I think Jamie's trying to say something like "oh, you Gloomy Gus". Maybe. ?

But yeah, does that mean he's poo-poo'ing you for being pessimistic about future WSX ratings? Don't know if you'd want to take that position.

i wasn't being pessimistic. I pointed out that any way you color it, it's still good news. Having not watched the show, it would be tough for me to say what it will do in the future, though with the time slot on MTV it seems pretty stable. However, I don't think it has room for huge ratings increases either.

I watched it and I can't see it gaining more in the way of fans. They don't have the talent level to grow. For as maligned as TNA is they have the talent base and go after the right stars for the company to grow.

It's not going to keep a ton of new fans. It had a chance at some ECW fans but it's losing those guys. For this to be a successful wrestling promotion they need to pull in a really big name. They need a Sting type that can still go in the ring.

Just again because I'm bored and feel like it. For WSX to succeed they need to do the following:

1. ditch the announcers and especially the ring announcer.
2. go for a full hour AND get MTV to cut down on the usual commercial length.
3. get some real main eventers. That's a tough one since Japan, WWE and TNA have all the top talent that's worth a damn.
4. ditch the contracts. I'm sorry but trying to make guy's exclusive when you have only had a single show is just stupid. You'll never get good talent that way. That just attracts burn outs looking for job security because they've burned all their bridges.
5. stop with the funky camera angles. Look at what TNA's done since on Spike. That's how you experiment with the camera without pissing everyone off.
6. More Dragon's Gate wrestlers = more gooder. Go all out. DoFixer, Blood Generation, etc. Get a full working agreement and just set those guy's loose. That's how you draw a crowd and maybe get a talented main eventer in Ultimo Dragon.

Don't worry, I see your point in bringing it up.

What I don't see the point of is jamie saying something if he can't really add anything to the conversation.

I agree with a lot of these points.

They could get talent from Japan. It seems as if MTV has no problem mentioning other companies, and if they agreed to do so with some of the Japanese ones, the companies would probably go for it.

I don't see how japan talent is gonna help them draw viewers right now. I say keep that number small so that the novelty factor is still intact. I think Teddy Hart should be pushed as a Main Eventer as long as he behaves himself. Other than him, I'm not sure.

Normally I'd agree but the DG guys would be a good idea because of the wacky gimmicks they have and the spotfest matches they can crank out. It would make the product really stand out.

But doesn't it go against your idea for getting REAL main eventers? I agree that the guys could be good, but they need to bring talent in slowly and introduce them properly. If they get a bunch of DG guys at once, it'll be like WCW's lucha guys. They all blended together, minus Eddie and Rey.

The advantage of DG would be getting an in with Ultimo Dragon and some CMLL guys like L.A. Par-K. Main eventers as I said are a tough thing to get. Those guys are few and very far between these days.

C'mon now...where's the coverage of the Second Episode?!!

Human Tornado is either the dumbest gimmick in wrestling...or else he's the Smartest Man in Pro Wrestling History. Why? He's the only guy to ever wear a frickin' CUP.

Would I get too much heat if I said I liked the Trailer Park BoyZ promo?

Human Tornado isn't as smart as you think. He has "Balls of steel" or someshit.

Either way, it's a good way to get rid of a tired wrestling cliche'.

No, I dug the Trailer Boyz deal myself. I'm happy that they are doing The Filth and the Fury team with MDogg and Teddy too.

There is a match up on YouTube with Matt Classic vs. Sydal that needs to be seen. Matt Classic is the greatest wrestler in the game today by the way.

Oh yeah, I followed the "balls of steel" gimmick at first. Thought it was suspending disbelief TOO much...then I rationalized it by figuring: "holy shit! He's really just wearing a CUP! Genius! Lanny Poffo!"

-I'm adding a dollar to my announcer bounty, by the way.

-There aren't too many main events that have ended in an EXPLOSION (didn't Shane McMahon or Goldust fall into a bank of wires or something?). I can hear Beavis saying "Yes! Fire! Fire!". Ha! Take that, Undertaker... you've never pinned a guy in an expodling casket!!

I'll fully admit that WSX is nothing other than garbage wrestling.

Although I like that fact right now, plus the TV is somewhat refreshing.

I'd be curious to see how long this ends up lasting as a company.

I've caught replays now on MTV...and I can't imagine anyone enjoying this show. My God that's horrible.
