NWA: New England Wrestling Methodical Madness November 24th 2006 The show starts with a hype package set to "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed. The focus is on the Rock/JBL and Jericho/Gibson matches. Pyro explodes and the show begins! President Rowe and Professor Plague welcome us to Methodical Madness! Ace Steel and Test vs. Chris Sabin and Xavier This match was not announced for the show, but made for a really good opener. Xavier and Sabin stole the show in a singles match a few weeks ago on Saturday Night, and they came to respect each other for it. They are giving it a try as a team. They do well for the majority of the match, though Test manages to dominate with his size advantage. Ace Steel almost loses his cool and tries to use a chair, but Test talks him out of it. The momentary lapse of focus allowed Sabin and Xavier to hit flying moves off the turnbuckles onto Test and Steel on the floor. The risky move was effective, yet costly, and Test managed to hit the big boot on Xavier for the victory. Winners: Ace Steel and Test @ 8:30 (81/74/89) Brian Kendrick vs. Jerrelle Clark These two former partners put on a dazzling performance against each other, nearly stealing the show! Lots of awesome cruiserweight brawling in the early going, before turning into a well orchestrated spot-fest. The highlight of the match had to be when Clark went for a 630 splash off of the center ropes onto Kendrick, who had been sprawled out on the announce table. It was a true "holy shit" moment. The action spilled back into the ring, and Kendrick dominated with some cocky heel work, including using the cocky pin for pinfall attempts. Clark was able to rebound and hit a surprise school boy on Kendrick for the victory. After the match, both men recieved a standing ovation. Winner: Jerrelle Clark @ 13:45 (85/71/100) -Backstage, The Rock does a promo, putting himself over. The Rock also puts over the CSW guys, but warns them not to cost JBL the match tonight, because The Rock wants to become NEW Champion fairly. -In another backstage area, Eric Bischoff tells Kid Kash and Rene Dupree that he is sick of the rascist bullshit and that he wants it to end. Kash argues that Bischoff is oppressing his freedom of speech. Bischoff tells the evil duo that he has added Booker T to their match as the referee. Kash and Dupree are not pleased. D'Lo Brown and Ron Killings vs. Kid Kash and Rene Dupree; Referee: Booker T I wouldn't go as far to say that Kid Kash is buried in this match, but this is the signal for the end of his rascist angle. Brown and Killings dominated the majority of the match, though Kash and Dupree got some good shots in. Dupree was showing off the French Tickler when Killings hit a springboard dropkick. Kash snuck in with a low blow, which Booker did not see, but knew what happened when he saw Killings on the ground with his legs together. Booker then hit the Bookend on Kash and the scissors kick on Dupree, before dragging Killings onto Kash and delivering a fast three count. Winners: D'Lo Brown and Ron Killings @ 7:55 (82/83/81) Rhino and Mick Foley vs. America's Most Wanted Rhino and Foley came into this match not sure if they wanted to keep their partnership going, as they came up short against AMW a few weeks ago on Blizzard, but the match went very well. AMW used their typical heel trickery to gain an advantage, but Foley and Rhino weren't buying any of it. Rhino hit the GORE on both Harris and Storm, making them easy target for Foley and Mr. Socko. AMW almost picked up the win when Gail Kim made a surprise appearance and hit an off the turnbuckle hurricanrana on Foley. Harris covered Foley and got a 2.9999 count. Harris was furious and suffered another GORE from Rhino before being pinned by Foley. Winners: Mick Foley and Rhino @ 9:00 (84/82/86) Ten Man Elimination Tag Team match (If PTL loses, they are fired) Pushing the Limits (Chris Hero, Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Kevin Steen, and Adam Pearce) with Carlito vs. Team Bischoff (Rob Van Dam, Edge, Sonny Siaki, Tommy Dreamer, and Hardcore Holly) with Eric Bischoff Before the match begins, a referee handcuffs Eric Bischoff and Carlito together to make sure they cannot interfere. The match was more methodical and slow than one might think, but the match was solid and featured some upset pinning situation. The eliminations were: Frankie Kazarian pinned Hardcore Holly at 4:22. Edge pinned Adam Pearce at 5:59. Sonny Siaki pinned Kevin Steen at 7:45. Matt Sydal pinned Tommy Dreamer at 10:19. Rob Van Dam pinned Frankie Kazarian at 13:44. Chris Hero pinned Rob Van Dam at 14:05 (RVD was still recovering from a five star frog splash). Matt Sydal pinned Sonny Siaki at 16:50. Edge pinned Chris Hero at 22:51. Edge pinned Matt Sydal at 29:44. The final sequence between Matt Sydal and Edge was really special. The crowd was really behind Sydal at that point, as they wanted him to save PTL. However, Edge was a bastard and hit a superplex off the turnbuckles and got the big victory. After the match, Carlito coped with the loss by storming the ring and attacking Edge. Carlito took a microphone and said that he wasn't in the match, therefore he's not fired. This got a mixed reaction from the crowd. Winner: Edge @ 29:44 (76/70/83) NEW Tag Team Championship: Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Yoshiro Tajiri © vs. Bubba and Devon Dudley This was an awesome tag team match that blew away their previous encounter on Saturday Night. The Dudleyz brought their working boots and were able to mix well with the stiff shots and high flying moves of their opponents. The action spilled all over ringside, and both teams were nearly counted out on a few occasions. The finish came down to Tajiri attempting to spit green mist in Bubba's face. Bubba moved and Tajiri accidently spit on Liger, with the mist covering up his eyes (on the mask, of course). The Dudleyz then delivered the 3D to both men and Bubba covered Tajiri for the victory, winning the titles in the process! Winners: The Dudley Boyz @ 13:19 (90/81/100) Boston Harbor Championship: James Gibson © vs. Chris Jericho Last month at Resistance, they went to a 30 minute draw. In the build for this match, both Gibson and Jericho boasted that they would defeat one another in under five minutes. They sure made a good attempt at it, as the early goings of the match featured both men eagerly and aggressively going for their respective submission finishers. The match went longer than five minutes, and they were able to match the quality of their Resistance match. Gibson and Jericho were at a stalemate and their battle spilled to ringside. Gibson whipped Jericho into the steel steps, which cut a nasty gash into his back. Jericho was outraged and flung Gibson into the barricade gut first. Both men were hurting and they spilled back into the ring, but them being so weak gave a surprise third party the advantage. Newcomer Petey Williams ran into the ring and hit the Canadian Destroyer on James Gibson! The crowd roared with surprise, most of them had never seen the Destroyer before. Jericho stood still out of shock and was an easy target for the Canadian Destroyer as well! By this time the referee called for the bell, and called the match a no contest. Williams then grabbed the Boston Harbor belt and posed with it, before running out into the crowd. No contest due to interferance @ 20:44 (97/94/100) NEW World Championship: John Bradshaw Layfield © vs. The Rock This match featured no disqualifications, and both men took full advantage of that rule. There were very few actual wrestling holds in this match, as both men wanted to kill each other. They brawled on all four sides of the ring and used everything in their path as weapons. The Rock smashed a monitor from the announce table over JBL's head. JBL came back with a sick chair shot that busted Rock wide open. JBL focused his assault on Rock's head and continued to also target the ankle that the Bashams had destroyed a few weeks ago. JBL threw the steel steps into the ring and wanted to powerbomb Rock onto them. Rock countered and hit the Rock Bottom onto the steps! By this point the Cabinet ran in. Orlando Jordan held Rock still while the Bashams took turns hitting Rock with baseball bats. The crowd was now chanting "CSW" in hopes that the new hirees would make the save. There was no sign of them. JBL, who was bleeding heavily, got to his feet and hit the clothesline from Hell on Rock. JBL went for the cover and it got two. JBL then hit a second clothesline from Hell, and this time managed to cover Rock for the victory. Winner: John Bradshaw Layfield @ 17:10 (92/96/83) Even though he had won the match, JBL was not finished with The Rock. JBL instructed the Bashams to repeat their attack on Rock's ankle. The Bashams were happy to oblige. Danny wrapped a chair around Rock's ankle while Doug hit a leg drop off the turnbuckle onto it! JBL said that wasn't enough and Orlando wrapped a chair around Rock's neck. Doug was about to leap off the turnbuckle onto it when "Personal Jesus" started playing on the sound system. The lights went out... and when they came back on, Steve Corino, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong were all standing at ringside, one on each side of the ring. The crowd went nuts as the CSW guys stormed into the ring and wiped out the Cabinet! Samoa Joe hit a musclebuster on Orlando Jordan, Roderick Strong hit a modified backbreaker on Doug Basham, Austin Aries hit a dragon suplex on Danny Basham, and Steve Corino put JBL down with the Old School Expulsion! To cap it all off, Austin Aries climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit the 450 splash on JBL! The show ended with Corino, Joe, Aries, and Strong holding each other's arms in the air, posing over the wreckage known as the Cabinet! |
