Lucha Libre PPV Week 2
http://nwamexico.blogspot.com/2006/11/luch...ppv-week-2.html

Results:

the Ronin d. Jody Fleisch and Super Calo
Ultimo Dragon d. Histeria II in a middleweight tournament semi-final
Ultimo Guerrero d. Billy Boy in a middleweight tournament semi-final
La Parkas d. Super Dragon and Teddy Hart
Psychosis d. Mr. Aguila
Acero Dorado d. Donovan Morgan © and Shocker to win the Galavision Title
Ultimo Dragon d. Ultimo Guerrero to win the Mexican National Middleweight Title

the Ronin d. Jody Fleisch and Super Calo
This match went pretty much exactly like last week. They just absolutely destroyed their opponents before ending the match. The Ronin are now 2-0. I'll give this ***. 71/58/85

Middleweight Tournament: Ultimo Dragon d. Histeria II
This was a great high flying contest. Ultimo Dragon picked up the win via submission when he locked on the dragon sleeper. I'll give this bout ****. 81/70/93

Middleweight Tournament: Ultimo Guerrero d. Billy Boy
A solid match here. Guerrero dominated most of the action and looks very strong heading into the finals. It should be a classic main event tonight. I'll give this ***1/4. 80/76/85

Perro Aguayo Jr. was interviewed backstage. He says that he'll never give up until the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship is around his waist again.

La Parkas d. Super Dragon and Teddy Hart
This match features the return of Teddy Hart to NWA: Mexico and it also features the Parkas becoming a regular tag team again. This was a high flying and hard hitting match. The Parkas ended up grabbing a hard fought win due to their superior tag experience. **** for a great match. 83/76/90

Psychosis d. Mr. Aguila
Aguila missed the moonsault and Psychosis rolled him up for the win. Psychosis is starting to move into a position where he could challenge for the title again. He still has a few more key matches to win though. Mr. Aguila needs to pull something out of his hat or he'll quickly become irrelevant in Mexico. I'll give this ***. 75/71/80

Galavision Title Match: Acero Dorado d. Donovan Morgan © and Shocker
A rare triple threat match for this promotion. Acero Dorado wins his first gold by submitting Shocker with a texas cloverleaf. If you ask me this three way feud has the potential to be the best thing going for Mexico over the next couple of months. I'll give this ***1/4. ***1/4 83/82/85

Mexican National Middleweight Title Match: Ultimo Dragon d. Ultimo Guerrero
Guerrero had cheated his way through the entire tournament but he just couldn't put Ultimo Dragon away here. Dragon got the win after an Asai DDT. This was a great match and a possible MOTYC. ****1/4. 84/72/96

Another great PPV. I'd give this a 79% overall. I'm told the show did a .56 buyrate and 3805 fans were packed into the arena.

NWA: New England Wrestling
Saturday Night
November 25th 2006

The show opens with some still photo highlights from Methodical Madness. Dramatic music plays as Steve Corino, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong lay waste to the Cabinet.

President Rowe, Professor Plague, and Dapper Dave Choate welcome us to the show in a studio. Tonight's Saturday Night is a "Best of" episode, featuring some of the best matches that we've seen so far on Saturday Night!

The first match featured is from the 7/1 edition of Saturday Night. It is America's Most Wanted retaining the NEW Tag Team Championship over D'Lo Brown and Tajiri at 6:28. This was a forgotten little gem of a match, and it is fun to look at this match because so much has changed since then. (82/73/91)

Next is a match from the 8/5 episode. It is Carlito's debut match against Ron Killings. This is another solid mid-card match, and good to look back on since Carlito has been so instrumental in PTL coming to New England. Carlito won thanks to a run-in from Rene Dupree. (83/78/88)

A big match from 8/26 is highlighted next. One week removed from Summerslam, Chris Jericho wins his coveted NEW Championship back in a triple threat match against defending champ The Rock and John Bradshaw Layfield. This was a ppv quality match, and it was the last time we saw The Rock before he went on tour as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Jericho picked up the win at 9:26. (93/97/86)

Next is some footage from 9/2 when the PTL invasion began in full force. It moves ahead to Manchester Mayhem and the big ten man tag match from that show. It finishes off with some clips from last night's Methodical Madness pay-per-view, including Edge and Matt Sydal fighting as the last two survivors in the ten man survival match. Edge defeated Matt Sydal, which means that the PTL guys are all FIRED (though there is debate over Carlito, since he was not in the match).

The final segment of this "Best of" show is Rey Mysterio defending the NEW Championship against Kid Kash from 10/28. This was an awesome match, and really made both men look like stars. Mysterio won at 14:23 with the West Coast Pop before it became a run-in festival. (89/84/95)

Rowe, Plague, and Choate then spend some time putting over how wonderful Methodical Madness was and speculate on what could possibly happen Monday night at Blizzard!

Main Event Wrestling PPV #3

Adam Windsor d. the Amazing Darkstone. Back and forth action that saw Windsor pick up the win with a handful of tights. **3/4 61/43/79

BG James is interviewed backstage. Tonight he defends the British Commonwealth Title against Alex Shane. After he gets past that defense he'll probably have to face Monty Brown.

Johnny Smith d. Billy Kidman to win the British Welterweight Title. A decent back and forth match that saw Smith picking up what many considered to be an upset to win the title. All of the U.K. belts have a holder now. **3/4 68/60/76

Adam Windsor came out and challenged Norman Smiley to a match next week.

Brent Albright and Doug Williams d. the Ballard Brothers © to win the European Tag Team Titles. Total destruction on the part of Albright and Williams. This looked like a squash match for the most part. *** 66/49/84

A hype video played for the Mike Sanders vs. Kip James feud.

Sean Waltman d. the Zebra Kid in a decent match. A lot of cheating from the Kid but Waltman managed to pull off the win. **1/2 59/42/76

Monty Brown is interviewed backstage. He tells James to enjoy the title while he can because the Alpha Male will be winning it soon.

BG James © d. Alex Shane to retain the British Commonwealth Title. Great brawl here as they went all over the building. James was busted wide open and he looked to be out of it at one point. He picked up the win after Shane missed an elbow off the top rope and he hit the pumphandle slam. ***1/4 72/56/88

Raven vs. Abyss
In a PPV quality match, James Mitchell helps Abyss pick up the win. Afterwards, Batista saves Raven. Raven didn't seem happy with that.
WINNER: Abyss (81/77/85)

Obligatory setup..
Kurt Angle is backstage. He applauds Benoit for actually working last week. He reminds Benoit that Sunday night they'll prove who the best wrestler in NWA Midwest is. This brings out William Regal, who tells Angle that he's not better than Regal. Regal is the best wrestler in Britain, and thus the best in the world. The two decide on a match later tonight. (91)

Chase Stevens vs. Nigel McGuinness
The two fight, and Nigel picks up the win after "playing" with Stevens for a bit.
WINNER: Nigel McGuinness (76/74/78)

Bring out the best...
Onyx asks NWA: Midwest officials to give him a truly worthwhile opponent at Full Throttle. He's begging for a challenge. (63)

Claudio vs. CM Punk & Jimmy Jacobs
Claudio asked for the match after Punk and Jimmy assaulted him last week. Claudio gets the best of Jacobs, but Punk tags in and gets the win with the Anaconda Vice. After the match, Punk tells Jacobs to assault Claudio, and Jacobs does after hesitating.
WINNER: Punk and Jacobs (74/66/82)

Wankers.
The British Invasion are backstage. They call the Naturals wankers. Nigel brags about beating Stevens, and states that Burchill will beat Andy Douglas later on tonight. (69)

Perry Saturn vs. John Walters
Saturn beats Walters and finishes him off with the Raven Effect after imitating Raven's cross pose.
WINNER: Saturn (62/56/69)

$25,000. If you want it
Ken Kennedy makes an offer. If someone wants $25,000, all they have to do is beat him at Full Throttle. Anyone can accept the invitation. (71)

Andy Douglas vs. Paul Burchill
The two brawl. Burchill uses his power to his advantage, but Douglas eeks out a win after Harry Smith attempts to help Burchill.
WINNER: Douglas (78/79/77)

Don't you... forget about me
Chad Collyer is in a dirty old gym. He stops his training long enough to remind William Regal that regardless of what happens tonight, they're meeting one on one Sunday Night. (80)

Kurt Angle vs. William Regal
The two wrestle an intense match up. Angle picks up the win with an ankle lock as Regal attempts to go for the knux. As Angle celebrates, Benoit attacks him with the belt. Then Benoit and Regal beat Angle.
WINNER: Kurt Angle (85/88/80)
Scrooge McSuck

I'm too hefty for my slacks. The zippers off it's tracks. I've stretched it to the maa-a-a-a-x.
