A big night of action is expected from NEW, as we finally make the jump to prime time! That's right, starting 11/4, NEW will from 8-10 on TBS! The show will no longer be known as "Saturday Night" but will now be called "Blizzard."

In honor of this huge accomplishment, NEW Rey Mysterio has been ordered by Eric Bischoff to defend the NEW World Championship in a fatal four way against his last three challengers: JBL, Kid Kash, and Chris Jericho! Bischoff is determined to get the NEW title off of the underdog from NWA: Mid-Atlantic!

Also, NEW made waves in the wrestling world by drafting six huge stars from the now defunct Central States Wrestling. Samoa Joe, Steve Corino, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Alex Shelley, and Petey Williams are coming to NEW! Will they be in attendance tonight?

At Clash of the Champions, The Rock lost the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to El Hijo Del Santo. This means that The Rock is on his way back to NEW! The Rock is scheduled to appear at tonight's huge primetime debut, don't miss it!

For all of this and more, you must tune in the premiere episode of NEW Blizzard, only on the Superstation!

Update:

TBS changed their minds on giving NEW a primetime slot on Saturdays. They instead offered a late evening slot. NEW has accepted the late evening slot, and the Saturday show will still be called "Saturday Night." However, NEW, behind the backs of the good folks at TBS, just came to terms with the USA Network for a two hour primetime show on Mondays, which will be titled "Blizzard." NEW's Saturday Night will serve as the "B" show. Monday Night Blizzard will air live on USA, while NEW Saturday Night will tape on Mondays before Blizzard.

This week's Saturday Night will still air on primetime on TBS, and will be a huge episode.

NEW Saturday Night
November 4th 2006

This was the special primetime edition of NEW Saturday Night. Look forward to the debut of NEW Blizzard, Mondays on the USA Network!

Rob Van Dam defeated PTL's Matt Sydal at 10:41 with the five star frog splash. The match was really good, though Sydal is still working on getting over. The rest of PTL were at ringside for the match, trying to keep Edge from getting involved. After the match, Carlito once again pleaded with RVD to join them, but he sticks by Edge... for the time being. (74/61/87)

The Rock comes out to the ring for an interview and gets an explosive pop from the audience. Lots of "welcome back" chants. The Rock talks about his experiences as being the NWA World Champion, and how it was a great time in his career and life. The Rock says that even though he was disappointed that he came up short against El Hijo Del Santo at Clash of the Champions, he is happy to be back home in NEW. The Rock says that he has been offered a contract to wrestle for the NEW Championship at Methodical Madness, so he will be out later scouting the fatal four way. (97%)

The Dudley Boyz defeated the NEW Tag Team Champions Jushin Liger and Tajiri by disqualification at 18:12. This match was off the charts crazy, with lots of violent brawling from the Dudleyz and some amazing flying from Liger. Tajiri kicked the hell out of Bubba, busting him open in the process. It looked like the Dudleyz were on their way to victory, but Tajiri caught Devon in the Tarantula, and refused to let go of the hold, earning a disqualification for his team. A rematch has been scheduled for Methodical Madness. (90/83/97)

Chris Jericho comes out to the ring and talks trash about James Gibson. Jericho calls Gibson a glorified mid-carder, who needs to remember where he belongs in the long line of things. Jericho scoffs at Gibson's desire to wrestle the best, saying that Gibson has never defeated a true main eventer and will never get there. James Gibson comes out and says that if could have had five more seconds at Resistance, he would have made Jericho tap out. Gibson and Jericho then proceed to brawl, and need to be seperated by officials. (92%)

Ron Killings defeated Rene Dupree by disqualification at 15:21 when Kid Kash ran in. The match itself was the usual solid match that Dupree and Killings have together. Kash ran in and knocked Killings down with a chair, and a two on one beat down began. D'Lo Brown ended up making the save, as he was sick of the racist comments that Kash has been making recently as well. (84/83/85)

Eric Bischoff, with his bodyguard, Hardcore Holly, comes out to the ring and did his complaining routine. He says that it was bad enough that President Rowe let the PTL Invaders join the roster, but now Rowe has gone and hired six stars from Central States Wrestling! Bischoff is furious. He calls out his henchmen, Rob Van Dam and Edge to join him in the ring. They come out and Bischoff tells them that the CSW guys are coming, so they need to get rid of PTL quickly so they can focus on keeping the new recruits in line. He says that at Methodical Madness, there will be a classic survivor match. It will be the PTL guys, minus their leader Carlito, against Rob Van Dam, Edge, Hardcore Holly, Sonny Siaki, and Tommy Dreamer. If PTL loses this match, Bischoff will fire all of them, on the basis that their win/loss record is not up to pass with him. (72%)

Rhino defeated Chris Harris at 8:49 with the GORE! The match was tremendous, as they clicked really well together. James Storm was at ringside for the entire match and tried interferring on several occasions, until Rhino gored him off the apron. After the match, AMW beat down Rhino. Mick Foley wasn't there to make the save this week. (83/77/90)

John Bradshaw Layfield defeated NEW World Champion Rey Mysterio, Kid Kash, and Chris Jericho at 21:44 to become the NEW World Champion! The match was amazing, with all four men making frequent tags and keeping the action fresh. Kid Kash became a non-factor in the match when Mysterio knocked him off the top turnbuckles, and Kash collided with the steel barricade at ringside about ten minutes into the match. After that, JBL viciously grounded Jericho with the clothesline from hell. Mysterio then hit the 619 on JBL and went for the West Coast Pop, but JBL caught Mysterio in mid-air and power bombed him for the win. After the match, JBL had a staredown with The Rock, but was briefly disturbed when a hype video for Steve Corino blared on the tron. The show ended with JBL clutching the NEW Championship and looking paranoid. (89/91/87)

Things should be extra interesting heading into Blizzard on Monday!

NWA Midwest Burnout 11/03/06

The show starts with a recap of Clash of Champions

Perry Saturn vs. Sterling James Keenan
Basically, Saturn shows Keenan who's boss. Raven watched from the walkway.
WINNER: Perry Saturn (64/56/73)

You're dispicable
Chad Collyer is angry at William Regal for using the knucks. He claims that Regal can't beat him in a sound technical match, and that Regal's scared to even try. Challenges Regal to an "Old School" match at Full Throttle. Basically that means "No weapons, no cheating, no bulls***." (78)

Money in the Bank
Claudio Castagnoli is making a deposit at the bank. He tells us that he's Swiss, and noone knows investing and banking like the Swiss. And he's a sure bet against CM Punk next week. (57)

Jerry Lynn vs. CM Punk
We're told that Jerry Lynn requested this match after Punk derided Jimmy Jacobs last week. He and Punk go at it, and Punk gets taught a lesson, but Punk becomes the teacher about halfway through the match and picks up the win against the veteran Jerry Lynn.
WINNER: CM Punk (78/71/85)
After the match, Jacobs checks on Jerry Lynn and seems fairly upset at Punk

Lords of Backstage assaulting!
Nick Dinsmore is backstage. He asks Jay Briscoe to forgive him. Dinsmore hasn't been himself lately, and he's sorry he cheap shotted Briscoe in their match last week. Briscoe says not to worry about it, and Dinsmore apparently wasn't, as Rob Conway attacks Briscoe from behind. Dinsmore joins in and the two assault Briscoe until Mark Briscoe scares them off. (72)

You bleedin' plonkers!
The British Invasion are upset that those headcase's in the Naturals have offered a title shot when they haven't even won the titles. Isn't that a bit arse about face? We'll find out next week when the tag titles are on the line! (67)

Homicide vs. Matt Striker
Matt Striker asked for the match to prove he can go head to toe with Homicide. Surprisingly, he does. The match ends in a time limit draw.
WINNER: TIME LIMIT DRAW (70/71/71)

Olympic moron
Chris Benoit tells Kurt Angle to lay off. Chris Benoit has worked hard to get where he's at, and just because Kurt Angle wants to work hard doesn't mean Benoit should. Benoit's worked hard to be able to take it easy, and that's what he wants to do. (78)

Onyx vs. Arik Cannon
The NWA Midwest Interstate Champion looks good in his first match after winning the belt, as he takes Cannon to task.
WINNER: Onyx (61/43/79)

$100,000 richer
Ken Kennedy brags about being $100,000 richer. Not only did he prove that he's better than 19 of the greatest wrestlers in the world, but he made a good amount of money doing it. Now he's setting his sights on another type of gold: Championship gold. (87)

Abyss & Benoit vs. Batista & Angle
Abyss and Benoit didn't gel well, as Benoit made Abyss do most of the work. Angle wasn't happy with that either, though Batista didn't seem to mind. Benoit again walks off and leaves Abyss alone and Batista picks up the win over Abyss for the second week in a row. James Mitchell was pissed, but Angle gives him the Olympic Slam as an exclamation point.
WINNERS: Angle & Batista (84/85/84)

Overall: 73

This is the final episode of NWA Midwest Saturday Night. It's a "best of" clip show

Onyx vs. Delirious vs. Jerry Lynn
This was the first ever match on NWA Midwest Saturday Night, and it was definitely interesting. The action was everywhere, including under the ring. Jerry Lynn picked up the win, and Homicide attacks everyone after the match was over, setting up the Jerry Lynn-Homicide feud.

You won't be seeing much more of that!
Onyx is backstage. He's holding the Interstate Title. He says fans should enjoy that match, as it's one of the few he's lost, and he won't be losing many in the future. He's the Interstate Champ, and he plans to stay that way.

The Raven-Punk feud
We see a recap of the awesome verbal feud between Raven and CM Punk. Some serious verbage was used by each worker to assault the other.

It's not over!!!
Perry Saturn is holding something in his hands. It's part of a mop. Actually, it's part of "Moppy." Saturn is angry at Raven because Raven cost him his spot in WWE. After Raven shoved Moppy into the wood-chipper, everyone realized how ridiculous the gimmick really was. If Raven could've just done that without looking like a fool, Saturn wouldn't have lost his job. So when he got an offer to soften up Raven, he was more than happy to take it. And now he'll make Raven look like the fool.

Funk returns!
The clip is of the Ken Kennedy vs. Claudio Castagnoli match in which Terry Funk returns to attack Kennedy. Funk had lost his job at the previous "Event" after Kennedy included fine print into a match contract. Funk returned after calling in a favor from Commissioner Piper and the two feuded until Vendetta, when Ken Kennedy beat Funk in a Texas Deathmatch.

Angle's first appearance
We see Kurt Angle's debut on Saturday Night during "Piper's Pit" with Chris Benoit on 9-9-06. This leads to the Kurt Angle-Chris Benoit feud which is still going on.

It's just the beginning!
Kurt Angle wants to assure the fans that they've just seen the beginning of him in NWA Midwest. And that he's not going to let up on NWA Champion Chris Benoit.

Benoit vs. Sabu
We see what Chris Benoit used to be, as he takes on Sabu on 8-26-06. If Benoit would have lost this match, he wouldn't have won the Title at Hotter Than Hell. It was a stiff and Brutal match, and it set up the current reign of Champion Chris Benoit
