Every match is going to be like that though unless it has the older guys like Vampiro or Waltman. Looking at the wiki on this they lose Credible, New Jack, Hamrick and Puma after this show. They go get Colt Cabana and the Dragon's Gate guys but I doubt that'll be enough for me. I'll complain about this a lot but the show needs to be an hour. 30 minutes, especially with MTV length commercials won't cut it ever.

I agree with the length of the show, and outside of Hamrick I really couldn't careless about them losing the rest. I like the fact that they are going with youth and I'm psyched that they got the DG guys. Plus Colt is working the Matt Classic gimmick which is genius.

If I remember correctly the DG guys get totally 100% jobbed out. I've quickly become a fan of Dragon's Gate though. I watched a couple of the DVDs I bought from IVP and while spotty the shows are really fun with the wacky gimmicks.

You know. MTV should've just dubbed Dragon's Gate footage and played that for 30 minutes every week.

Speaking as a former 9-time World Champion, here's my detailed analysis:

-This definitely has the novelty factor going for it. The wrestling was flat out terrible and the gimmicky battle royal was hella' weird. But, damn if I ain't curious to see what kind of garbage they'll toss out. I mean, I watched ECW consistently for the first two months, until I got sick of it. At the least, this'll create fodder for fans of a Crappy site about Wrestling (which you can pay 30 bucks to get on a data CD).

-At first I thought it was kinda' neat how they acknowledged past accomplishments. But when you introduce someone like Justin Credible as an 11-time Champion...well, that's hyperbole. Didja' know Syxx-pac was an "original member of DX"?! All this time I thought that was Rick Rude doing the boydguard gimmick back in 1997. Silly me.

-I'm offering a $15 bounty (payable in PayPal credit) to anyone who maims that ring announcer.

-Zakk Wylde: "wow"

-Introducing someone as "HIS GIRLFIREND" is weak. Manager, associate, trainer, valet, executive consultant... those would be okay. So he's the only guy with a girlfriend. Everyone else is gay or a loser (might be accurate...who knows).

-Scrooge is right-on about the "CONTRACTS" being labelled. Damn, that's hilarious.

-Beaning Justin Credible with a water bottle is kinda' funny.

-Get some frickin' ring attire. Alot of the guys wore baggy pants and shirts. I couldn't tell anyone apart... "Kaos", "Aguilera", "Douche Suicide"... it was impossible to distinguish the "new" guys.

-I liked Vampiro in WCW and from what I saw, I thought he looked okay. He was jumping and spinning, but since the camera angles sucked, who knew if he was actually doing anything that required effort.

Yes. Matt Classic. Yes.

The screwy thing about Hamrick is that he was released to join the new ECW when it formed, but then got dumped before he ever worked a show.

So what do we classify this as? Indy, super indy or quasi-national promotion?

It would probably make more since as just a TV show. I'm not sure it is even considered a promotion.

It was interesting, that's sure.

I also enjoyed the different presentation. It's good to know that EVERY wrestling show doesn't look like it's ripping off Vince's ideas on how to introduce a wrestler to the ring.\

The wrestling was ok, but it was definitely spot heavy. And they need to stop cutting to people throughout the show.

The names were embarassing, but they're not trying to draw a major wrestling audience, from the looks of it. They just want the "holy shit" factor to play in.

And man, did these guys rip of FMW or what?

Swiggy I thought the same thing with FMW.

They definately need to stay of all of the camera cuts. It makes the show unwatchable.

I dug E's analysis of the whole deal too. The champions thing I thought was killer during the first match (when they mentioned Sydal's IWA championship, and Evans being a JAPW tag champion.), but when they showed Credible as being a WWF champion it all went to shit.

By the way, I'll match E's dollar amount for someone to take out the running/yelling ring announcer.

What makes the show worth watching to me??? Teddy Hart and his goddamned goofy antics. No selling or not, you gotta love a guy that will do 487 highspots in a row and chuck a water bottle at Credible (I lived vicariously thought him last night as I have wanted to do that for years).

I've said many times that Teddy Hart is an incredible wrestler. Sure, he does too many spots and all that, but he does them all very well. Kind of like the difference in the early 90's between Rey Jr. and the rest of the luchas. They all did the same moves and such, but Rey did them all better. Teddy is the king of the indy-flippers.
People hate him because he is apparently a real-life douche. There has never been a stupider reason to hate a wrestler. First, you don't know the guy. You are going on reports from other guys who don't know the guy. Second, If you are gonna hate every real-lif a-hole in the wrestling biz...

I'll admit that it was more interesting than ECW's main event.

There's no doubt that Teddy is incredible. But it's pretty evident that he's a dick. Otherwise, he'd be working elsewhere....but he's burned all of his bridges.

Like I said, it may very well be true. (My guess is that he is a jerk) However, I would never use that as a reason to hate a wrestler, or I'd have to hate 94% of my favorite wrestlers.

I certainly don't hate Teddy.
