That poster is awesome! "An imaginary event" and "tickets not on sale" lines made me laugh.

I look forward to the actual show too :)

Right now I'll post some short results. You'll get the full results when the DVD comes out.

Quote:

KISS is on hand.  They play Detroit Rock City before the show

Dark Match: Claudio Castagnoli over Bobby Roode.  Huge "STEROIDS" chant, which got Roode irate.  Claudio made some needle in the ass jokes during the match before picking up the win.  Roode threw a temper tantrum after the match. (63 overall)

Pyro went off and kiss played "Hotter than Hell," which is the theme song for the show.

The show starts off with a video shot of Styles and Bauer, and then we saw some footage of the British Invasion attacking the Chair Swinging Freaks backstage.(57)

Roddy Piper came out and introduced Arik Cannon and Jack Evans from PTL.  Apparently the company folded and Midwest picked up these two, and three more.

The British Invasion come out and challenge the two to a hardcore match.  The Brits win after Harry Smith debuts and turns heel on Cannon. (62/43/81)

Kennedy vs. Funk is next.  It's an I Quit match.  The two beat the piss out of each other.  The finish comes after John Walters comes down to help Terry Funk and Kennedy attacks him.  Funk calls it quits then. (79/85/66)

After Funk makes it backstage we got Raven vs. Punk.  The match was back and forth, with Punk anticipating most of Raven's moves.  Punk couldn't win without using the ropes, though.  (87/90/93)

The ladders came out and we got Homicide vs. Jerry Lynn.  They made a bad decision putting this after Raven-Punk.  The crowd was into it, but they just didn't have it in them after the ups and downs of the previous match.  Lynn ends up losing after taking a Cop Killa off the ladder.  (70/56/84)

Medics help Lynn to the back and then it was time for The Naturals vs. The Lords of the Ring.  The teams wrestled well, but the match ended in a double countout when they wouldn't come back to the ring.  (75/67/84)

Batista makes his way to the ring to a big pop (78)

The Main Event was Batista vs. Benoit vs. Abyss vs. Sabu.  It was a four corners match, which was surprising, as I thought it was an elimination match.  Benoit picks up the win and the belt thanks to Abyss and James Mitchell taking out Batista. (80/78/83)

Overall: 74

Hotter Than Hell was attended by 4011 people!
NWA Midwest made $160440 from ticket sales.

LIVE FROM the Compuware Arena in DETROIT, MICHIGAN; It's HOTTER THAN HELL!!

Joey Styles: Hello everyone, and welcome to Hotter than Hell. I'm Joey Styles, joined as always by the "voice of reason" Jimmy Bauer.

Jimmy Bauer: That's right Joey, just like Bill Alfonso used to do as a ref in the ring, I call it right down the middle.

Styles: Well, you are just like Bill Alfonso, that's for sure. Bauer and I thank you for joining us, and we want to show you some interesting footage. Just before the show got underway, the NWA Midwestern Tag Team Champions took an opportunity to attack their challengers.

Bauer: Styles, call it like it is. The British Invasion were probably insulted or even attacked by The Chair Swinging Freaks backstage, and Rotten and Mahoney most likely got what was coming to them.

Styles: I feel so dirty sitting next to you. Let's just watch the footage.

Backstage
We see that the Chair Swinging Freaks are backstage talking to some women. For them, it's hot women. Out of nowhere, the Brits come out swinging with Brass Knucks. They don't just hit the Freaks once, though. They continue an assault until some security guards, who the girls scurried off to find, come and run them off. Both guys look pretty rough.

Styles: That happened before the show even got off the ground.

Bauer: How much do you want to bet that the Brits already called dibs on the chicks?

Styles: Oh my god....

Welcome to NWA Midwest...

Roddy Piper's music begins to play. Piper comes down to ringside. He picks up the microphone. Someone says something about the Brits attacking the Freaks and Piper says "They'll get what's coming to them!" Piper explains to the audience about NWA:PTL folding, and that there are five PTL wrestlers who will be making their way to NWA Midwest, including one MAJOR pickup. Piper then introduces two of the newest members of the NWA Midwest roster: Jack Evans and Arik Cannon. Evans and Cannon thank the crowd and say that they'll do their best in NWA Midwest. Evans says that he'll do even better than Cannon. Cannon is about to be offended, but the British Invasion interrupt. They declare that Evans and Cannon won't get anywhere because they'll never get past their first night. They challenge Evans and Cannon to a hardcore match so they can see what PTL was about. Evans and Cannon accept.

Jack Evans and Arik Cannon vs. The British Invasion
The match is fairly good. Evans sells like a pro for Paul Burchill, while Cannon and Nigel put on some technical stuff. Well, mostly Nigel. The match is actually a good showcase for Evans and Cannon, and they almost pick up the win. But the Brits bring out the knucks and lay out Evans. Cannon is outside after being knocked by Burchill. Nigel grabs him and throws him in the ring when out of nowhere Harry Smith comes to ringside.

Styles: Is that Harry Smith? The son of the British Bulldog???

Bauer: It is, Styles. What is he up to??

Smith steps into the ring. He pulls Cannon away from Nigel and Burchill. He scolds them before turning around and clocking Cannon. He picks Cannon up and hits a running powerslam. He turns around and shakes hands with the Brits. The crowd BOOS. Burchill makes the pin.

WINNERS: The British Invasion

Styles: The crowd is obviously not pleased with Harry Smith's decision. Is he even British?

Bauer: His father was.

Styles So? I thought he was Canadian?

Bauer: Maybe he's from British Columbia.

Ken Kennedy vs. Terry Funk-I Quit Match
Kennedy comes out and does his introduction. He introduces himself as "Mr. Old School." He introduces Funk as "742 years old, with hardly a breath left in him." Funk comes out on fire. The ref asks the two to shake hands, and Kennedy says he's afraid to because he "might break his hand." So Funk slugs him in the face. Funk takes control of the match at this point, even slapping on an early spinning toe hold. He asks Kennedy to quit, and Kennedy of course says no. The two brawl for a bit. Funk gets brutal on Kennedy, who is taking more than he's dishing out.
Kennedy, though, is not through. After Kennedy rolls out of the ring, Funk tries for a tope over the top rope. Kennedy ducks and Funk hits floor. Kennedy goes right after Funks ribs. Funk favors them, but continues on like a trooper. The two brawl a bit more, but Funk's injured ribs play heavily against him. Kennedy even nails several consecutive rib breakers. Funk is in severe pain, and Kennedy is barely limping. The two brawl a bit more. Funk starts a comeback, but Kennedy stops it. Kennedy gets Funk up on the top rope and hits a Lambeau Leap. He asks Funk. Funk says no. Kennedy rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair. Funk tries to get to his feet. He's holding his ribs. Kennedy lifts the chair and slams it on Funk's back. He tells the ref to ask. Funk says no. Kennedy lifts the chair and slams it on Funk's back again. Funk says no. The crowd cheers as John Walters runs to ringside. Walters slides in the ring and grabs the chair from Kennedy. Walters tells Kennedy that it's enough. Kennedy replies "It will be enough when he says I Quit. That's the gimmick!" Walters says no, it's enough now. Kennedy acts like he's going to give. He then guillotines Walters on the chair. He starts slamming the chair on Walters, and tells Funk that he won't stop until Funk quits. Funk grabs the microphone and says "I Quit."
WINNER: Ken Kennedy

Walters apologizes to Funk. Funk says it's ok. Walters helps Funk to the back to THUNDEROUS applause.

Bauer: You know, Walters made a huge mistake coming out like that. Nobody asked for his help.

Styles: Somehow, Jimmy, I don't think Funk will complain.

Raven vs. CM Punk
Punk comes out with Jimmy Jacobs. Punk is wearing his new shirt, while Jacobs is wearing a "Drinking Sucks" shirt. Ironic, as drinking may be the only way he could get some action. Punk holds his "drug free" tattooed fingers up for the camera, and follows with a "Straight Edge" for good measure. Raven makes his way to the ring. Sterling James Keenan is in toe, wearing a Marilyn Manson "I don't like the drugs, but the drugs like me" shirt. Raven and Punk walk to the center of the ring and stare each other down. Punk shoves Raven. Some more words are exchanged and Raven shoves Punk. Jimmy Jacobs climbs on the apron and distracts the ref and Raven long enough for Punk to get an advantage. Punk brings in some technical mat work, and Raven is a bit surprised. Once Raven figures out what Punk is doing, he turns the tables and takes control. Punk, though, changes up again and starts brawling with Raven. Raven rolls outside the ring after taking a few shots. He talks with Keenan for a bit, and rolls back in. Raven gets ready to brawl when Punk drops him to the mat and starts working on Raven's shoulder. Raven finally breaks the hold and hits Punk with a few shots to the ribs. Raven leans against the ropes. Punk complains to the ref which allows Jacobs to guillotine Raven. Keenan goes after Jacobs, who runs up the entranceway. Keenan makes it to the curtain before he realizes that Punk has Raven rolled up, pulling on his tights. He turns around in time to see Punk rolling out of the ring, celebrating. Keenan runs back in and apologizes to Raven, who doesn't seem to care. Raven focuses on Punk.
WINNER: CM Punk

X Division Championship Ladder Match: Homicide vs. Jerry Lynn
Styles runs down the feud while the ring crew brings out the ladders. Lynn walks out alone. He climbs into the ring and kneels in the corner. Homicide's music starts. A boxing style procession proceeds him, with Blackout leading, Onyx holding the NWA Midwest X Division Title, and none other than former PTL star B-boy behind Homicide, encouraging him. Homicide makes it to the ring, and the ref demands that B-Boy, Blackout and Onyx head back to the locker room. The crowd applauds. Lynn looks tense. Homicide looks cocky. The two pace around each other as the bell rings. Lynn looks up, and Homicide tells him not to waste his time.
The two lock up in the middle of the ring. Lynn starts out with some serious action, and he's more motivated than he has been in a long time. He's pulling out all the stops. Homicide can't believe it. Lynn knocks Homicide out of the ring. Homicide stands up and slaps the apron. He's pissed. He let Lynn get the best of him so far. So Homicide does what any self respecting heel would in this situation. He grabs a weapon. The Ladder. He lays it on the apron, and of course Lynn baseball slides it into him. Lynn climbs the turnbuckle and hits a missile dropkick on Homicide. Lynn is EN FUEGO~!!! Homicide is down next to the steps. Lynn walks over to pull Homicide to his feet. Homicide jabs Lynn in the ribs. Lynn stumbles back, and Homicide grabs him by the hair. Homicide pulls Lynn into some serious knees. Lynn falls to the floor and holds his head. Homicide shakes off any cobwebs he may have. Homicide kicks the fallen Lynn. He stomps on Lynn's head. Homicide picks up a chair. He places Lynn on the chair. Homicide climbs onto the apron. He jumps off the apron to deliver a knee drop and Lynn moves out of the way. Lynn begins working the knee to gain an advantage, but he's still hampered by the knees Homicide delivered earlier. Lynn rolls out of the ring after some knee work and brings in a ladder. The crowd goes wild. Homicide pulls himself up, and Lynn smashes the ladder into the back of Homicide's knee. Homicide rolls out of the ring. Lynn stands the ladder up. He looks to the belt and starts to climb. Homicide hurries onto the apron and delivers an INSANE springboard neckbreaker. As soon as he lands, though, he ends up grabbing his knee.
Both men crawl towards the ladder. They pull themselves up, and look straight into each others eyes. Homicide attempts to dropkick the ladder, but Lynn ducks down. The Ladder lands on Lynn, and Homicide on the ladder. Both men are down again. Homicide is clutching his knee. Lynn stands the ladder up, and attempts to climb. Homicide sees Lynn go up and begins to climb it himself. The two get to the top and swat at each other. They're both exhausted, but it doesn't ruin the match. Lynn nails Homicide with a good punch, and Homicide nearly falls off. Lynn takes a risk and goes for a sunset flip. Homicide ducks, though, and Lynn lands flat on his back. Homicide hesitates, and then jumps off the ladder. He slides out of the ring and grabs a chair. Lynn climbs the ladder. Homicide slams the chair into Lynn's back. Lynn slumps, but then begins to climb again. Homicide runs off the ropes, and as Lynn begins to reach for the belt, Homicide dropkicks the ladder. The ladder starts to fall, and Lynn tries to will it back. Homicide gives it an extra tug, though, and Lynn falls off the ladder and THROUGH the announce table. Homicide stands the ladder back up and reclaims his title.
WINNER: Homicide

The Naturals vs. The Lords of the Ring
Jim E. Cornette is with the Naturals in the match. He actually becomes the reason the match falls apart. Both teams are wrestling full tilt until the LOTR decide to chase after Cornette. The Naturals follow them out of the ring, and won't let LOTR back. Cornette is encouraging them.
WINNER: None, Double Countout

NWA Midwest Championship Match: Abyss vs. Chris Benoit vs. Batista vs. Sabu
All four men are focused in the match. Bill Alfonso and James Mitchell are both at ringside, and Joey Styles warns us that they could be a distraction at some point in the match. Thank you, Captain Obvious. The bell rings and everyone starts to circle. Sabu makes the first move and tries to trip up Batista. Batista isn't tripped, but he is distracted and Abyss clubs him. Benoit nails Abyss in the back. Sabu springboards off the second rope and splashes all three men. Batista rolls out of the ring. Abyss stands up. Benoit and Sabu look at each other, and then the flexing Abyss. Surprisingly, they work together and bring the monster down. Sabu turns on Benoit. After some brawling, Batista climbs into the ring and clotheslines both men to the mat. This leads to Batista tossing around Benoit while Abyss is assaulting Sabu outside. Both big men are making great use of their power advantage.
Abyss throws Sabu into the ringsteps, then climbs in. Batista doesn't realize he's there, but Benoit does. Benoit Dropkicks Batista into Abyss. Abyss hits a full nelson slam on Batista, and flexes. Benoit attacks Abyss with a crucifix pin, but Abyss kicks out on 1 1/2. Abyss and Benoit brawl for a bit, with Abyss stunned at Benoit's ability to keep up. Benoit gets the advantage and hits 3 germans. He rolls over to catch his breath, and Sabu hits the Arabian facebuster on Abyss and gets a 2 count. Benoit breaks it up. Sabu goes to work on the Crippler. He's quickly interrupted by Batista. They brawl to the outside. Batista delivers a Powerbomb on Sabu outside the ring onto the announce table. Abyss is being pounded by Benoit in the ring. Batista interrupts with a clothesline to the back of Benoit's head. James Mitchell climbs onto the apron. Batista stares him down. The ref is behind Mitchell checking on Sabu. Abyss grabs Batista in a full nelson. Mitchell rears back and NAILS Batista with the cane. Abyss poses, and Benoit nails several germans. Mitchell tries to crawl in, but Benoit nails him with a snap suplex. Benoit climbs to the top and delivers a diving headbutt. The ref crawls back into the ring and makes the count

WINNER AND NEW NWA MIDWEST CHAMPION: Chris Benoit!
