NWA: New England Wrestling
Saturday Night
November 18th 2006

Welcome to week two of Saturday Night as the "B" show!

Tajiri (with Jushin Liger) vs. Xavier
This was another good outing for Xavier, as he squared off against one half of the NEW Tag Team Champions. The match was really good and kept a fast pace, and featured Xavier taking several stiff kicks to the head. In the end, Tajiri's green mist was the key to success.
Winner @ 6:09: Tajiri (81/65/97)

A hype video for Edge played. The montage included shots of Edge spearing all the biggest names in wrestling, including The Rock, Mick Foley, Big Show, and even President Rowe. (79%)

Test vs. Shark Boy
Yes, this was a rematch of last week's squash match. The difference this week was that Shark Boy was prepared for Test's aggressive assault and used his speed to keep up with Test for several minutes. Shark Boy was on the verge of making a great upset, until Test floored him with a big boot. Test then hit the pump handle slam for the decisive victory.
Winner @ 5:20: Test (69/64/75)

In a pretaped segment, Ron Killings talks about his disgust for Krazy Kid Kash and Rene Dupree. Killings said that all his life people like Kash have tried to hold him down, but at Methodical Madness he will silence the hate once and for all. (81%)

Chris Hero vs. Sonny Siaki vs. Johnny Devine
The real heat in this match was between Siaki and Hero, heading into the big survival match at Methodical Madness. They wanted to brawl, but Johnny Devine kept sneaking in with roll-ups and school boy attempts to pick up an upset. Hero and Siaki then forgot about their issue to double team Devine for a bit. Using teamwork, they sling shot Devine into the ring post, knocking him out in the process. The match then went back to just Siaki and Hero trying to kill each other. Siaki eventually picked up the win with a combination of a school boy and grabbing the ropes for leverage to pin Hero.
Winner @ 7:45: Sonny Siaki (76/68/84)

A hype video for the JBL/Rock main event at Methodical Madness plays. The video contains footage of JBL beating Rey Mysterio for the NEW Championship, Rock making his return, and the brutal Rock/Bashams match from the first Blizzard. Rock/JBL at Methodical Madness could be the bloodiest brawl of the year! (84%)

The Dudley Boyz vs. Brian Kendrick and Jerrelle Clark
Last week Kendrick told Clark that if they lost this match, he would kick his ass. Kendrick and Clark put up a strong showing against the Dudleyz. Clark even hits the 630 splash on Bubba at one point and would have gotten the win if Devon hadn't broken up the cover attempt. The Dudleyz made a big comeback and Bubba instructed Devon to get a table. Devon set a table up at ringside, but in the ring Kendrick tried making a comeback. He went for the Sliced Bread #2 on Bubba, but Bubba countered and threw him over the ropes and right through the table at ringside! This left Clark as an easy target for the 3D, as the Dudleyz picked up the big win.
Winners @ 9:17: The Dudley Boyz (86/78/95)

After the match, Kendrick is too hurt to follow up on his promise to kick Clark's ass, but he challenges Clark to a match at Methodical Madness, which Clark accepts.

overall: 80

We got a 2.12 rating for 'NEW Saturday Night!

Lucha Libre PPV Week 1

Results:

the Ronin d. Matt Stryker and Octagon
Ultimo Guerrero d. Pegasso in a middleweight tournament quarter-final
Billy Boy d. Super Dragon in a middleweight tournament quarter-final
Histeria II d. Jody Fleisch in a middleweight tournament quarter-final
Ultimo Dragon d. EZ Money in a middleweight tournament quarter-final
El Hijo Del Santo and Shocker d. Abismo Negro and Cibernetico

the Ronin d. Matt Stryker and Octagon
Total destruction on the part of the Ronin here. They brutalized their opponents with a series of stiff moves. They finished off their opponents with the Way of the Warrior which is Low Ki hitting the Ki Krusher and Yang hitting the Yang Time as a follow up. I'd give it ***1/4. 72/57/88

Juventud Guerrera was interviewed backstage. He mocked Perro Aguayo Jr. for not being on his level and says it'll be a long time before Aguayo gets another shot at the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship.

Middleweight Tournament: Ultimo Guerrero d. Pegasso
Pegasso took Guerrero early by surprise with a lot of fast paced and high flying offense. Guerrero managed to get a low blow and pinned Pegasso with a roll up with his feet on the ropes. I'd give this ***. 69/55/84

Shocker was interviewed backstage. Next week he faces Donovan Morgan and Acero Dorado for the Galavision Title. He plans to finally win the title.

Middleweight Tournament: Billy Boy d. Super Dragon
This was a hard hitting and high flying affair. Billy Boy got the win after hitting a brutal enziguri followed by a german suplex. I'd give this ***1/4. 81/77/85

Middleweight Tournament: Histeria II d. Jody Fleisch
This started at 100 mph and never stopped. Fleisch crashed and burned on a splash from the top rope and Histeria hit a Gory bomb to get the win. I'd give this **** for a great match. 84/76/92

A hype video played for the La Parkas.

Middleweight Tournament: Ultimo Dragon d. EZ Money
Money injured the arm of Dragon early and spent the whole match working it over. Money went for the release vertical suplex but Dragon managed to hit the Asai DDT to the shock of the crowd and picked up the win. I'd give this ****1/4. 85/74/97

Main Event: El Hijo Del Santo and Shocker d. Abismo Negro and Cibernetico
This was brawling mostly. They went all over the arena with Santo just abusing Cibernetico with every chance he got. Santo hit a powerbomb on Cibernetico and came off the top rope with a diving headbutt to pick up the win. **** for an awesome main event. 84/79/89

Really great start to the PPV era of NWA: Mexico. I'd give this show an 80% overall. I've been told that 3770 people were at the show and it pulled a .51 buy rate.

NWA: United Kingdom Main Event Wrestling PPV Week 2:

November 23, 2006:

Adam Windsor d. Flash Christian in the opening bout. Pretty good match as there was some excellent high flying. I really think that Adam Windsor has break out star potential with this company. *** 58/28/88

Monty Brown came out and ran down BG James. He calls James a fat slob that is a disgrace to the belt that he's currently holding. He's the model of what a wrestler should look like and he's going to honor all the U.K. fans by taking that title. BG James will feel the POOOOOOUNCE!!!

the Canadian Grapplers d. the Roughnecks, the New Canadians and the Hampton Court. A lot of these teams are new to the game. If you need to know who are in the teams check out the NWA: United Kingdom home page. Pretty standard match as no one was totally confortable with their partners. ** 54/35/74

The cameras catch up with BG James backstage. He asks who the hell is Monty Brown. What has Monty Brown accomplished in wrestling. James points out that he was a 5x WWF Tag Team Champion, a 1x WWF Intercontinental Champion, a 2x NWA World Tag Team Champion and a 1x USWA Heavyweight Champion. What titles has Monty Brown won in a big time promotion? He has the experience and he'll be welcoming Brown to the Dogg House.

Ballard Brothers d. the Young Lions, Silent But Violent and Shemus and Zebra. Ballard Brothers had the advantage here as the most experienced team and really used that to their advantage. Not that great. ** 51/27/76

Mike Sanders came out to the ring dressed like Kip James. Pretending to be James he talks about how he has no personality or actual ability. James charges out and they brawl until security pull them apart.

Ballard Brothers d. the Canadian Grapplers to win the European Tag Team Titles. About like their match last week with the same result as the Ballards win the belts. Pretty good match. ***1/4 67/42/93

Norman Smiley is out for an interview. He trash talks Adam Windsor and says he'd like to smack the smirk off of his face.

BG James, Kip James and Sean Waltman d. Billy Kidman, Mike Sanders and Monty Brown in the main event. Pretty good brawl here. This was just a mess of guys brawling through the crowd and in the ring. Win came when Waltman hit the X-Factor on Sanders to get the win. **3/4 70/67/73

NWA: New England Wrestling
Blizzard
November 20th 2006

The Rock opens the show with an in-ring interview. His ankle is hurting, from the beating that he took from the Cabinet two weeks ago. He calls out JBL and the rest of the Cabinet, promising to kick their monkey asses. However, Chris Jericho comes out instead and gets in the Rock's face. Jericho whines that he is not main eventing the pay-per-view on Friday, and blames it on The Rock hogging the spotlight again. This deteriorates into a brawl, with Eric Bischoff eventually coming out and making a James Gibson and The Rock vs. JBL and Chris Jericho match for tonight's main event. (98%)

Ace Steel vs. Xavier
This was a tremendous match, full of crisp wrestling exchanges and some hard hitting moves. The crowd was not too into it at first, but were getting into it towards the end. Xavier looked to be on the verge of getting his first win in NEW, and he sort of did, but it was when Steel lost his temper and cracked him over the head with a steel chair at 7:05. Steel then left the arena to a chorus of boos, the crowd was angry at him for ruining the match.
Winner by DQ @ 7:05: Xavier ((81/67/95)

Backstage, Dapper Dave Choate is standing by with Brian Kendrick. Kendrick says that he promised to kick Jerrelle Clark's ass, and that it is going to happen at Methodical Madness. Kendrick says that he has learned that he cannot count on anyone but himself, so he is going to pursue a singles career in NEW. (83%)

Pushing the Limits (Carlito, Chris Hero, and Kevin Steen) vs. The Cabinet (Orlando Jordan, Doug Basham, and Danny Basham)
Fellow PTL members, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, and Adam Pearce were in the PTL corner for the match. The match itself was pretty decent, with Hero and Carlito hitting some innovative double team moves on the Cabinet. The Bashams are experts on isolating an opponent, so they were able to keep Kevin Steen in their corner for a long stretch. Steen finally made the tag, and Carlito cleaned house, on his way to win. It was at this point that all five men from Team Bischoff (Rob Van Dam, Edge, Hardcore Holly, Sonny Siaki, and Tommy Dreamer) attacked the PTL guys at ringside. Carlito was distracted, and easily pinned by Orlando Jordan. After the match, Team Bischoff decimated PTL, leaving all six members a bloody mess.
Winners @ 9:55: The Cabinet (76/71/81)

Backstage, Booker T is walking around, when he bumps into Krazy Kid Kash and Rene Dupree. Kash scoffs "Great, another one of YOU people, that's what we needed." Booker responds with "Tell me you didn't just say that! I want both you suckas in a match, right now!" So a handicap match is set for after the break. (86%)

Booker T vs. Krazy Kid Kash and Rene Dupree
The match itself wasn't too great, but the crowd was really behind Booker. Booker was in control for the first several minutes, but fell victim to the numbers game. Dupree and Kash made frequent tags, not allowing Booker a moment to catch his breath. Finally, Booker threw Kash over the ropes and was able to hit the scissors kick on Dupree. Kash was the legal man, so Booker couldn't pin Dupree, but tried anyway. This allowed Kash to grab some brass knuckles and clock Booker in the head without the ref noticing, giving Kash the win. This prompted a two on one beat-down, until D'Lo Brown and Ron Killings made the save.
Winners @ 8:01: Krazy Kid Kash and Rene Dupree (84/87/78)

Backstage, Mick Foley apologizes to Rhino for the misunderstanding last week. Rhino says it is okay, but warns Foley not to ever cross him. Foley says that won't be a problem, in fact, Foley asked real nicely and they have a match for the NEW Tag Team titles after the break! Apparently Tajiri owed Foley a favor or something. (84%)

NEW Tag Team Championship: Jushin Liger and Tajiri © vs. Mick Foley and Rhino
This was a really good match, with some fun brawling all around. Liger and Rhino had some fun exchanges, that resulted in Liger eating a GORE! Foley and Tajiri were acting like old chums and not taking the match seriously, until Tajiri hit a sudden spin kick to Foley's head! That ended the fun, and they had a violent brawl. Unfortunately, America's Most Wanted ran in and cost Foley and Rhino the match, as Liger managed to pin Foley to retain the titles.
Winners @ 7:59: Jushin Liger and Tajiri (84/80/88)

Another eerie hype video aired. It featured Steve Corino making numerous threats to JBL. "You will pay for your smear campaign" threatened Corino. The camera finally focused on Corino's face and he looks pissed! The camera then pulled back a bit, revealing Roderick Strong and Austin Aries standing by Corino's side. They also looked pissed. "JBL, we are coming for you. You better be watching your back at Methodical Mayhem!" promises Aries. The camera then fades to black. (90%)

The Rock and James Gibson vs. John Bradshaw Layfield and Chris Jericho
This turns out to be an awesome match, with a big assist from a super hot crowd. Rock and Jericho catch the fire from their previous feud and rip into each other, though Rock makes it clear that he wants JBL. Rock takes down Jericho with a spinebuster, and tags in Gibson, who aggressively uses some ground submission holds to weaken Y2J. JBL is tagged in and violently catches Gibson with a big boot. The referee then loses control and Rock and Jericho get involved and a huge brawl erupts. With no end in sight, the ref has no choice but to call for a disqualification! Typically, the Cabinet runs in, but Rock and Gibson fight them off. Rock tosses the Bashams over the ropes, while Gibson sling shots Orlando Jordan to the floor. Jericho and JBL then retreat because they are cowards, leaving the good guys standing tall to end the show.
No contest due to double DQ @ 12:03 (90/92/86)

And that's a wrap for the hard sell for Methodical Madness!

since I'm behind, I'll do quick results for the 11/17 Burnout:

Quote:

Claudio vs. Delirious
Pretty entertaining match.  Both guys seemed to be having fun.  Punk interrupts the match w/ Jimmy Jacobs.  They attack Claudio.  Jacobs hesitated, though. (71/54/88)

Jerry Lynn challenged Benoit to a match. (61)

B-Boy vs. Jack Evans
Evans tried to impress B-Boy with some breakdancing, but B-Boy beat the pants off Evans.  Literally. (67/48/87)

Raven ripped Saturn a new one.  He may have actually hurt the feud. (88)

William Regal & The British Invasion vs. Chad Collyer & The Naturals
Both teams were fired up.  Regal wouldn't step in the ring with Collyer.  The Brits win with some creative teamwork.  Otherwise known as cheating. (74/70/78)

Onyx cut a promo on "whitey."  Claims that a champion of his caliber should have better opponents than wannabe's like Jack Evans (58)

Matt Striker vs. Bobby Roode
Striker picks up the win after Roode loses his temper.  Again.  Homicide attacked Striker as Striker tried to celebrate with the crowd. (66/60/72)

CM Punk told Claudio that it's not over, it's just begun (85)

Onyx vs. Sterling James Keenan
Onyx assaults Raven's lackey.  It was more competitive than Onyx vs. Evans at least (64/52/76)

Jim E. rips The Brits because they're all cheating assholes. (86)

Benoit vs. Jerry Lynn
Lynn actually controls Benoit most of the match.  Benoit really worked hard.  Angle was doing commentary and actually applauded Benoit after the champ EARNED a win. (78/69/88)
