Preview for NEW Blizzard:

NEW Champion John Bradshaw Layfield has been in a rotten mood since Methodical Madness. Even though he retained the NEW title over The Rock, he has had four former CSW stars jumping him and the Cabinet at his every turn. JBL has demanded interview time to try and straighten a few things out.

Eric Bischoff has announced that he is willing to hire back one member of the recently fired Pushing the Limits. While Chris Hero will be battling Carlito at No Leaf Clover for Carlito's spot on the roster, Bischoff has announced that Frankie Kazarian and Matt Sydal must compete in a "Best of Seven" series. The winner will be rehired by NEW! The first match will take place on this week, on Blizzard!

The tension between Edge and Rob Van Dam has boiled over. This week's main event will be the long awaited showdown between these two huge stars of New England Wrestling. Edge will face Rob Van Dam, one on one! Oh, and Eric Bischoff's bodyguard, Hardcore Holly, has been assigned as the special enforcer for the match. Does this spell trouble for RVD?

Also scheduled to appear: Steve Corino, Samoa Joe, Chris Jericho, Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson, Petey Williams, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Rhino, Mick Foley, and Booker T.

Yeah, NEW Saturday Night is a rerun yet again, but Blizzard is going to be brand new!

NEW Saturday Night!
May 13th 2006

-The show opens with a car pulling into the parking lot. It is a surprisingly beat down piece of crap car. The door opens and out steps… the Rated R Superstar, Edge! Edge looks angry and he storms into the building. (79)

-The opening video for NEW Saturday Night plays! The opening video is set to “World Wide Suicide” by Pearl Jam. The clips include Foley and Flair brawling, Team 3D putting Big Show through a table, and the Rock laying out Sonny Siaki.

-Ernie Rowe and Professor Plague welcome us to the show! This week is airing out of a high school gymnasium in Boston, Massachusetts. The same stage from last week has been set up and the fans are on their feet.

Match 1: Ric Flair vs D'Lo Brown

The crowd is disappointedly not into this match, though D’Lo tries really hard to get some face heat. Flair uses every cheap shot in the book, including raking Brown’s eyes on the ropes. Flair is cheating just for fun, not because he needs to rely on it to win. Flair hits a low blow and sets Brown up for the figure four, to which Brown taps out at 5:55!

Winner: Ric Flair, *1/2 (72/75/68)

Plague: They don’t call him the “dirtiest player in the game for nothing!

Rowe: That was disgraceful. Flair could have wrestled a clean, competitive match, but decided to cheat for the sheer hell out it!

Commercial break.

-After the break, Flair is still in the ring. He has a microphone.

Flair: WHOOOOOOOOOO! That’s how I get it done! I’m the dirtiest player in the game, and I’m still the greatest wrestler in the world! How I got stuck in this piece of crap promotion known as New England Wrestling is beyond me! I’m a long ways away from Flair Country and I can tell. For starters, you asshole fans don’t respect me, but that’s okay because I don’t respect you either. You know why? Because you choose to cheer that fat, out of shape, blob known as Mick Foley! You people… (Flair is cut off by Foley’s music).

Foley: That’s enough, Ric. You can say whatever you want about me, I can take it, but what the hell do you think you are doing bad-mouthing New England Wrestling? I am damn proud to be here and I think NEW has the potential to be the greatest promotion North America has seen in a long time. In my opinion, Flair, if NEW sucks it is because we are stuck with a locker-room cancer like you!

Foley then drops the mic and charges the ring. Flair and Foley get into another brawl. However, before any referees can stop this one, Foley pulls Mr. Socko out of his sweat pants and puts it on his hand and shoves it down the throat of Ric Flair. Flair finally escapes and vomits at ringside. (88%).

Commercial break.

Match 2: Rene Dupree vs Tajiri (Opening Round Tournament Match)

This turns into a clean little match. Dupree takes control of Tajiri in the early going, but Tajiri fires back and hits all of his signature spots, including the Tarantula and some stiff kicks to Dupree’s head. Unfortunately, Tajiri goes for a flying crossbody off the ropes, and Dupree reverses it into a roll up and gets the pinfall victory at 4:15.

Winner: Rene Dupree, ** (72/69/75)

Rowe: That was an impressive victory by the “French Phenom” Rene Dupree.

-Backstage, Chris Jericho is walking around looking for someone. Finally, he catches Sonny Siaki, who is putting his boots on.

Jericho: Hey, Sonny, how’s it going?

Siaki: I’m doing great, Chris. Tonight, I’m going to embarrass The Rock and send him running back to his Hollywood buddies.

Jericho: Undoubtedly you are going to kick his ass, good luck with that.

Siaki: Thanks, man.

Jericho: But there is one other thing (moves in close to Siaki’s face). Last week when The Rock was talking crap about me, I did NOT need you running out there to defend me. I fight my own battles and I don’t need some pipsqueak like you ruining the good name of Chris Jericho. Got that, junior?

Siaki: Yeah, yeah, no sweat, sorry, man.

Jericho: Good. Now do me a favor and kick The Rock’s ass… but stay the hell out of my way. (Jericho leaves, with Siaki looking irritated). (100%).

Commercial break.

Match 3: Christian Cage vs Shawn Daivari (Opening Round Tournament Match)

Christian takes control in the early going, but he is thrown off when he realizes that Edge is watching the match from the stage. Christian clearly is put off by the appearance of his brother, and Daivari takes control for several minutes. Daivari plants Christian on the mat, and pulls out his “magic carpet” to revive his signature top rope move, but Christian bolts up and hits a huge belly to belly suplex on Daivari. Christian covers Daivari for the win at 7:12!

Winner: Christian Cage, *1/2 (70/72/68).

After the match, Edge jumps into the ring and plants Christian with a spear!

Rowe: What the hell? Why did Edge just spear his brother!?

Plague: I don’t know and I don’t care. That was freaking sweet!

Commercial break.

Match 4: Kane vs Shark Boy vs Sonjay Dutt

Shark Boy and Sonjay try to work as a unit, and the first several minutes of this match is basically a handicap match against Kane. The two smaller stars are able to send Kane falling backwards over the top rope. While Kane gains his bearings, Sonjay and Shark Boy battle each other with some dazzling highflying moves. It isn’t to last though, as Kane angrily storms the ring and chokeslams the hell out of both men. Kane covers them both at the same time for the victory at 7:22. Meanwhile there is an obnoxious fan in the front row screaming his lungs out in celebration.

Winner: Kane, **1/4 (70/63/78)

Rowe: Kane continues to be a force to reckon with.

Plague: Stick around folks, our big main event of the evening is up next!

Final (and quick) commercial).

Match 5: The Rock vs Sonny Siaki

The Rock comes out to a huge ovation and catches Sonny Siaki off guard. Rock fires way with some lightning fast punches, and knocks Siaki silly. Siaki goes to ringside to recover and Rock pursues him, but Siaki whips Rock into the ring post. Rock is busted open! Siaki then pummels The Rock with some hard strikes to the open wound on The Rock’s forehead. Siaki goes for the Siakalypse, but The Rock reverses the move. Rock hits the Rock Bottom and pins Sonny Siaki at 9:12!

Winner: The Rock, **1/4 (78/80/75)

After the match, Chris Jericho runs in and attacks The Rock. Jericho puts The Rock into the Walls of Jericho, while Sonny Siaki fends off the referees who run in to try and help him. The Rock passes out from the pain, and Chris Jericho poses over his prey.

Rowe: That was despicable! I am ashamed to have Chris Jericho and Sonny Siaki on the payroll!

Plague: This is the greatest moment in all of wrestling history! The Rock tries to come back to wrestling and has been humbled by two men who are truly passionate about our great sport! Go back to Hollywood, Rock, we don’t want you!

Overall: 78

NWA: New England Wrestling
Monday Night Blizzard
December 11th 2006

The show opens with John Bradshaw Layfield sitting in a studio. He does not look pleased.

JBL: I am the New England Wrestling Champion, and it's about time that I started acting like it. I have been far too lenient and tolerant of these maniacs from CSW who think they are good enough to stroll right into my turf. CSW went out of business for a reason, and it is because of Steve Corino. Yes, that's right, Steve Corino still wears that CSW title belt around his waist as if it means something. Well, at Starrcade, I'm going to kill CSW forever, and in the most gloriously ironic moment in wrestling history, the man who trashed CSW from day one will be the last CSW Champion. Steve Corino, I am sick and tired of you and your friends jumping me and the Cabinet every time we step into the ring. Tonight, your friends will battle my Chief of Staff, Orlando Jordan, and my Secretaries of Defense, the Basham Brothers! I will stay out of it if you do. But tonight, I am calling you out, Steve Corino. At the end of this show I am going out to that ring and I am not going anywhere until you come out and face me like a man. And one more thing, it was my understanding that six CSW wrestlers were supposed to arrive in NEW... but so far I only count five. Where the hell is Alex Shelley? I know he's buddies with Aries and Strong, which leads me to believe that he will pop up at just the most convenient moment possible to mess with me. I want answers, Steve Corino. You will give me my answers or I will make you bleed like the little bitch that I know you are. So says the wrestling...God! (77%)

Best of Seven Series (winner gets a contract)
Matt Sydal vs. Frankie Kazarian
Match One (Sydal: 0, Kazarian: 0)

Both men are eager to impress here. They start off with a hand shake as they were running buddies in the PTL stable. However, as the match progresses Kazarian becomes more and more aggressive with his offense. Kazarian chokes Sydal on the ropes on more than a few occasions, almost getting himself disqualified in the process. Sydal is shocked at the behavior of his former friend, and slaps Kazarian in the face. This sparks a brawl which results in Sydal spilling Kazarian into the ringside area. Sydal hits a corkscrew moonsault off the turnbuckle onto the floor, popping the crowd. Sydal seems to have everything in hand when the fired Chris Hero runs through the audience leaps over the guard rail and hits Sydal with the Hero's Welcome. The referee somehow missed it. Kazarian capitilizes and hits the Wave of the Future in the ring for the victory.
Winner: Frankie Kazarian @ 7:55 (75/63/87)

After the match, Kazarian and Hero begin to beat down Sydal until their former leader, Carlito, runs in to make the save. President Rowe on commentary reminds us that Carlito and Hero are facing each other at No Leaf Clover, with Carlito's spot in NEW up for grabs to the fired Chris Hero.

After a commercial break, Ric Flair makes his return to NEW by satellite feed from North Carolina. Flair has clearly been partying.

Flair: WHOOOOOOO! The Nature Boy is coming back to NEW! I've been having the time of my life in the Mid-Atlantic, I gotta tell you, there is no greater territory in wrestling! Hey Mick Foley, I haven't forgotten about you. It seems to me that while I have been gone you have been losing an awful lot of matches, Foley. You lost that Hell in a Cell against Dreamer, you lost a street fight against Sonny Siaki of all people, you couldn't even win the tag team titles! Foley, I have to hand it to you, I did not think it was possible for you to sink any lower than you were, but WHOOOOOO, you proved me wrong! I left NEW and become the NWA:M-A Champion and I proved to the entire world that I'm still the greatest wrestler alive! I may be 57 years old, but I'm a better athlete than you were at 27. I'm coming back to NEW, Foley, and I want to wrestle you again. And it's not going to be in Hell in a Cell like you wanted, no, I'm not having that bull. I want you, Foley, in a 30 minute iron man match! And I want that match... at No Leaf Clover! WHOOOOOOOOO! (91%)

Evil Angels vs. Test and Ace Steel
This is a rematch from Methodical Madness, where Test and Steel won the first time. This turns out to be a very good television match, as Chris Sabin and Xavier are really hitting it off as a tag team. They do a good job of keeping Test and Steel from building any momentum, until Test floors Sabin with the big boot at the four minute mark. Test and Steel then make frequent tags and destroy Xavier with some power moves, creating some major sympathy for the plucky cruiserweight. Sabin finally counters with a drop toe hold on Test, who falls into Steel, accidently pushing him off the apron. Sabin hits the Cradle Suplex on Test and goes for the cover, but the referee won't count since now Steel is technically the legal man. This is a temporary nuisance, as Xavier is tagged in and he ends up cleaning house. Xavier hits the X-Breaker on Steel for the win to a good ovation from the crowd.
Winners: Evil Angels @ 10:06 (81/74/89)

Backstage, Eric Bischoff heads into the Cabinet's locker area. He warns them that they must defeat the CSW guys in their upcoming match, otherwise they bring shame to the good name of New England Wrestling. (78%)

Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong vs. Orlando Jordan and the Basham Brothers
The match starts off hot with a three on three brawl, but quickly cools off when the Cabinet takes control of the match. The Bashams are very fond of using a reverse chin-lock to isolate Aries from making any tags, and the segment goes on for a bit longer than it probably should have. The crowd is chanting "We want Joe" and they get what they want when Aries finally makes the classic babyface comeback against Doug Basham and tags in the Samoan Submission Machine. Joe proceeds to destroy both Basham Brothers. Orlando Jordan is watching from the apron, too scared to move. This is until Doug Basham lunges at Jordan for a desperate tag, giving Jordan no choice. Jordan is then the victim of some Roderick Strong chops, an Austin Aries drop kick, and finally the muscle buster from Joe. Joe then covers Jordan for the win.
Winners: Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong @ 8:11 (77/77/78)

Backstage, Booker T is interviewed by Dapper Dave Choate. Choate apologizes for the behavior of Kid Kash and Rene Dupree on behalf of NEW. Booker says it's okay as Kid Kash has been suspended for his offensive racial tirades. Booker says that in a way he doesn't hold it against Kash because he is an inbred redneck who doesn't know any better. But Rene Dupree has no excuse, because Booker knows for a fact that Dupree comes from a background that exercises racial tolerance. Booker calls Dupree a "sucka" and sends a warning out to Dupree to change his ways, otherwise the Bookerman is coming after him. (95%)

Back in the ring, the ring is set up for Chris Jericho's High-light Reel! Jericho is already in the ring and introduces his guest, Petey Williams! Rather than attempting to interview Williams, Jericho just asks who the hell he thinks he is. Why should Williams be getting a Boston Harbor Championship match at the same event (No Leaf Clover) as Jericho? Jericho is the man who carried NEW in the shaky early days, Jericho should not have to share billing with a man who just showed up one day wanting a title match. Williams tells Jericho that he is full of crap and that he does not respect anyone who thinks he is bigger than the company he works for. This boils down into a brawl between the two. Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson comes out to the stage to watch the chaos, but doesn't get involved. He is seen laughing at a few points, as Williams tears apart Jericho's set in amidst the confusion. (89%)

Rob Van Dam vs. Edge, Special Guest Enforcer: Hardcore Holly
Eric Bischoff made this match hoping that his two lackeys, RVD and Edge, would be able to settle their differences. They don't and they put on a violent match, as Holly is not counting disqualifications. RVD and Edge both use a chair as a weapon at numerous points. RVD manages to hit the Van Daminator on Edge, but Holly does a slow count. RVD is confused as to why Holly is showing preferential treatment to Edge and gets in his face. Holly angrils snaps and hits the Alabama Slam on RVD. He drapes Edge over RVD and does the fast count, ending the match on a sour note.
Winner: Edge @ 9:01 (91/89/93)

Steve Corino comes out to the ring and takes a microphone. He has the CSW Championship over his shoulder.

Corino: So, JBL, you're calling ME out? I thought I'd beat you to the punch, so I could actually get a few words in before you come out and do that routine that involves never shutting up. Seriously, JBL, when I was in CSW I would watch NEW Saturday Night when I got home, courtesy of TiVo, and I swear every time you opened your stupid mouth I just wanted to shut you up. And now, at Starrcade, I will finally get that opportunity. I am going to shut JBL up once and for all. I am not losing the match, JBL. Do you think for one second that I will allow the company that I loved so much, CSW, get it's good name dragged through the mud by allowing YOU to be the CSW Champion? Over my dead body. And as for Alex Shelley, I have not heard from him in weeks. Aries and Strong haven't communicated with him since the last edition of Cyclone Saturday Night. My guess as to where he might be is as good as yours.

At this point, JBL comes out and gets in the ring. He has a mic and has some words to say.

JBL: Oh, the lies that keep spewing out of your mouth, Corino. You "loved" CSW so much? Then maybe you should join it... in retirement! I see right through you, Corino. I see you as the coward that you really are. When NEW started, you had the chance to win the NEW Championship. You advanced... over me... in a tournament. You could've won it all, but you were scared. You were so scared that you got out of NEW as fast as you could and headed over to CSW. You left the big leagues and went down to the minors, where you thought you'd have it easier. Better yet, you left before I could get my revenge. But now you're back... and I have all the time in the world that I need. So, Corino, you say you are going to shut me up? Well, I can't wait for you to shut me up. I say, give it your best shot.

Corino and JBL then stand nose to nose, glaring at each other. It seems like they are about to brawl, but before anything can happen... time is out and Blizzard must sign off. See you folks next week! (95%)
