Looks like Matt Striker has become RAW's version of Simon Dean. Guy who babbles alot, has a gimmick...then gets killed by the big guys. He'll be riding a scooter and getting attacked by midgets soon. |

I thought Raw was pretty shitty last night, though I did enjoy the triple threat match. I felt the show was kind of "just there" and was entirely missable. The main event didn't really interest me either. |

I really liked ECW tonight. Test/Knox vs. Dreamer/Sandman actually clicked with me. It was intense, emotional, and well booked. I actually felt for Dreamer when he was dropped on the barbed wire, because it seemed symbolic to how he got screwed backstage in ECW (being removed of all booking power). Mike Knox finally looked at home there, and Test was perfectly aggressive. CM Punk's debut brought a happy tear to my face. He put on a decent little match with Justin Credible, which even impressed my non-fan sister. Angle's return was meh. I really fucking wish he'd retire. The main event was surprisingly decent, as Batista and Big Show actually worked well together. The real fun though was how the crowd shit all over the match. Big Show's frustration was entertaining and I could tell that Batista would rather have been anywhere else than that arena. The Sabu run in was predictable, but perfect. I finally have hope for this brand. |

Not only was this the best ECW show yet, but it absolutely killed RAW and Smackdown for the last 'as long as I can remember'. I haven't enjoyed a WWE-ized show this much since One Night Stand 2. The opening tag match was PERFECT, and they filled everyone in on everything going on. Test & Knox looked perfectly comfortable finally being in a place where they drew legit heat, and it was great seeing Dreamer & Sandman together again. Just a great ECW TV tag match, and a brutal ending by Dreamer. Just nasty. Punk's debut was also just perfect. I would prefer him to be a heel, but I'll wait and see where they go with it. The crowd eats it up, and he looks so passionate in there. His look at the end of the match said it all. I loved it not just being a squash, and instead being a real match. I noticed Punk selling the back, something I rarely even pick up on anymore when I watch wrestling. He looked great, and a beautiful finish with that tiny bit of strong style slapping, then the Uranage (called by Styles) and the finish, which I assume is new. Nice little keylock-armbar looking thing. Not sure what to call it. Angle's return did the job. Sure, a squash, but frankly this show was running out of time anyway. At least they got a jobber (even if he is old as dirty) instead of sacrificing the wrestling like they had been doing with Credible. And the Main Event. Not that anyone didn't see this coming, but they SHIT all over those guys, and I loved every minute of it. I don't care that it is hypocritical. I don't care that it is stupid because they paid money. They're passionate fans, and don't want the ECW name bastardized with this bullshit. They want wrestling, new talent, fun angles, all of which were presented previously. Big Show - Batista is NOT. "CHANGE THE CHANNEL" becomes the new chant of the year, and I wish those guys in the first two rows opposite camera would've had more success with their "turn around and shhh" idea, cause it would've been brilliant. An entire arena with their backs turned, not saying a word? Awesome. Sabu run in was what needed to happen. Sabu needs to KILL Show at Summerslam, because tonight's show (minus the main event) was spectacular, and I see hope for this right now. It is definitely my favorite wrestling on TV behind TNA. |

-Someone needs to feed Tazz more often. He completely ATE the microphone. He said something when they cut back from commercial...like he was trying to make a joke and all I could hear was "mumble, mumble..hey, I dunno!" -I was into the opening match, but as soon as Knox put on the breaks going into the barbed wire, they lost me. I realized "oh hell..both Dreamer and Sandman have a SHIRT on...so one of them's gonna' eat the barbed wire spot". -The bulldog's one of my favorite moves when it's done right. Punk did it right...not like the lame Rick Steiner version. First time I've seen him...and he kinda' reminds me of an AJ Styles with tattoos. -Was that VLADIMIR in the front row!?! Wearing a light colored shirt? I didn't notice him until the main event. -A vampire named....... Kevin. That's like the monster on Pee Wee's Playhouse who was named Roger. -Main event was okay...but that ending sucked. Hold it...hold it... tap with the belt! I could see it coming, but kept expecting some little switcheroo. Like, maybe Batista stops it and brains Show with it. Something slightly interesting?! But no, the obvious happened. Weak. -I now do the Sabu "point to the sky" thing after leaving or entering every room. |

Yes, that was indeed VLADIMIR, and I caught him right away and was marking out. |

sheesh..relax campers! What the hell do I know? Notice that you never catch me in "who's the best worker" arguments? Remember: first impressions from a virgin 'rasslin watcher. Honestly, I was a little disppointed when he spent the first part of the match working a HEADLOCK. |

Yes, but he actually WORKED the headlock. Didn't just sit in it like Randy f'n Orton. |

Ahh...you're right. Then he sold the lower back shots with "residual" pain when bouncing off the ropes. |

Please... Styles has never been in anything near as awful as some of the garbage I've seen Punk call a match over the last 5 years. He managed to have a shitty match while in the ring with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Misterio and he managed to blow every spot in a match with CW Anderson. He's been nothing special at all in OVW aside from when he's given 20 minutes and in the ring with Brent Albright. |

It is all up to the person watching it, but I prefer CM Punk over AJ Styles. I'm not just talking about ring work, which I would say Punk is above Styles in. Styles may be a bump and spot machine, but I'm not so sure he has alot psycology. Punk cuts a MUCH better promo than Styles, and that is an understatement. I get to see Styles this month at NWA: Central States, and I'm hoping he proves me wrong with some of the thoughts I have about him. |
