Well, I don't really want to wait any longer. It is Monday, and the show was to be Sunday, so I'm putting it up. I'm sure Swigg will get his show up tonight, but I'm not gonna wait on DK, who is 3 weeks behind at this point, with no sign of any results. So here is the Bash: |

The National Wrestling Alliance presents... NWA Great American Bash July 2, 2006, LIVE on PPV Announcers: Joey Styles & Tazz TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, MA. Before the event kicks off, Joey styles & Tazz welcome everybody to the show, thank them for buying the PPV, and head to the ring for the National Anthem, sang by American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks. Opening Contest: CSW KC Border Champion Petey Williams w/Trish Stratus v NWA Japan Jr. Heavyweight Champion KENTA Pretty good fast paced match between the two. Trish tries to get involved, but the referee sends her to the back before she can make much of an Impact. The Finish: Petey gets KENTA in position for the Canadian Destroyer. He flips through, but KENTA lands on his feet, backpeddling into the ropes, getting some momentum, and flooring Petey Williams with the Busaiku Knee Strike to the head. 1....2....3! KENTA defeats Petey Williams in by pinfall in 15:02. (72/61/83) 6 Man Tag Team Match: Winning Team Advances to NWA World Title Match: Christopher Daniels (M-A), Toshiaki Kawada (Japan), L.A. Par-K (Mexico) v The Rock (NEW), Jeff Jarrett (CSW), Abyss (MW) Heated matchup with the crowd pretty into it, picking between the different teams. Jarrett plays face in peril at the hands of Kawada & Par-K. The Finish: A huge brawl breaks out, leaving only Abyss and Daniels in the ring. Daniels tries the Best Moonsault Ever, but Abyss moves, and nails the Black Hole Slam shortly after to score the win for his team. Afterwards, the Rock slides in the ring and delivers the Rock Bottom to Abyss. Rock, Jarrett, & Abyss defeat Daniels, Kawada, & L.A. Par-K by pinfall in 12:54. (79/79/80) Mid-Atlantic Grudge Match: Sting v Randy Orton Another heated final battle between the two rivals. Back and forth action throughout, with the crowd very behind Sting. The Finish: Sting goes for the Stinger Splash in the corner, but Orton launches himself out and nails Sting with the RKO. Instead of covering, Orton stands over sting, gloating. The crowd rips into him, and Orton grabs Sting’s legs for the Scorpion Deathlock. Sting has some fight left in him though, and powers Orton down to the mat, where Sting grabs the legs and puts on the Deathlock. Orton Taps! Sting defeats Randy Orton by submission in 13:15. (88/93/77) Back in Business Unexpectedly, the fans here the music of NEW’s own Eric Bischoff throughout the arena. Bischoff heads to the ring, and has a clipboard in his hand. He stands at a podium in the ring. Bischoff: Ladies and Gentlemen, as a representative of both NEW and the NWA, it is my pleasure at this time to make a huge announcement to you all. Fledgling territory NWA: PTL, largely based in the Carolina’s and Florida, has been MIA for the last month. Their TV deal has been scrapped, with no future appearances currently scheduled. Their financial backer reportedly is not even reachable, as he had a business deal go bad and currently finds himself in some legal troubles. Therefore, the NWA has decided that PTL will be split up, with a 5 round draft happening between the remaining 6 territories. And best of all for you fans, it all starts here tonight, with the First Round happening tonight. And wouldn’t you know it? The best territory in the NWA, New England Wrestling, won the drawing and will get the first pick in the draft. So, looking over PTL’s roster, it is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome the newest addition to the NEW; Kurt Angle!! Angle walks out to a huge reaction from the crowd. He still wears his PTL Championship around his waist. He looks a bit subdued, and slides in the ring to take the mic from Bischoff. Angle: Mr. Bischoff. It is an honor that you would choose me as the first draft pick out of PTL, and would be an honor to wrestle some of the talented competitors in NEW. Unfortunately for you, it AINT FREAKIN HAPPENING! Bischoff reacts with horror, and then anger, not happy that he is being made a fool of. Angle: It’ll be a cold day in hell before I watch my home territory die. And it sure as hell isn’t gonna happen on my watch, with me as PTL Champion. We are one TV deal away from being back in the game, and I have it on good authority that – Angle is suddenly cut off by the music of another PTL superstar: Shawn Michaels. Michaels walks to the ring with no pyro or fooling around. He is in street clothes, and looks like all business. Michaels: Kurt, just what in the hell are you doing. I’m all on board with saving PTL and all, but have you taken a look around the place? Sure, I tore the house down with you at the first supershow, which was also the last show. I just can’t finish out my career in that hellhole, and this draft was our chance to get out and do something in the NWA. I’m not gonna live out my final days in PTL, and I’ll do what it takes to make sure that territory is dead and buries like it should be. Angle: Oh REALLY? Well then you’re gonna be miserable with the news I’m about to share with you Shawn. And for the record, *I* tore the house down with YOU, not the other way around. PTL has just been purchased for an undisclosed sum of money by a new financial backer. And I’m not a betting man, but if I was, I would bet on PTL being back on TV as soon as this Saturday. So fans, make sure you tune back in to PTL, because it is alive and kicking again. Bischoff: What the hell are you talking about? No, this isn’t happening. I drafted you Kurt. I had plans for you. Hell, you could even hold some REAL gold in NEW, and not that thing you have around your waist right no— Angle snaps and goes after Bischoff, grabbing him around the collar of his jacket. He picks up Bischoff in the Angle Slam, and lays him out. As he turns around, he eats a Superkick to the face by Shawn Michaels. Michaels leaves the ring with Angle & Bischoff both out, and the podium turned over. I guess PTL is back in business! (86) No Disqualification, Inter-promotional Match: Samoa Joe v John Bradshaw Layfield Stiff matchup with alot of hard hitting maneuvers. No disqualification in this one, and JBL took full advantage of it, using every trick in the book. In the middle of the match, a ruckus is caused in the crowd when Boston’s own John Cena walks through the crowd and to a seat in the front row. JBL is immediately peeved at his presence, while Joe largely ignores him. The Finish: JBL has a pair of brass knuckles, and takes a wild swing at Joe. Joe ducks, and locks in the Kokina Clutch. JBL has no choice, he is about to pass out. He taps! Samoa Joe defeats JBL by submission in 10:07. (85/87/83) Post-Match: Joe walks out to ringside and steps up to Cena, who rises out of his chair. They shakes hands and celebrate, the two UPW stars reunited for the first time since they broke into professional wrestling. JBL groggily watches it all go down from his fetal position in the ring. Loser Leaves NEW Match: Edge v Christian Emotional and hard hitting matchup between the two brothers that stole the show. Back and forth action, spilling outside the ring into a full out brawl. The referee was very lenient, seeing as how the stipulation was quite important. The Finish: Edge hits the Spear, finally, after trying it a few times. Instead of covering, he heads back to the corner and waits for Christian to get up. ANOTHER Spear. He covers. 1...2...NO! Christian kicks out. Edge heads to the corner again, and this time launches himself with all his might into Christian’s midsection for a THIRD spear. 1....2....3! Christian is gone from NEW! Edge defeats Christian by pinfall in 16:43. (91/87/95) Midwestern Championship Match: Batista © v William Regal Hard hitting matchup, with William Regal trying to keep the big man on the ground with extensive matwork. Batista takes control and looks to be finishing the job, when the British Invasion runs to ringside. The Finish: Burchill jumps on one side of the ring, and Batista wipes him out with a clothesline. McGuinness is up on the other side, and Batista charges at him, but McGuinness catches him and holds him. Regal gets to his feet, and loads up his fist. He takes a swing at Batista, but he ducks, and Regal nails McGuinness. Regal looks down at his fallen comrade, and turns around right into a kick to the gut, and a Batista Bomb for the 3 count. Batista defeats William Regal by pinfall in 11:02. (82/85/77) Post-Match: As Batista celebrates in the ring, The British Invasion makes their way to the backstage area. Suddenly, Abyss & James Mitchell make their way out. Abyss stares down Batista in the center of the ring, and Batista says something to him, and then leaves the ringside area. Abyss stays in the ring, the World Title Match is NEXT. NWA World Title Match: The Rock (NEW) v Jeff Jarrett (CSW) v Abyss (MW) – 3 Way Elimination Match Hot 3 way action throughout the match, with Rock and Abyss constantly going at each other. Jarrett sneaks his way in for a rollup on Rock for a nearfall. Jarrett eventually gets a Figure 4 on Rock, but Abyss grabs Jarrett around the throat, and picks him up for a chokeslam for a near fall. Abyss then hits the Black Hole Slam on Jarrett, eliminating him. Eliminated: Jeff Jarrett via Abyss pin at 11:45 The Rock & Abyss stare down and go at it, exchanging lefts and rights with The Rock getting the upper hand. Rock charges off the ropes, and gets caught by Abyss around the throat. Abyss tosses him onto his shoulders into a torture rack, and then drops down, wrenching Rock’s back over his shoulder. He covers. 1....2...no! Rock kicks out. Rock grabs Abyss for a Rock Bottom, but Abyss elbows out and bounces off the ropes, and both men hit heads. They’re both down on the mat until the ref gets to 8, and they’re up. The Finish: Rock nails a spinebuster, and lines up for the People’s Elbow. He hits it to a huge reaction from the fans, but Abyss kicks out at 2. Rock whips Abyss off the ropes, but Abyss reverses, and goes for the Black Hole Slam. But Rock spins all the way around Abyss, and hooks his arm over Abyss’ head, ROCK BOTTOM!!! He covers, 1...2...3! The Rock is the NWA World Champion! The Rock defeats Abyss by pinfall to become the NWA World Champion in 21:42. (80/82/77) Overall: 85% Attendance: 9021 Buyrate: .72 |

Dude, that show freaking kicked all kinds of ass! The entire show clicked, there was some outstanding variety, and I love how the NEW stuff played out. And The Rock is our first NWA Champion, that thrills me :) |
