls out Jericho The Rock, with the NWA World Championship over his shoulder, confidently makes his way to the ring. He takes a microphone. Rock: Finally…. THE ROCK HAS COME BACK… to Providence…. (huge pop from the Rhode Island fans). The Rock has accomplished a lot over the years… but nothing like what will happen tomorrow night at Summerslam. It’s Rock vs. Jericho, title vs. title… winner…takes… all! The Rock is going to lay the Smackdown on Jericho’s sorry candy-ass and take the thing that means more to Jericho than anything else… the NEW Championship. The Rock has endeared Jericho’s crap for far too long. The Rock says this… Jericho… get that llama’s left nipple out of your mouth and get your roody poo candy ass out here so The Rock can beat it all the way from Providence up to Bangor, Maine, where afterwards The Rock can enjoy the finest poontang pie that Maine has to offer! Almost as soon as Rock is done talking, Jericho’s music hits and the NEW Champion appears on the stage. Jericho: You think you’re so funny, Rock? You come out here and say things like “llama’s left nipple” and “poontang pie.” But all the juvenile catchphrases in the world will not save you tomorrow night, Rock. You have succeeded in pissing me off! I am pissed at everything, Rock. I’m pissed that even though I beat you at River Rumble, you got to represent NEW at the Great American Bash. I’m pissed that even though I became NEW Champion, I still played second fiddle to you at 32 Flavors of Pain. And I am pissed that you are arrogant enough to look right past me, even though I’ve already beaten you several times in the past. I’m pissed that even after all our battles, after all those times I handed your ass to you, you STILL look at me as if I’m nothing. Hell, to you, I am less than nothing! I’m just some assclown who just happens to wear a gold belt around his waste most of the time! I’m just the most talented and best paid jobber in the history of wrestling! I’m sick of it, Rock. I am going to humble you once and for all. After tomorrow night, you will never…. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER... treat me like a joke again. Rock: Chris Jericho… we can stand around all night discussing your inferiority complex… or you can just… bring it! With that, Jericho charges the ring and begins to brawl with The Rock. Jericho tears Rock’s shirt off and hits some chops on him. Rock fires back with some stiff punches and unloads Jericho from the ring. Rock pursues after Jericho, but Jericho grabs a steel chair and nails Rock in the head. Rock is in a daze. Jericho goes for another swing, but Rock barely ducks. The steel chair hits the ring post hard, hurting Jericho’s hands in the process. Rock catches Jericho and tries to deliver a Rock Bottom onto the concrete floor, but Jericho counters out of it. Jericho cracks the chair over Rock’s head again, and sets him up on the announce table. Jericho lays Rock out and climbs up to the apron. With that, Jericho hits an Asai moonsault, right onto the Rock on the table! The table breaks, and they are out! With their big main event taking place less than 24 hours from now, this could be bad news for The Rock! The show ends with Jericho stumbling to his feet. He holds both titles up in the air and smiles sinisterly. (100%) Overall: 84% We got a 1.97 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!'! The attendance level was 6606 people. We made $198180 from ticket sales. |

SUMMERSLAM August 20th 2006 The show opens with a hype video set to “The Kill” by 30 Seconds to Mars. All of the matches are included in this package. It breaks away to NEW stars taking turns reminiscing on why Summerslam means a lot of them and what they hope to accomplish tonight. The Rock: To be able to perform in the main event of Summerslam is a great honor. The last time I had that opportunity, I was taken down ::shows clip of Brock Lesnar hitting Rock with the F-5:: but times have changed. The Rock is ready to jump start Summerslam for a new generation. Chris Jericho: Summerslam is NEW’s first pay-per-view. As the NEW Champion, I take personal responsibility for making sure this is a show for the ages. The Rock thinks he can take my title away, but he is foolishly mistaken. I beat him at River Rumble, and I will beat him again tonight. I worked too hard to take my rightful place on the throne of professional wrestling, and no one, not even The Rock, is going to knock me down. Brother Ray: My brother, Devon, and I made wrestling history at Summerslam 2000 when we participated in the first ever TLC match. Now six years later, one of our opponents from that night, Edge, is hell driven on killing our legacy. Brother Devon: Rob Van Dam and Edge are going to pay for what they’ve done to us. Oh brother, testify! Edge: I’ve achieved a lot at Summerslam. I came out victorious in the TLC match in 2000, I took the Intercontinental Championship in 2001 and 2004, and last year I beat the living hell out of that sucker, Matt Hardy. But this year will be the most satisfying of all, because I am going to kill the legacy of the “Dudley Boyz.” Rob Van Dam: Tonight, I’m going to remind everyone why I’m Mr. Pay-Per-View! Tonight I take the first step in making sure that no one chants “ECW” ever again! Team 3D is going down, as well as their entire shameful “Dudley Boy” reputation! James Gibson: This is my first Summerslam, and I have the opportunity to become the first ever Boston Harbor Champion. I came to NEW for one reason: to win as much gold as I damn well could. Failure is not an option tonight. Mick Foley: The last time I performed at a Summerslam, I won the WWE Championship. Tonight, after six and a half years, I return to hell in a cell. Tommy Dreamer, you may call yourself the “Innovator of Violence” but I’m the hardcore legend! I’ve been slammed on thumb tacks, been tossed off the top of that damn cell, been handcuffed and cracked open with a chair more times than I can remember, and I’ve come back for more! There is nothing you can do to me in this match that is any worse than I have endeared in the past! I have become stronger, Tommy Dreamer, and after tonight people will call you the “Innovator of getting your ass kicked!” Tommy Dreamer: Mick Foley talks a tough act, but I know his weakness. He is an old man, broken down, and until recently was retired. I am stronger than he is, I am faster, and I am more deadly when it comes to utilizing my surroundings. Mick Foley is going to rue the day he ever crossed paths with Tommy Dreamer. With that, the pyro explodes, the music plays, and President Rowe and Professor Plague welcome us to Summerslam! Rowe: Tonight is the grandest night in NEW history! This is the 19th annual Summerslam, and we’re live from Boston, Massachusetts! Plague: And what a fantastic show we have ahead of us! Tonight Chris Jericho is going to take the NWA World title away from The Rock! Rowe: Now we don’t know that for sure, I say there is a good chance that The Rock will take the NEW Championship from Jericho! We’ll have to wait and see, it’s now time for our opening contest! Match One: Rhino, Sonjay Dutt, and Shark Boy vs Sonny Siaki, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark This match was basically just to get these guys on the show while saving the Siaki/Rhino rematch for later on. The heels dominated the early going of the match, with Brian Kendrick being needlessly aggressive with Sonjay Dutt. Dutt makes a hot tag to Rhino, who cleans house on Clark and Kendrick, with Siaki avoiding any tags. Rhino tags in Shark Boy, who stays in control for a few minutes before falling to the Siakalypse. Siaki covers Shark Boy for the victory at 8:34. Winners: Sonny Siaki, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark @ 7:12, *** (76/69/84) Plague: Ha! There goes Rhino’s undefeated streak! Rowe: Now, Rhino’s team may have lost the match, but Rhino still has not been pinned or made to submit in NEW. Plague: I’ll be counting on Sonny Siaki to change that in the near future. Rowe: Up next is the match to determine who will face the Boston Harbor Champion next month at Manchester Mayhem. Plague: Keep beating around the bush, Rowe, we all know it’s going to be Rene Dupree. Match Two: Rene Dupree vs Ron Killings Dupree and Killings have brought their “A” game tonight. They tie up and Killings takes over with a takedown. Killings takes control for the early going, hitting some spinning kicks and some clean armdrags. Dupree escapes the ring for a breather, and the referee threatens to count him out. Dupree returns at the last possible second, and tackles the left leg of Ron Killings. Dupree drops a big knee drop on the left leg and puts it into a leglock. Killings is in big trouble, but he makes it to the ropes. Killings takes control of the match back, and sets up Dupree for the Scissor Kick. As Killings goes to execute the move, his injured left leg buckles and he hits the mat hard. Dupree celebrates with the “French Tickler” and then goes for his version of the Michinoku Driver! Dupree hits the move perfectly, and goes for the cover, but Killings gets a foot on the rope. Dupree is outraged and argues with the referee, but Killings gets to his feet in the mean time. Killings, hobbling around one his injured leg, nails Dupree with a series of punches and finishes it up with a swinging DDT! Killings then puts Dupree into a full nelson and after a few seconds of struggling, Dupree taps out! Winner: Ron “The Truth” Killings @ 11:45, ***1/2 (84/80/88) Rowe: What a match! When The Truth realized he couldn’t do his normal finisher, he changed strategies and forced Dupree to tap out! Plague: Yes, lovely, let’s get onto the next match. I’ve been looking forward to this one! Rowe: Hold on, we’re getting word that there has been an incident in the back! Backstage segment: Down with Brown In the back, there is a bloodied D’Lo Brown laying unconscious on the floor. His partner, Tajiri, looks horrified and is screaming to find out who did this. Unutilized star, J.R. Ryder, is hanging around in the back. He tells Tajiri that he saw America’s Most Wanted hanging around this part of the locker room area and thinks they might’ve taken out Tajiri. General Manager Eric Bischoff comes in and informs Tajiri that he has twenty minutes to find a replacement partner for his match tonight against AMW. Tajiri looks upset and walks right past Ryder, who looks a tad offended for not being asked. (74%) Rowe: Someone has taken out D’Lo Brown! Plague: I’m sure America’s Most Wanted had NOTHING to do with this! Rowe: Either that’s sarcasm or you’re a naïve bastard. Match Three: John Cena and Chris Sabin vs John Bradshaw Layfield and Trevor Murdoch The match starts off with Cena making it clear that he wants to be the legal man for his team. JBL wants none of Cena, so he forces Trevor Murdoch to start off. Cena and Murdoch tie up and spend some time stalling. Murdoch slaps Cena on the face and tries to wear him down with a headlock. Cena fights out of it and drops Murdoch on his back. Cena tags in Sabin, and the pace picks up quite a bit. Sabin goes through a series of armdrags on Murdoch and hits a couple of drop kicks in between. Murdoch is in a daze and tags in JBL. JBL is pissed and takes it out on Sabin. JBL violently whips Sabin into the turnbuckles and stomps a mud hole into him. JBL pulls Sabin to his feet and elbows him back into the corner. JBL goes to shove Sabin’s skull into the ring post, but Sabin counters long enough to drive JBL’s head in instead. JBL is in a bit of a daze and gets caught with a Sabin drop kick. Sabin leaps to the top rope and hits a big elbow drop. Sabin goes for the cover, but it only gets two. Sabin tags in Cena, who cleans house JBL and takes a second to knock Murdoch off the apron. Cena catches JBL with the F-U and plants him. Cena immediately tags in Sabin, who climbs to the top rope and hits a big moonsault on JBL! Sabin covers JBL and it gets 1…..2…….3! Sabin pinned JBL? Holy crap! Winners: John Cena and Chris Sabin @ 8:23, **3/4 (79/80/79) Rowe: Chris Sabin has pinned JBL! This has got to be the upset of the year! Plague: Well, it was really Cena who beat JBL, I’d say he just let Sabin have the pin to prove a point. Rowe: Either way, it’s in the record books. On August 20th 2006, Chris Sabin beat John Bradshaw Layfield. Right as Rowe is saying this, America’s Most Wanted makes their entrance. They pose with the NEW Tag Team Championship belts and wait to see if they still have a match for tonight. Tajiri makes his entrance and he is now smiling. AMW looks confused as to why Tajiri could be smiling, but then they realize what is going on when some new entrance music plays and some words appear on the titantron. They look horrified when they realize that Tajiri’s partner is none other than… Jushin “Thunder” Liger! Match Four: America's Most Wanted © vs Liger and Tajiri (NEW Tag Team Championship) AMW is completely flustered at first. Liger goes after Harris while Tajiri goes after Storm. Liger and Tajiri simultaneously take down each member of AMW with flying head scissors. AMW both bounce to their feet and are taken down by simultaneous drop kicks. AMW flee the ring to regroup. On commentary, Plague is whining that AMW was not prepared for Liger, as they were expecting D’Lo Brown. AMW finally return to the ring and attempt to form a brawl with their opponents. This turns out to be a lost cause as Tajiri strikes Chris Harris with some ultra stiff kicks and Jushin Liger hits a beautiful spinning kick on James Storm. The two on two battle continues on until the referee finally threatens to disqualify both teams. Tajiri and Storm become the legal men and put on a pretty good back and forth match for several minutes. Tajiri puts Storm in the tarantula, but breaks it as fear for a disqualification. Storm hits a blind low blow on Tajiri and goes for an unsuccessful cover. Storm tags in Harris, who quickly hits the Catatonic on Tajiri. Liger breaks up the cover attempt. While the referee is scolding Liger for the interference, Tajiri spews some green mist into the eyes of Chris Harris. Harris is weakened and suffers some brutal shots to the head courtesy of Tajiri’s feet. James Storm rushes into the ring, but Tajiri tosses him over the ropes. Liger climbs up to the top turnbuckle and delivers a beautiful moonsault onto Storm on the floor. With Storm down and out, Tajiri hits a head scissors into a roll-up on Harris and covers him for the 1….2….3! We have new champions! Winners and NEW Tag Team Champions: Tajiri and Jushin “Thunder” Liger @ 14:12, ****1/4 (85/75/96) Rowe: What a shocker! Jushin Liger makes his NEW debut and becomes Tag Team Champion in the process! Plague: This is an outrage and I cannot believe you allowed this to happen! AMW were ready to battle D’Lo Brown tonight, not Liger, they had no way to prepare! Rowe: Oh, be quiet. I’m sure they’ll get a rematch sooner than later. I'm a bit concerned about how D'Lo Brown is going to react when he wakes up and realizes what happened! Match Five: Team 3D vs Rob Van Dam and Edge The stipulation to this match is simple. If Team 3D wins, they can have the trademarks to the “Dudley Boyz” back. If they lose, Eric Bischoff is going to lock up the trademarks into a Swiss bank account. RVD and Edge come out first to some great heel heat. RVD begins his trademark self-pointing gesture, but stops halfway through and flips the fans off. Team 3D charges out to the ring and they begin a brawl with RVD and Edge before their music even stops playing! The match is on! Brother Ray and Edge spill over the ropes and brawl up the entrance ramp. D-Von and RVD are left in the ring and they tie up. D-Von uses his brawling skills to pummel RVD into the corner, but RVD flips over D-Von and hits a leg sweep to take him down. RVD hits a split legged moonsault on D-Von and goes for the cover. D-Von gets a shoulder up and the match continues. Meanwhile, Edge and Brother Ray have taken their spots on the apron and await their tags. RVD tags in Edge, who pounds away on D-Von’s back. D-Von manages to fight back after taking several minutes of abuse and tags in Brother Ray. Ray cleans house on RVD and Edge, hitting the Bubba Bomb on Edge and doing his dancing jab routine with RVD. RVD is in a daze, but regains focus and hits a karate kick on Ray. RVD hits his rolling thunder on Ray and goes for the cover. Ray kicks out. RVD tags in Edge, who immediately goes for the spear. Ray dodges the spear, and Edge barely stops himself from colliding with the turnbuckles. D-Von grabs Edge by the hair and throws him to the mat. RVD charges in to gain some revenge, but gets hit with a brutal 3D! RVD is down and out, but Edge comes out of no where to hit the spear on Brother Ray, who falls into D-Von, thrusting him out of the ring. Edge covers Brother Ray and it’s 1…..2……3! Edge and RVD have defeated Team 3D! Winners: Edge and Rob Van Dam @ 13:55, **** (89/90/90) Rowe: The ever opportunistic Edge has struck again! Plague: Good, this means that we won’t have to worry about ever seeing the “Dudley Boyz” take over NEW. No “D-Von, get the tables” or “Wassup!” or any of that crap. Rowe: A name doesn’t make the wrestler. Team 3D may have suffered a loss tonight, but they are still one of the greatest tag teams in the history of wrestling and they are no where near finished. Match Six: Mick Foley vs Tommy Dreamer (Hell in a Cell) Tommy Dreamer is subbing for Ric Flair tonight, who has been taking time off to battle his personal demons. Dreamer makes his entrance first to some respectable heat. Mick Foley comes out to an explosive pop. Foley is also dressed as Cactus Jack tonight, which seems to frighten Dreamer. Foley enters the cell and the match is on! Dreamer is yielding his kendo stick and takes a shot at Foley. Foley ducks and lands some punches on Dreamer, causing him to drop the weapon. Dreamer fires back with some shots of his own, cornering Foley. Dreamer grabs his kendo stick and succeeds in cracking it over the head of Mick Foley, busting him open in the early going. Foley looks like he is actually enjoying this! Dreamer goes for the cover, but Foley kicks out. Dreamer lifts up Foley and attempts the Dreamer Driver. Foley escapes the hold and clotheslines Dreamer, and himself, over the ropes. Foley grabs Dreamer by the head and rams it into the cell! Dreamer is in a daze and is soon having his forehead grinded against the unforgiving cell. Dreamer is now busted open, and Foley is laughing. Foley goes to Irish whip Dreamer, but Dreamer counters and sends Foley flying shoulder first into the cell. The causes the cell wall to bust open a bit, creating an escape to the outside. Rather than escape just now, Foley charges back at Dreamer and pushes him back into the cell. Foley scoops up Dreamer and tosses him into the cell. Foley goes to under the ring and pulls out a sheet of wood… with barbed wire glued to it! Foley slides the barbed wire into the ring and tries to powerbomb Dreamer onto it. Dreamer counters and DDTs Foley right onto the barbed wire! This, of course, means that Dreamer suffers just as much as Foley does, as Dreamer’s back comes in contact with the wire, as does Foley’s head. Foley is now bleeding heavily, and Dreamer has cuts all over his arms and forehead. Dreamer goes for another cover, but somehow Foley has kicked out! This time, Foley snaps and aggressively assaults Dreamer with some punches and even bites him on the face! Dreamer escapes through the hole in the side of the cell. Foley is now chasing after Dreamer, who is climbing up the cage. Foley follows him to the very top of the cell and they resume brawling at the top. Dreamer grabs Foley by the head, and almost succeeds in sending Foley flying off onto the announce table. Foley fights back and tries to do the same to Dreamer. Dreamer instead hits Foley with the Dreamer Driver… and the roof of the cell breaks! Foley falls right through to the ring, breaking the ring in the process! Dreamer barely was able to hang on to the top and not fall down! Foley has got to be dead! Dreamer climbs back down into the ring and covers Foley. It gets a 1….2…..NO! What?!?! Foley kicked out! Foley might’ve kicked out, but he’s clearly in no position to keep wrestling, so Dreamer easily hits another Dreamer Driver and goes for another cover. This time it’s 1….2…..3! Dreamer has defeated Foley! Winner: Tommy Dreamer @ 24:54, **3/4 (90/98/73) Rowe: What a war that was! Dreamer and Foley did everything in their power to hurt one another! Plague: That match was nasty indeed. I have some new found respect for Tommy Dreamer, he really lived up to his name as the “Innovator of Violence” this evening! The cell then rises back to the ceiling and a ring crew comes out to repair the ring where Foley landed. EMTs are attending to Foley and they help him walk out of the arena since he refuses to accept a stretcher. Dreamer celebrates his victory, all the while with blood pouring out of him, a moment that none of us will soon forget. A hype video for the Boston Harbor Championship match plays. The video includes footage of each participant winning the qualifying matches two weeks ago on Saturday Night. Match Seven: Carlito vs Kid Kash vs Doug Basham vs James Gibson (Boston Harbor Championship) This is a fatal fourway elimination match. For the first fall, there will be two men in the match at a time, with tags being made. Referee TJ Moody holds up the shiny new Boston Harbor Championship before the match, with the participants looking at it longingly. The bell rings, and the match starts off with Doug Basham against Carlito. They tie up, and Basham is playing de facto babyface. Carlito rakes the eyes of Basham and puts him in a head lock. Basham fights out of it, but gets caught with an immediate back cracker. Carlito goes for the cover, but Basham kicks out. Frustrated, Carlito tags in James Gibson by slapping him. Gibson chops the hell out of Carlito, before moving on to putting Basham into a front head lock. Carlito gets involved by dropping a knee on Gibson, interrupting his submission hold in the process. Carlito returns to the turnbuckle, but Gibson charges him, knocking him down, and making a tag in the process. Meanwhile, Doug Basham tags in Kid Kash, who had been sitting back and enjoying this entire ordeal. Gibson continues his assault on Carlito outside of the match, but gets whipped into the steel steps. Gibson clutches his right knee as if it’s been hurt. Carlito triumphantly returns to the ring, but is caught off guard by a drop kick from Kid Kash. Kash aggressively pummels away at Carlito, and for about three minutes they exchange holds, mostly wrist locks, which puts the crowd to sleep in the process. Carlito fights out of Kash’s latest wrist lock by jumping into the ropes and flipping Kash onto his ass. Carlito tags in Doug Basham, who tries to continue the assault on Kash. Kash rakes the eyes of Basham and bull dogs him. Kash then hits the dead level on Basham and pins him for an elimination at 10:23! Rowe: Kid Kash has eliminated Doug Basham! Plague: Basham put up a hell of a fight, tonight just wasn’t his night. The match restarts with Carlito rejoining the fray against Kid Kash. Gibson is still struggling to get back to the apron, after his apparent knee injury at the hands of Carlito. Meanwhile, Kid Kash and Carlito put on a dazzling display of numerous rest holds, which earns them a “boring” chant from the crowd, who were still fired up over the Hell in a Cell match. Carlito ends the monotony by springboarding off the ropes and hitting Kid Kash with a crossbody. Carlito goes for the cover, but Kash kicks out. Kash goes for the dead level on Carlito, but it gets reversed. Carlito hits a handy DDT on Kash and goes for the cover, but it’s no good as Kash kicks out. Kash finally does hit the dead level on Carlito and goes for the cover and it’s 1….2…..NO! Carlito kicked out of the dead level, how in the hell! Carlito is hurt though and tries to tag in Gibson. Gibson has his hand extended for the tag, but pulls it back at the last second as revenge for what Carlito did to him earlier in the match. Kash catches Carlito and hits a second dead level and this time covers him for the 1….2….3! Kash eliminates Carlito at 19:22! Rowe: Carlito’s evil deed from earlier has bitten him right in the ass! Plague: What poor sportsmanship is on display by that piece of white trash, James Gibson! The match continues with a hobbling James Gibson getting into the ring to tangle with a ferocious Kid Kash. Kash smells blood and immediately targets the right knee of Gibson. Kash whips Gibson into the ropes and ties his legs up in the turnbuckle. Kash slams the right knee of Gibson right into the ring post, causing Gibson to curse loudly! Kash returns to the ring and locks in a half Boston crab, and you can guess on which leg. Gibson is in big trouble and desperately tries to make it to the ropes. This becomes hopeless as Kash makes sure they are dead centered in the ring. After what feels like an eternity, Gibson is able to fight out of the hold and drop Kash right onto his back. For the first time since he got back into the ring, Gibson is fired up and manages to take Kash down with several suplexes and arm drags. Gibson even fights through the pain enough to hit a brutal enziguri on Kash and gets a nearfall as a result. The crowd is getting more interested in the match now, as the action goes back and forth. Kash goes for the dead level one more time, but Gibson reverses it and manages to trap him into a modified dragon sleeper! Kash has no choice but to tap out from the pain at 28:45! Winner and Boston Harbor Champion: James Gibson @ 28:45, **3/4 (71/58/84) Rowe: James Gibson came to NEW for gold and tonight he has become the first ever Boston Harbor Champion! Plague: Wait a damn minute! Kid Kash beat two people tonight, but he doesn’t get to be the champion? What type of twisted logic is that! Rowe: Kid Kash wrestled a hell of a match, but in the end James Gibson proved himself to be the better man. Plague: Better man, my ASS! Rowe: Anyways, it is now time for the main event. This is the match we’ve all been waiting for. It’s time for Chris Jericho, the reigning NEW Champion, to face The Rock, the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion! Both titles are on the line, winner takes all! Match Eight: The Rock © vs Chris Jericho © (NWA vs. NEW Championship) The Rock comes out first, and proudly holds up the NWA World Championship, which he won last month at the Great American Bash. Chris Jericho comes out second, with the NEW Championship over his shoulder. Jericho won the NEW title two months ago at River Rumble, against The Rock. The bell rings and the match is on! Both men do quite a bit of stalling in the early going, as Rock tries to milk some more cheers from the fans and Jericho earns himself some boos. They tie up and Rock wins the initial grapple and pushes Jericho to the mat. Insulted, Jericho leaps back up and slaps The Rock across the face. This fires up The Rock, as he hits some of his trademark punches on Jericho. Jericho manages to block a couple of them, and chops the life out of The Rock. Jericho continues his chopping attack, and The Rock’s chest becomes beat red within seconds. Jericho hits an enziguri on Rock, and goes for the first cover of the match, which The Rock kicks out of. Jericho hits some more chops on The Rock, this time succeeding in causing Rock to bleed out of his chest. The Rock is livid and hits some stiffer than usual punches on Jericho, busting him open the hard way. Jericho is bleeding from the eye brow now, and this lights a fire in him as well. The two hated enemies brawl outside of the ring and through the audience. The Rock grabs a chair and cracks it over Jericho’s head, which the referee allows since it is really important for their to be a winner tonight. Jericho fights back with a chair shot of his own. The brawl spills back into the ringside area, and Jericho whips The Rock into the announce table. Jericho sets himself up to repeat the spot from Saturday Night (when he put Rock through the table using an Asai moonsault). This time, Rock moves out of the way, and Jericho’s Asai moonsault results in him hitting the table himself. Jericho is down and out. Rock struggles to lift Jericho back into the ring and goes for the cover. It took so long that Jericho manages to get a shoulder up. Rock then waits for Jericho to get up so he can hit the Rock Bottom. Rock goes for the move, but Jericho was expecting it and traps Rock in the Walls of Jericho! This is how Jericho beat the Rock at River Rumble, and the crowd knows this because they are going nuts! Rock ends up reversing the move and Jericho hits the mat face first. Jericho, in a daze, is then trapped by The Rock in the sharp shooter! Jericho tries really hard to make it to the ropes, but is beaten and taps out! Winner and NWA and NEW Champion: The Rock @ 21:44, ***3/4 (95/100/84) Rowe: The Rock did it! The Rock did it! He now holds the NWA and NEW titles! Plague: What! Now what’s going to happen when The Rock goes on tour? He is expected in CSW starting in September! Rowe: This will have to be addressed at a later time, but I wouldn’t worry. Now that we have a Boston Harbor Champion, James Gibson could rise to carry NEW in Rock’s absence. Plague: I don’t know how I feel about that. Rowe: It doesn’t matter. Tonight, The Rock is the undisputed top dog in New England Wrestling, and no one, not even Chris Jericho, can deny that! Folks, thank you for ordering Summerslam! Overall: 84 We got a 1.24 buy rate for 'Summerslam'! The attendance was 18087 people. We made $3100000 from pay-per-view revenue. We made $723480 from ticket sales. |

NEW Saturday Night August 26th 2006 Live from Portland, Maine! In-ring segment: The Double Champion “If you smeeeeeeeeeell what the Rock is cooking” blares across the arena, and out comes the NWA and newly crowned NEW Champion! The Rock makes it to the ring and takes a microphone. Rock: Finally… THE ROCK HAS COME BACK… to Portland. Six days ago, The Rock went against Chris Jericho, title against title, and emerged not only as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion… but also as the people’s NEW Champion. Now all week, The Rock has been repeatedly asked the same question… “what next?” You see, The Rock is an NEW superstar, and a damn proud one at that, but starting next week The Rock must go on tour. As NWA Champion, it is The Rock’s job to tour the different NWA territories and square off against the best of the best. The Rock may end up trading punches with Triple H, or The Rock could be facing back the challenge of Dave Batista. Hell, the Rock may be heading south of the border to take out Juventud Guerrera, or maybe even to the mid-Atlantic to kick Christopher Daniel’s candy ass! But now The Rock is the NEW Champion as well. Therefore, The Rock has decided to… (Rock is cut off by some familiar music). John Bradshaw Layfield has come out to the arena, already holding a mic. JBL: Rock, I’m afraid I can’t let you do this. There is no way in hell I’m going to let you take our territory belt to any other NWA federation. I would rather die than risk seeing the NEW Championship defended in CSW, M-A, Mexico, or even in the mid-Atlantic. I could give a damn if you leave us and tour, but that NEW title is staying right here! Rock: Now excuse me… “Bradshaw” is it? Are you challenging The Rock? JBL: You’re damn right I am! I want a shot at the NEW Championship and I want it tonight! Before The Rock can accept, he is interrupted by more familiar music. Chris Jericho comes out, holding his own mic. Chris Jericho: John Bradley Lakefield… will you please SHUT THE HELL UP! Where do you get off thinking you get a title shot before me! At Summerslam, you got beaten by Chris Sabin and Mid-Atlantic’s John Cena. I have my rematch clause for the NEW title, and no one is getting a shot before me! Rock: Well, The Rock has a proposition for you. Tonight, it will be The Rock defending the NEW Championship… against Bradshaw… and Chris Jericho. But then, when The Rock is done beating the holy hell out of your monkey asses, The Rock will take his title belts and hit the road and you will just have to give some respect to our new Boston Harbor Champion, James Gibson, in The Rock’s absence. JBL: You’re on, Rock. But I promise you this, I will do whatever it takes to make sure you don’t leave as the champion… even if it means sacrificing myself at all costs. Plague: Well, Rowe, The Rock just decided what our main event is going to be tonight. What are you going to do about it? Rowe: Nothing, I agree with The Rock. However, it doesn’t seem fair to me that JBL is getting a title shot when he just lost at Summerslam. If JBL gets a title shot, then I think Chris Sabin should get one too. Next week, I’ll grant Sabin a title shot, against whichever champion he wants to face… or is still around. 95% Match One: Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark vs Johnny Devine and Chris Sabin The match starts off with a bang, as Sabin and Devine both hit simultaneous arm drags and drop kicks on Kendrick and Clark. Kendrick and Sabin wrestle the majority of the match against each other, and it turns into a pretty great little television match. Sabin hits the Cradle suplex on Clark and goes for the cover, when suddenly a fan jumps over the railing. The fan attacks both Clark and Sabin, causing a double disqualification at 5:23! The fan, who is wearing a superman t-shirt, bolts off back into the crowd before security can do anything about it! No contest: ***1/4 (77/66/88) Rowe: What the hell? A fan just ran in and took down two NEW stars? Plague: Is he a wrestler? He did look familiar! Rowe: God, I hope he’s a wrestler, not that it makes a difference, he had no business in attacking our stars. Backstage segment: The mysterious fan. Eric Bischoff is storming around in the back, demanding the security forces track down the fan who got involved with the previous match. Bischoff storms around and almost walks right into Rob Van Dam. Bischoff: Did you see that! A fan attacked two of our guys! He has some nerve, I’m going to find his ass and get him arrested! RVD: Hold on, Eazy E. That was no fan! Bischoff: What? Don’t tell me he’s some friend of yours. RVD: Actually, that was Chris Hero. Bischoff: Who? RVD: Chris Hero. He was a wrestler for PTL. Bischoff: What? RVD: You know, Pushing the Limits. They were an NWA territory, I wrestled there for about a month. It recently went under. Bischoff: So Chris Hero worked for PTL, and now he’s interfering in MY show! What do you think he wants? RVD: I don’t know, probably a job. Bischoff: Well, I don’t want to give him a job. In fact, I just hired back Danny Basham, who was feeling very unhappy about his decision to work for PTL, so I’m at the end of my generous streak. If I see Hero, or any more former PTL guys around here, I’m going to have them thrown out of the building. RVD: Sounds good, buddy. I’m about to head to the ring. Oh, you got the brief case I wanted? Bischoff: Damn right. (Hands the case to RVD). Have fun with that. RVD: Believe me, Edge and I will. 78% In-ring segment: The “return” of the Dudleyz! The old Dudley Boyz music plays and their pyro goes off, and the crowd goes wild. Team 3D must be rebelling by being the Dudley even though they lost the rights to do so… or not. The crowd’s cheers turn to boos when they realize it’s actually Edge and Rob Van Dam coming out to the ring dressed in Dudley Boy attire. They take microphones. Edge: Waasssssuuup! My name is Edge Dudley, and this is my friend, Rob Van Dudley. We’re the Dudley Boyz! RVD: That’s right, when we defeated Team 3D at Summerslam, Eric Bischoff decided he would rather give us the rights to the Dudleyz instead of locking it away in a Swiss Bank Account. Now we’re here to entertain you! Edge: That’s a great idea, but I’ve got a better idea. You see, this entire Dudley Boy thing is… well, stupid. So we’ve decided that we’re going to set this brief case, containing the legal papers to the “Dudley Boyz” copyright, on fire. RVD gets out his lighter and a small bottle of gasoline. They prepare to burn the case right in the ring, when Team 3D’s music plays! Team 3D rush out and a brawl follows. Team 3D takes down both Edge and RVD, and they grab tables from under the ring. Brother Ray powerbombs Edge through one table, while Brother Devon puts RVD through the other table. Team 3D then steal the brief case, and rush through the crowd before Edge or RVD can come to. 78% Match Two: Rhino vs Andrew Martin Sonny Siaki is on commentary for this match, though he amazingly avoids interfering. Rowe puts Rhino over as being “undefeated” but Siaki protests, saying that he defeated Rhino’s team in a six man tag at Summerslam. Rowe points out that Rhino has never been pinned, and Siaki then promises it will become his life’s work to see to it that Rhino loses. The actual match is on the short side, but Martin gets some token offense in, including a big boot and a nearfall. Rhino recovers and hits the gore for the victory at 3:24. Winner: Rhino, *** (79/72/82) After the match, Rhino celebrates in the ring, while Siaki pouts at the commentator’s desk. Siaki then informs us that he’s going to bring in a friend to beat Rhino next week on Saturday Night. Match Three: James Gibson and Ron Killings vs Kid Kash and Carlito The NEW mid-card shines! Gibson and Killings are scheduled to face each other at Manchester Mayhem, so that turns into the story of this match, as everyone wonders if they will be able to get along as a tag team. They are tested for a while, as Gibson gets isolated in the heel corner and takes a lot of abuse from Kid Kash. Kash hits the Dead Level on Gibson, but Killings makes the save. Finally, Gibson makes the hot tag to Killings, who cleans house. Carlito pulls a chain out of his tights and goes to hit Killings with it. Gibson notices first and goes to knock down Carlito, but misses a clothesline and takes down Killings. Carlito then tosses Gibson over the ropes, hits Killings with the chain anyway, and then lets Kid Kash, the legal man, pin Killings at 8:00! Winners: Kid Kash and Carlito, ***3/4 (84/76/92) In-ring segment: The NEW Tag Team Champions The newly crowned NEW Tag Team Champions, Jushin Liger and Tajiri, come out to the ring. It looks like they’re ready for a match, but something else happens. D’Lo Brown’s music plays, and out comes D’Lo. He looks furious. D’Lo: Hey Tajiri, I know you needed a tag team partner when I got taken out before our match at Summerslam, so I don’t mean anything against you. But you need to know, that when I woke up several hours later, I couldn’t remember anything about what had happened right before the attack. Then I remembered… the man who took me out as that man, Jushin Liger! (Tajiri looks shocked). Now Tajiri, I know you’re a man of honor, and I’m asking you, as a friend, to vacate that title, and join me in kicking that sucker’s ass! Tajiri and D’Lo then circle around Jushin, who is ready for a fight. D’Lo is then caught off guard when Tajiri spins around and kicks him right in the head! D’Lo hits the mat hard, and gets beaten down by Liger and Tajiri! Rowe: That was a set up! Liger took out D’Lo to get his spot at Summerslam, and Tajiri was in on it the entire time! Plague: That’s awesome! Rowe: Shut up! 78% Match Four: The Rock © vs Chris Jericho vs John Bradshaw Layfield (NEW Championship) JBL and Jericho double team The Rock in the early goings of this match. They take turns chopping and punching Rock. At one point, Jericho removes the padding from the turnbuckle, while JBL smashes away at Rock. Then they work together to double whip him right into the exposed turnbuckle. Rock is in big trouble! This ends when JBL tries to cover Rock, and Jericho stops him. Jericho goes for a cover too, and JBL breaks it up. This results in JBL and Jericho brawling, giving Rock a chance to recover. Rock ends up getting back to his feet and breaks up the JBL/Jericho brawl. Rock hits the Rock Bottom on JBL and tosses Jericho over the top rope. Rock goes for the People’s Elbow on JBL, but Jericho breaks it up with a flying forearm. Rock hits the mat, and Chris Jericho hits the lion-sault onto JBL. Rock is a little too late to break up the cover, and Jericho pins JBL at 9:23! Winner and NEW Champion: Chris Jericho, ***3/4 93/97/86 Rowe: The opportunistic Chris Jericho pinned JBL to win The Rock’s NEW Championship! Plague: OH THANK THE HEAVENS! The NEW Championship is staying in NEW, right where it belongs! Rowe: What an explosive edition of NEW Saturday Night this was! Overall: 85 We got a 2.12 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!'! The attendance level was 7188 people. We made $215640 from ticket sales. |

NEW Saturday Night September 2nd 2006 Hey, I just got back from the NEW television tapings. I had a blast, we scored some second row seats from a scalper in the parking lot, it was well worth it! There were some dark matches, but I didn't pay much attention to them. AMW battled J.R. Ryder and Daivari, and Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark did a comedy bit before the cameras started rolling. The show started off Chris Hero showing up in the front row, only this time he had some friends with him. I didn't recognize who they were, but Eric Bischoff came out to cut a promo. Bischoff had Rob Van Dam and Edge with him, and RVD knew who the men with Hero were. They were Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Adam Pearce. Bischoff told them that since they bought tickets, he couldn't have them removed from the arena, but warned them not to get involved or interfere in the show at all. Bischoff then made an announcement for Manchester Mayhem, saying that since Team 3D has refused to hand back the rights to the "Dudley Boyz" then they will have one more match. At Manchester Mayhem, it will be RVD and Edge vs Team 3D in a tables, ladders, and chairs match! Also, Bischoff said that tonight's main event would be Chris Sabin challenging Chris Jericho for the NEW Championship! (82%) Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Tajiri defeated D'Lo Brown and his special guest partner, Colt Cabana, to retain the NEW Tag Team Championship! This match was great, fast paced, and had me on the edge of my seat! The finish came when Tajiri spit the green mist in the face of Cabana and pinned him after a couple of stiff kicks to the head. (81/74/89) Kid Kash cut a backstage promo, saying bad things about James Gibson and how he's going to beat his ass for the Boston Harbor Championship tonight. Kash also made some snide remarcks about CSW and the problems they are currently facing. I thought that was a bit low, it gained some heat from the audience. (72%) James Gibson defeated Kid Kash to retain the Boston Harbor Championship! This was another exciting match, though Carlito kept interferring on the behalf of Kash. Ron Killings ran in to prevent Carlito from getting involved any more, and Gibson was able to put the trailer hitch on Kash for the submission victory. After the match, Killings and Gibson teased a brawl of their own, since they'll be facing each other at Manchester Mayhem for the Boston Harbor strap. (84/82/87) America's Most Wanted cut a backstage promo stating they were angry about losing the NEW Tag Team Championship at Summerslam, but are now focused on making sure they become the NWA Tag Team Champions again. It was a boring promo, I don't think they gained any overness from it. (62%) Sonny Siaki cut an in-ring promo, saying he found the man who will give Rhino his first NEW loss. This man defeated Rhino in under a minute in NWA:M-A, and he is the Ultimate Warrior! Rhino squashed the Ultimate Warrior in under a minute. Rhino put him down with a gore, and the crowd chanted "one more time" so Rhino obliged. After the match, Tommy Dreamer ran in and attacked Rhino, apparently at the request of Sonny Siaki. As it turns out, Rhino is going to face Dreamer at Manchester Mayhem. (73/77/64) President Rowe got on the microphone and said he wants to give NEW fans the very best wrestling in the world. He says he has made a special negotiation with NWA:M-A to have an oustanding main event for Manchester Mayhem. He brings out the man, who Rowe has picked to challenge for the NEW title at the ppv, Rey Mysterio! Mysterio comes out to a massive pop, though it brings out John Bradshaw Layfield, who is outraged. JBL says he's angry not only because Mysterio is not from NEW, but that he probably snuck into the country in the first place! Eric Bischoff then comes out and adds JBL as the special referee for the match at Manchester Mayhem, which upsets President Rowe. (87%) Chris Jericho defeated Chris Sabin to retain the NEW Championship in another great match! Actually, I could have lived without the finish, as the referee was accidently bumped by Jericho. Jericho threw Sabin over the ropes, and Sabin landed on the barricade by where Hero and his PTL friends were sitting. This caused Hero to spill his soda, which prompted him, Steen, Sydal, Pearce, and Kazarian to jump over the barricade and beat the crap out of Sabin. They rolled him back into the ring where Jericho easily pinned him. At this point, security chased the PTL guys from the arena, as Jericho celebrated a successful title defense. (87/86/89) It was a crazy show, but I'm really psyched for Manchester Mayhem and to see what happens next with the PTL guys! |

NEW Saturday Night September 9th 2006 -John Bradshaw Layfield went on one of his usual rants, about the PTL invaders, but mostly about how M-A star Rey Mysterio is getting a shot at the NEW Championship. Rey comes out and defends his place, stating that he was brought in to thrill the fans, and that should he win the NEW title at Manchester Mayhem, he will proudly defend the title at NEW events. JBL isn't buying this, and challenges Rey to a match tonight, which Rey accepts. Eric Bischoff then comes out and makes Chris Jericho the special referee for the match. (79%) Jushin Liger and Tajiri defeated D'Lo Brown and Doug Basham to retain the NEW Tag Team Championship. Tajiri pinned Basham after spitting in his face. Basically, Brown keeps getting title shots with a different partner because Brown hasn't been pinned yet. After the match, Danny Basham returned to NEW to make the save from a beat-down. (84/77/91) -Eric Bischoff cut a promo stating that he does not want to see any of the PTL invaders ever again, but he knows that he cannot do anything about it himself. That being said, he sends an open challenge out to the PTL guys. They will have a ten man tag team match at Manchester Mayhem. If they win, they will receive contracts. If they lose, they are out of the promotion for good. Bischoff states that he will be looking for volunteers on the NEW roster to represent NEW, but it has already been confirmed that Chris Sabin and Johnny Devine are recruited. (80%) Chris Sabin drew Carlito when the PTL Invaders (Chris Hero, Kevin Steen, Matt Sydal, Frankie Kazarian, and Adam Pearce) ran in and beat both of them down. Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark ran in to make the save, but they were also beaten down. It now becomes pretty obvious who the PTL guys will be facing at Manchester Mayhem. (78/79/77) -Ron Killings cut a backstage promo promising to take the Boston Harbor Championship from James Gibson at Manchester Mayhem. It was a good promo and earned Killings some over points. -Sonny Siaki came out and claimed he found someone who can soften Rhino up before facing Tommy Dreamer at Manchester Mayhem. This man has beaten Rhino in the past, it's none other than Hardcore Holly! Rhino squashed Hardcore Holly. Sonny Siaki tried interferring, but it was no good. Afterwards, Rhino started beating the crap out of Siaki, but Tommy Dreamer ran in and caned Rhino. (78/76/80) John Bradshaw Layfield beat Rey Mysterio when referee Chris Jericho attacked Mysterio and did a fast three count. Mysterio dominated the majority of the match, and was the true winner in the eyes of the fans. After the match, Mysterio started brawling with Jericho, but JBL let it go, having felt satisfied with his victory. Jericho will surely not be happy that JBL didn't help out. (85%) And that's a wrap. |

NEW Saturday Night September 16th 2006 D'Lo Brown and the Basham Brothers defeated NEW Tag Team Champions Jushin Liger and Tajiri, and Andrew Martin at 5:35. D'Lo picked up a bit of an upset victory by pinning Luger after the Lo Down. 79/76/83 -Mick Foley returned from injury and cut a promo in the ring, attacking Tommy Dreamer for his alliance with Sonny Siaki. "You're coming off of the biggest victory of your career by beating me, and now you're Siaki's toadie?!?" Foley is outraged and demands answers. Siaki cuts Foley off by saying that Siaki is the top dog in NEW, and that Dreamer is honored to be taking on Rhino at Manchester Mayhem for him. This brings out Eric Bischoff, who makes Foley and Rhino vs. Siaki and Dreamer tonight's main event. (85%) Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson defeated Kid Kash at 8:30 to retain the title. This was announced to be Kash's last chance at the belt as long as Gibson holds it. Ron Killings, Gibson's opponent at Manchester Mayhem, did commentary during the match. After the match, Killings entered the ring and asked to shake hands with Gibson. Gibson was suspicious and left the ring instead. This left Killings fuming. 84/82/87 -Backstage, Rey Mysterio cut a promo venting his frustrations over his loss to JBL last week. Mysterio says that he doesn't care that JBL is going to be the referee for his NEW title shot at Chris Jericho at Manchester Mayhem, Mysterio is walking out of Manchester with the NEW title, and JBL won't be able to stop him. (77%) Chris Hero, Frankie Kazarian, and Matt Sydal defeated Chris Sabin, Johnny Devine, and Carlito at 6:44. Kazarian was able to isolate Devine and rolled him up for the victory. Afterwards, the other PTL guys, Kevin Steen and Adam Pearce, flooded into the ring for a beat-down. Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark made the save, and threats were exchanged. 66/50/83 -Chris Jericho came out to the ring and cut a frustrated promo. He feels like even though he's getting to main event a pay-per-view without The Rock there to undermine him, now he feels like he's being left out again. Jericho is furious that all the attention is on Rey Mysterio, and on JBL being the referee. Everyone is wondering if Mysterio can overcome JBL, and NOT Jericho! JBL comes out to the ring and gets in Jericho's face. JBL says that he doesn't want to see the NEW title go to Mysterio, but lately he doesn't really want to see it on Jericho either. They stare intensely at each other, when President Rowe gets up from his commentary desk and makes Jericho vs. JBL vs. Mysterio, non-title, next week. Rob Van Dam defeated Sonjay Dutt at 4:15 in a short, but very good match. After the match, Team 3D ran in to try and take RVD out with a ladder, angered that RVD is still calling himself "Rob Van Dudley." Edge makes the save, and spears Brother Ray into a ladder. Team 3D is layed out once more. 79/71/87 Mick Foley and Rhino defeated Tommy Dreamer and Sonny Siaki by disqualification when Dreamer busted Foley over the head with a kendo stick at 10:45. A brawl resulted with Rhino and Dreamer brawling up the entrance ramp, leaving Siaki and Foley in the ring. Foley pulled out Mr. Socko and made Siaki pass out with the mandible claw! By the way, it's official, Mick Foley will take on Sonny Siaki at Manchester Mayhem! 84/87/79 Overall: 81 We got a 2.12 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!'! The attendance level was 7738 people. We made $232140 from ticket sales. |

NEW Saturday Night September 23rd 2006 Carlito cut a promo in the ring, trashing the PTL Invaders by saying that "PTL was not cool." This results in the five PTL Invaders coming out and surrounding him. Right as they are about to pound the crap out of Carlito, the NEW team of Chris Sabin, Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark makes the save. (81%) Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark defeated PTL's Kevin Steen and Adam Pearce at 7:24 in an awesome, competitive match. The crowd didn't get into it too much, as none of the participants were all that over. The finish came when Kendrick hit the Sliced Bread #2 on Steen, and pinned him. After the match, Team NEW and the PTL Invaders had a five on five brawl. (71/55/88) Eric Bischoff was in his office, when America's Most Wanted, the Basham Brothers, and D'Lo Brown charge in, all wanting a shot at the NEW Tag Team Championship. Bischoff told them all they could compete for the title in a four way match at Manchester Mayhem, and ordered D'Lo to find a partner he could depend on this time. (88%) Ron Killings defeated Xavier at 5:35 in a nice little match. Xavier got some adequate offense in, and Killings sold well for him. In the end, Killings put Xavier away with the scissors kick. After the match, Kid Kash inexplicably ran in to beat on Killings, until Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson made the save. The mutual respect between Killings and Gibson seems to be intact heading into their bout at Mancester Mayhem. (74/66/82) Mick Foley cut a promo defending his actions against Tommy Dreamer and Sonny Siaki. Foley says that he does not want to sound arrogant, but he is a legend, and that Dreamer beating him in Hell in a Cell should have been a big deal. Foley is angry that Dreamer does not know how good he is capable of being. This brings out Siaki, who calls Foley "worthless" and the "lousiest excuse for a legend he has ever seen." Siaki says that he's already beaten a true legend in the Undertaker, and that beating Foley at Manchester Mayhem will be a piece of cake. (88%) Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson defeated Edge at 8:35 to retain the championship. Edge had hit Gibson with a low blow, and was ready to steal the title when Team 3D ran in. Brother Devon distracted the referee while Brother Ray hit the Bubba Bomb on Edge, allowing Gibson to cover him for the victory. After the match, Rob Van Dam ran in to prevent any further attack. (83/85/79) Rey Mysterio defeated John Bradshaw Layfield and Chris Jericho at 10:21 in a non-title match. The match was fast paced and exciting, and Jericho basically decided he wanted to preserve himself for Manchester Mayhem and did not save JBL from being pinned by Mysterio after a West Coast Pop. With JBL as the referee at Manchester Mayhem, Jericho's selfish decision could come back to bite him in the ass... (90/92/88) Overall: 83 We got a 2.17 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!'! The attendance level was 7716 people. We made $231480 from ticket sales. |

Manchester Mayhem September 29th 2006 The opening video has a quite little segment on the history of Manchester, NH, and how it has grown rapidly over the past couple decades. The video distorts into “Revelations” by Audioslave, with shots of Rey Mysterio, JBL, and Chris Jericho all acting intense. Tonight’s main event is sure to be talked about for years, it’s Rey Mysterio challenging Chris Jericho for the NEW Championship, with the xenophobic JBL as the special guest referee! The pyro explodes, the fans cheer, and President Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary! Rowe: Welcome to the first annual Manchester Mayhem, from NEW’s home town of Manchester, New Hampshire! Plague: I wouldn’t be bragging about that Rowe, this town really sucks. Rowe: I warned you, no bad-mouthing Manchester on air, no matter how much you hate it. Plague: You know, I’d like this job a lot more if you would quit violating my right of free speech. Just like this opening contest. These PTL Invaders have got to go! Rowe: You know, I might not always like how the PTL guys get their business done, but they are a hell of a talented group, and I would love to have them under contract. Match One: Carlito, Chris Sabin, Johnny Devine, Brian Kendrick, and Jerrelle Clark vs. Chris Hero, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Adam Pearce Surprisingly to no one, this match turns into a real spot-fest. The opening minutes has no tagging, with a five on five brawl. Finally, everyone spills out of the ring, leaving Chris Sabin alone with Matt Sydal, and they are declared the legal men. Sabin and Sydal put on a thrilling stalemate sequence, earning some applause from the crowd, but it ends when Kazarian interrupts with a missile drop-kick on Sabin. This results in Sabin’s teammates storming the ring to chase Kazarian out, but the PTL guys fight back and the five on five brawl continues at ringside. Brian Kendrick escapes long enough to climb to the top turnbuckle, and hits a beautiful moonsault on the entire group, including his own partners. The NEW guys recover first, and throw Sydal back into the ring, for Sabin to cover, but Sydal kicks out. Sydal makes the tag to Adam Pearce, who uses his strength to overpower the smaller Kendrick. The match continues at lightning pace for the next several minutes, with each member of both teams getting appropriate ring time. Finally it comes down to Chris Hero and Chris Sabin, alone with the others brawling. Chris Hero hits a blind low blow on Sabin, but Carlito runs in to make the save. Carlito corners Hero, but turns around and spits right in Sabin’s face! Carlito hits the back cracker on Sabin, and leaves him for Hero, who puts Sabin in the Hangman’s Clutch. Sabin has no choice but to tap out at 15:12! Winners and official NEW superstars: Chris Hero, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Adam Pearce, **1/2 (71/60/83) Plague: So, Rowe, are you STILL happy that PTL are here in NEW? Rowe: That turncoat, Carlito, just stabbed his teammates in the back! This is not how I wanted those guys to get contracts! Plague: We should’ve seen this coming all along, did we all forget that Carlito came to us from PTL before it went under!?! Rowe: I’m not happy about how that match ended, but I think it’s great that the NEW roster has five new talented additions. Plague: You sicken me, Rowe. Anyways, up next is a match I have been looking forward to greatly. Rowe: Yes, Tommy Dreamer vs. Rhino, this should be brutal. Tommy Dreamer has been commissioned by Sonny Siaki to end Rhino’s undefeated streak. Can Dreamer do it? Match Two: Tommy Dreamer vs. Rhino As you might have guessed, this match is a pure brawl. Dreamer attacked Rhino on his way to the ring, and they brawled around the crowd and ringside for a good five or six minutes before finally entering the ring and having the official bell ring. Once in the ring, Dreamer immediately targets Rhino’s skull with some stiff punches, busting Rhino open in the process. Dreamer unties the padding from a turnbuckle and goes to whip Rhino into it, but the bloodied Rhino counters and Dreamer charges into the steel chest first. Dreamer is in a daze, and Rhino catches him with the GORE! Rhino goes for a cover, but Dreamer gets a foot in the ropes. Rhino positions himself for another Gore, but Dreamer ducks out of the ring. Rhino pursues Dreamer over to the announce desk, where Dreamer grabs a chair and cracks it over Rhino’s skull, earning Dreamer a disqualification loss at 5:23 (11:23 including the pre-match brawl). Winner by DQ: Rhino, **3/4 (82/85/77) Rowe: That was an intense war, too brutal for normal match rules to contain! Plague: Is Dreamer out of his mind? He was supposed to win! He was supposed to end Rhino’s undefeated streak! What’s this world coming to! Rowe: On a side note, I’d like to send a message of congratulations to Ric Flair, who has just won the NWA: Mid-Atlantic Championship! Plague: Wow, that is big news. How come he hasn’t gotten any NEW title shots yet? Rowe: Because he didn’t earn any while he was here. Plague: Oh. Match Three: Kid Kash vs. Shark Boy This match turns out to be the sleeper hit of the night. The live crowd did not get into it too much, but you can bet that there are loads of internet fans online trying to download this one. Shark Boy gets the huge pop from the younger fans that he always gets, and to their delight, gets to control Kid Kash for a large portion of the match. Kash only makes a comeback after flipping Shark Boy over the ropes. Shark Boy’s left foot hits the announce table in one of the scariest bumps seen in recent memory. Shark Boy is half crippled, making him an easy target for Kash, who spends several minutes working the injured leg. Kash goes for the Dead Level, but Shark Boy counters into a school boy, which gets a 1……2……2.9999999! This only angers Kash, who smacks Shark Boy across the face, and hits the Dead Level for real this time. Kash covers Shark Boy for the victory at 9:24. Winner: Kid Kash, **** (83/69/97) Rowe: You know, I am getting really tired of Kid Kash’s bad attitude. He may not be the one wearing the costume, but Kash was the real shark during this match. Plague: How long have you been waiting to break out a stupid line like that? Match Four: Jushin Liger and Tajiri © vs. The Basham Brothers vs. D'Lo Brown and J.R. Ryder vs. America's Most Wanted (NEW Tag Team Championship) D’Lo Brown ended up choosing J.R. Ryder, who had offered to be Tajiri’s partner last month at Summerslam, as his partner. This is Ryder’s debut match in NEW. This match actually ends up being surprisingly slow and methodical, considering the participants. Tajiri goes through a rest heavy sequence with Danny Basham, which the crowd did not like a whole lot. Things picked up when D’Lo was tagged in, as he aggressively took the fight to Tajiri. After a few minutes of being overpowered, Tajiri tags in Jushin Liger, who puts D’Lo in his place with some stiff shots. Liger inadvertently tags in Chris Harris, who ends up isolating J.R. Ryder for a while, with him and James Storm making frequent tags. It looks like America’s Most Wanted is well on their way to regaining the belts, when Ryder makes a desperate tag to Doug Basham, who cleans house on AMW. Unfortunately, Storm makes the mistake of tagging in Tajiri, who spits the green mist in Doug Basham’s face, and covers him for the victory at 11:42. Winners and STILL NEW Tag Team Champions: Jushin Liger and Tajiri, *** (79/77/823) Rowe: Liger and Tajiri do it again. I’m beginning to wonder if anyone will be able to take those tag titles away from them. Plague: Well, we know that D’Lo Brown won’t be able to. That was his third straight shot at them. Rowe: D’Lo has yet to be pinned or made to submit by either Tajiri or Liger. You have to believe that fact is driving them mad! Plague: Well, up next is Mick Foley vs. Sonny Siaki. I really hope Siaki kicks Foley’s fat ass. Rowe: This match came about when Mick Foley was outraged that Dreamer, the man who defeated him in Hell in a Cell, was playing the role of Siaki’s toadie. And then Siaki took offense at having that role looked upon in a negative way. Plague: It is a great honor to be Siaki’s toadie. Foley should be grateful that his rub can lead to such great things. Rowe: Do you even listen to yourself when you talk? Plague: I drift in and out. Match Five: Mick Foley vs. Sonny Siaki Sonny Siaki is ready for the match, looking confident, until Foley comes out dressed up as Cactus Jack. This throws Siaki off his game, and Foley overpowers him in a brawl. Siaki tries a comeback with a spinning kick, but Foley is on another planet right now. Foley head-butts Siaki into the corner, and chokes at him until the referee pulls them apart. Siaki is fired up, and tackles Foley. Foley fights back by clotheslining both of them over the ropes. Siaki is down, so Foley climbs to the apron and hits a flying elbow drop! Siaki is dead, and Foley tosses him back into the ring to pin him at 6:45. Winner: Mick Foley, **3/4 (85/89/77) Rowe: Mick Foley, or should I say, Cactus Jack picks up a decisive victory! Plague: That was not fair! Siaki was prepared to wrestle fat, stupid, lazy Mick Foley, not evil, sadistic, aggressive Cactus Jack! I demand a rematch! Rowe: I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of one. Match Six: Team 3D vs Rob Van Dam and Edge (Tables, ladders, and chairs) This match is for the copyrights to the “Dudley Boyz.” The paperwork is hanging on a cable, and the first team to climb the ladder and claim the brief case are the rightful owners of the trademarks. Edge and Rob Van Dam make their entrance first. RVD is still dressed up as “Rob Van Dudley.” This turns out to be a mistake, because Team 3D come out pissed off before the match even begins! Team 3D charges the ring, with Brother Ray taking on RVD, and Brother Devon colliding with Edge. Brother Ray and RVD brawl in the ring, with RVD getting the upper-hand, while Devon and Edge knock each other over the ropes. At ringside, Edge grabs a table, and sets it up. He smashes Devon’s head into the announce table to try and weaken him, and sets him up on the table. Edge climbs to the top turnbuckle, and goes to jump off, but Brother Ray runs over and pushes him off in the other direction. Edge lands right on the barricade! RVD attacks Brother Ray, and as revenge, hits a split legged moonsault. Meanwhile. Devon is back up and slumps Edge over the table and climbs up on the barricade. Devon leaps off to land on Edge, but Edge moves out of the way and Devon goes through the table! Edge goes to under the ring, and pulls out a ladder. He rolls it into the ring, and he and RVD begin to double team Brother Ray with the weapon. Edge starts off by charging at Ray and nailing him in the head with the top of the ladder. Then they sandwich Ray in the ladder, and RVD does his rolling thunder spot, landing on top of the ladder and crushing Ray! This hurts RVD as well, so he backs off. With Ray in serious trouble, Edge sets the ladder up and begins to climb. Edge has his hands on the briefcase, when Brother Devon storms into the ring with a chair and cracks it over Edge’s back. Edge slumps over, so Devon positions himself under Edge, and powerbombs him onto another chair he had set up! RVD is back up and attacks Devon, but Ray gets back up too. Ray scoop slams RVD, and directs Devon to climb up the ladder. Devon climbs to the top, but rather than grabbing the briefcase, screams “WAZZZZZUUUUP!” and head dives onto the groin of RVD, who had been held in place by Ray. Victory seems to be in place for Team 3D, but Edge is back up with the chair and nails Devon in the head with it. Ray gets a leg up and kicks the chair into Edge’s face. RVD is back up and hits the Van Daminator on Ray using another chair. RVD takes the ladder and leans it in the corner. RVD climbs it and sits on the top of it, allowing the ladder to land on both Ray and Devon, who are sprawled out in the ring! Edge angrily gets back up, and exits the ring. Edge returns with two more tables, and he and RVD set them up in the ring. RVD then goes and grabs the monster ladder, that was laying in the ringside area, and sets it up in the ring. Edge places both members of Team 3D on a single table, and RVD climbs the monster ladder. RVD dives off the ladder with a five star frog splash, and puts both members of Team 3D through the table! Team 3D is down and out! But then again, so is RVD! Edge climbs the ladder again, this time intending on getting the briefcase. He gets to the top and holds onto the case, but a dazed Devon is back up. He moves the ladder out from under Edge, leaving Edge hanging in the air! Devon then whips the ladder at Edge, causing him to lose his grip and land on the other table that was set up in the ring! Holy shit! Devon, still in a daze, sets the ladder back up and climbs to the top… and grabs the briefcase! Team 3D are now the owners of the “Dudley Boyz” rights again! Brother Ray, in a daze, is on his feet as well, and both brothers celebrate this important win in their storied career. Team 3D have defeated Edge and RVD at 24:24! Winners: The Dudley Boyz, ****1/2 (93/91/95) Rowe: Yes! Team 3D are allowed to be the Dudleyz again! For the first time in well over a year, the Dudley Boyz are back to their roots! Plague: Dammit! I can only imagine that Eric Bischoff is somewhere out back throwing a temper tantrum over this! Rowe: I sure hope he is. Now exciting as that match was, it is now time for the Boston Harbor Championship! Match Seven: James Gibson © vs. Ron Killings (Boston Harbor Championship) This match turns out to be the second sleeper hit of the evening. The crowd is a bit burned out from the previous match, but are still really into this one, considering that it’s face vs. face. Gibson and Killings mesh really well together, and put on a really competitive match for several minutes with neither man gaining any sort of real upper hand. After a bit they begin going for their finishers, as Killings has to escape from the Trailer Hitch on numerous occasions, and Gibson kept narrowly avoiding being caught with the scissors kick. At around the ten minute mark, Kid Kash inexplicably runs in and tries to trip Gibson. Killings, not wanting the interference, slingshots himself over the ropes onto Kid Kash. Even though it was unwanted, Gibson is able to use this distraction to finally catch Killings in the trailer hitch. Killings taps out at 11:34. Winner and STILL Boston Harbor Champion: James Gibson, ****1/4 (87/79/95) Plague: Now why in the hell did Kid Kash get involved in this match? Rowe: It has to be because Kash is not allowed any more shots at the Boston Harbor title while Gibson is champion, since Kash lost three straight shots at the belt. I bet Kash just wanted Gibson to lose the title, so he could challenge for it again. Plague: That Kid Kash is brilliant! Rowe: Well, if he keeps this crap up, maybe I’ll just have to say “no more title shots ever” or “you’re fired!” Plague: You cannot fire Kid Kash! Rowe: I don’t want to, but I’m not going to stand constant interference in matches that have nothing to do with him. Plague: Whatever… but now it is time for the big one: the main event. Rowe: And what a main event it’s going to be! Mid-Atlantic’s Rey Mysterio is the special challenger tonight for Chris Jericho’s NEW Championship! Plague: But Eric Bischoff has appointed John Bradshaw Layfield as the special guest referee! He is going to make sure that Mysterio cannot bring the NEW title with him to M-A. Rowe: I don’t know what to expect. JBL is a xenophobic son of a bitch, but he also has reason to be furious with Chris Jericho, who purposefully allowed Mysterio to pin him in that triple threat match last Saturday. In a perfect world, JBL would be an unbiased referee, but what cause will he take tonight? Will his xenophobia overcome his thirst for revenge, or vice versa? Match Eight: Chris Jericho © vs. Rey Mysterio (NEW Championship) JBL makes his entrance first, wearing the referee uniform. He does not look happy. Rey Mysterio comes out next, and is cautious to keep his distance from JBL. Next comes Chris Jericho, who has Sonny Siaki with him. Rowe and Plague speculate that the reason Siaki is with Jericho, is to make sure that JBL does not try to pull any fast ones. The match begins, and Jericho and Mysterio tie up. Jericho catches Mysterio in a scoop slam and goes for a cover in the early going. JBL does a normal count, but Mysterio kicks out. Jericho gets in JBL’s face, accusing him of making a slow count. Mysterio catches Jericho off guard with a school boy, and once again JBL does a normal count. Jericho, of course, kicks out, but JBL is being really suspicious with how non-partial he is being thus far. Jericho is angry now, and accuses JBL of doing a fast count this time. Jericho’s paranoia costs him again, as Mysterio drop kicks him from behind and puts him in a leg sweep. Jericho is hung up on the ropes, and Mysterio goes for the 619! As Mysterio is swinging around the ropes, Sonny Siaki takes a shot at him. As a result, JBL orders Siaki to be removed from ringside! Is JBL really being non-partial? Jericho is outraged now, and shoves JBL. JBL shoves Jericho back, and Mysterio goes for another school boy, though unsuccessful. From this point on, the action focuses more on Jericho and Mysterio, as they go through an awesome stalemate sequence. Jericho finally gets an upper hand, and goes for the Wall of Jericho. He gets the hold on, and Mysterio is in big trouble. Mysterio fights and claws his way for several minutes, but he finally makes it to the ropes. JBL counts to four before Jericho lets go of the hold. Jericho begins working the lower back of Mysterio, hoping to soften him up so he won’t last in the walls again. Mysterio finally gains some momentum back, and takes Jericho down with a hurricanrana. Mysterio springboards off the ropes and hits a back elbow on Jericho. Mysterio continues his assault by jumping to the top turnbuckle and hitting a dazzling moonsault on Jericho. Mysterio goes for the cover and it’s 1………2……..2.9999999! Jericho comes back with an enziguri and gets a near fall of his own on Mysterio. Jericho positions Mysterio in the center of the ring again, and puts him back into the Walls of Jericho. Mysterio appears to have passed out, so JBL lifts Mysterio’s arm, only to see it fall to the mat. JBL lifts it again, and once again Mysterio’s arm hits the mat. On the third time, Mysterio shows signs of life, and manages to reverse the pressure of the Walls, and Jericho falls into the ropes. Mysterio this time is able to hit the 619, and follows it up with the West Coast Pop! Mysterio goes for the pin attempt, and this time it’s 1………2……….3?!? Rey Mysterio pins Jericho at 18:25! And JBL called the match completely down the middle! Winner and NEW Champion: Rey Mysterio, ****1/4 (92/93/93) Rowe: I cannot believe it! Rey Mysterio is the NEW Champion! This is huge, and… what the hell?!? What Rowe is referring to is that right after JBL hands the NEW title belt to Mysterio, he hits Mysterio with the clothesline from Hell! JBL follows it up by pounding Mysterio into the corner and stomping at him with his boots, bloodying up Mysterio in the process. JBL then lifts Mysterio up into the air and hits a devastating powerbomb! JBL then picks up a microphone. JBL: Now I’m sure all of you are wondering what the hell is going on. Why did I call the match down the middle when I hate Mexicans and wrestlers from other territories? Why didn’t I screw Rey Mysterio? Well, before the match, Mysterio came to me with an offer. He said “JBL, I want a fair match. This match means too much to me for you to screw it up. That is why, if you can call the match down the middle, and if I win, I will give you a shot at my NEW title.” So just like that, I, the wrestling God, and the number one contender for the NEW Championship. And you know what else, I want my title shot, next month, at Resistance. At Resistance, I will be the role model to all of those who resist the growing Mexican influence in this great country of ours, and I will resist this feeling that any wrestler from any territory can come into NEW and act like they own the place. America and NEW will be pure, and it will be thanks to me, John Bradshaw Layfield, the greatest NEW Champion of all time! Rowe: Someone take that microphone away from that madman! JBL is out of control! Plague: Yes! Finally, someone around here has the balls to speak the truth! Rowe: Shut the hell up! In no way does New England Wrestling agree with or condone what JBL has said and done tonight! Folks, thank you for tuning in to Manchester Mayhem tonight, though I apologize for what JBL has just said! Plague: Don’t forget to order Resistance next month, so you can see JBL kick Rey Mysterio’s ass! The show ends with JBL posing on the ramp way, as Mysterio lays in the ring with the NEW Championship belt draped over him. Overall: 84 We got a 1.42 buy rate for 'Manchester Mayham'! The attendance was 22861 people. We made $3550000 from pay-per-view revenue. We made $914440 from ticket sales. |

NEW Saturday Night September 30th 2006 Only 24 hours after Manchester Mayhem, it's time for another exciting edition of NEW Saturday Night. Tonight's main event will be the Dudley Boyz vs. America's Most Wanted for the chance to represent NEW at Clash of the Champions. Chris Jericho cut a promo bitching about his NEW title loss to Rey Mysterio last night. Jericho accuses Mysterio and JBL of having a "conspiracy" to steal the title away from him. Mysterio comes out with a microphone and defends himself, stating that he only asked JBL to call the match cleanly, and because he did he will get a title shot at Resistance. This brings out Eric Bischoff, who says that no one should be getting a title shot before Jericho, so he makes Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho official for Clash of the Champions. (99%) Jushin Liger and Tajiri defeated D'Lo Brown and J.R. Ryder at 7:45 when Liger pinned Ryder, following a sneak attack by Tajiri and his green mist. Liger and Tajiri's NEW Tag Team Championship was on the line. After the match, D'Lo threw a fit and aggressively attacked Tajiri. Liger, Ryder, and a bunch of referees had to do their best to seperate them. (82/73/91) Backstage, Carlito and the PTL Invaders were still celebrating the victory from last night and the Invaders' new contracts. "Iron" Troy Cumings came in and asked Carlito to answer why he turned his back on NEW last night, and Carlito said that "PTL was supposed to be the greatest wrestling territory of all time, and instead a lot of talent went to waist. Carlito is going to make sure that PTL becomes the force in wrestling that it was destined to become." (61%) Chris Sabin and Johnny Devine defeated Carlito and Chris Hero at 9:00 when Sabin hit the Cradle Shock on Hero. The match was extremely competitive, featuring some neat exchanges between Hero and Sabin. Carlito is the new acting head of this PTL faction. After the match, PTL's Matt Sydal took a steel pipe and nailed Sabin in the knee with it. Sabin was apparently injured, and needed help walking out of the arena. (76/70/83) Backstage, Edge and Rob Zan Dam are still icing sores from their TLC match from the previous night. Eric Bischoff comes in to talk to them. Bischoff says that he doesn't blame them for losing to the Dudleyz last night, but he needs them to get their heads in the game. Bischoff says that he is outraged that the PTL Invaders all have contracts now, and he's going to need them to keep them in line. Bischoff then warns RVD that he remembers that RVD first came to NEW from PTL, and he doesn't want RVD turning his back on NEW the way that Carlito did. RVD says that he is trustworthy, but to be safe, Bischoff is going to sign Carlito vs. Rob Van Dam for Resistance, that way there is no way RVD can betray NEW even if he wanted to. RVD clearly isn't happy about this lack of faith. (84%) Sonjay Dutt defeated Sonny Siaki at 4:24 when Rhino interfered and hit the GORE on Siaki. Rhino was heading back up the entrance ramp, when Tommy Dreamer suddenly appeared and layed out Rhino with a kendo stick. Dreamer then holds Rhino in place so Siaki can take shots at him. The whole ordeal ends when Mick Foley makes the save. Things are apparently not over between these four. (75/71/79) Ron Killings comes out the the ring for a promo. He angrily cuts a promo against Kid Kash, saying he had the Boston Harbor Championship within his grasp last night, until Kash ruined everything. Killings demands an explanation. Kash comes out and cuts a vicious promo stating that he wanted James Gibson to lose the title because Kash can't get any more title shots until he does, and because he "just doesn't like black people." This fired up Killings, and they had a short brawl. (82%) The Dudley Boyz defeated America's Most Wanted at 8:17 to earn the chance to represent NEW at Clash of the Champions. The match was awesome, with lots of back and forth action. The Dudleyz hit all of their trademark spots, including "Wasssup!" and "Devon, get the tables!" After the match, the Dudleyz put both Harris and Storm through tables, and look strong heading into Clash of the Champions. (85/78/92) Next week: JBL and Chris Jericho team up to face NEW Champion Rey Mysterio and a mystery partner. Overall: 81 We got a 2.17 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!'! The attendance level was 8305 people. We made $249150 from ticket sales. |
