I know this is the hiatus time for the NWA territories, but I'm going to do Blizzard anyways. NEW Saturday Night was another rerun this week for those of you keeping score.

Don't forget, Starrcade is coming up fast in January, so each territory needs to announce a match and a tag team to compete in the mini tournament for NWA Tag Team Champions.

NWA Midwest Burnout 12/15

Piper's Retirement ceremony...
Roddy Piper comes out to celebrate his retirement. He thanks the fans for their support. About this time Chris Benoit comes out. Benoit's angry. Last week Chad Collyer said that a match to prove the best wrestler in Midwest would be Collyer-Angle. Benoit has the belt. He's the best. Last week he beat BOTH Angle and Collyer. Which brings Regal out. Regal says that he was on a TEAM with Benoit. THEY beat Angle and Collyer. Regal and Benoit start shoving. Piper breaks them up and says "Don't make me find a coconut!" He announces that on Sunday, January 7th at STARRCADE, Benoit will take on Regal, Angle and Collyer in a Four Way Dance Elimination match. For the NWA Midwest Title. Regal is happy, Benoit's throwing a fit. Piper moons the both of them. (80)

John Walters & Claudio Castagnoli vs. CM Punk & Jimmy Jacobs
Walters and Claduio are teaming up for the first time. Jacobs and Punk take advantage of that. Punk and Jacobs pick up the win. Claudio isn't happy. He's really wanting to get Punk. (64/62/82)

Corny's psyched!
Jim E. is backstage with the Naturals. He's fired up because The Naturals get the chance to prove themselves again. This time, they'll not only prove that they're better than the Brits, but they'll do it on the way to the NWA World Tag Titles. (78)

Homicide vs. Sterling James Keenan
Homicide tries to use Sterling James as an example of what will happen to Striker. He finds out that Sterling James has a bit more fight than he thought. But Homicide still gets the win. (58/57/74)

Enter Sandman
The Sandman rips into Kennedy as a rich asshole who has nothing better to do than pay the "Fat Faggot" Gertner to do introductions because he's too lazy. (72)

Ken Kennedy vs. Balls Mahoney
Gertner introduces both Kennedy AND Mahoney, introducing Mahoney as the "Fat Man's Sandman." Kennedy gets the win after Mahoney nails Gertner with the chair, allowing the low blow. Enter Sandman plays, and Kennedy takes off up the aisle. Sandman takes out his frustration on Gertner. (55/51/73)

Punk Promo
Punk tells Claudio that he's not got it. He won't be able to beat CM Punk. So he might as well go back to the investors and give them a refund. (83)

Collyer vs. Benoit-Non Title
Benoit holds up his belt to emphasize that he's the better wrestler. The two go at it, and Chad Collyer gets the win after Benoit tries to hit him with the belt. (72/76/86)

Batista promo
Batista warns James Mitchell that he's not easily defeated. He's an animal with killer instincts. (I'm not making this up) (84)

Starrcade World Tag Title Tourney: The Naturals vs. The British Invasion
The two teams clash in an AWESOME match, that ends with The Naturals picking up the win and advancing to the NWA World Title Tourney semis at Starrcade (75/79/90)

Please Don't Go!
Jim E Cornette grabs a mic and invites anyone in the locker room who wants to come out and celebrate the retirement of Rowdy Roddy Piper. All the faces pour out. Delirious thinks their is a match going on, so he warms up by running around the ring. Everyone wishes Piper well. Raven and Angle hoist Piper on their shoulders. The crowd chants please don't go.

Overall: 72

We got a 5.92 rating for 'Burnout'!
The attendance level was 7038 people.
We made $281520 from ticket sales.

NWA: New England Wrestling
Monday Night Blizzard
December 18th 2006

President Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary. We have a big show tonight, as Chris Jericho has demanded two things: he wants a match against Petey Williams and he wants it to be the main event of the show.

Best of Seven Series (Winner gets a contract)
Matt Sydal vs. Frankie Kazarian
Match Two (Sydal: 0, Kazarian: 1)

Sydal and Kazarian put on their usual very good match with one another. Sydal controls in the early going, until Kazarian rakes the eyes and hits a springboard drop kick to pick up the advantage for a bit. Sydal makes a comeback around the nine minute mark and positions himself on the top rope. Chris Hero runs in through the crowd again and tries to knock Sydal down, but Carlito was in disguise as a fan in the front row and stopped him (Carlito had his hair matted down and was wearing glasses, a true Clark Kent moment). The distraction still impacts the match, as Kazarian leaps up and superplexes Sydal to the mat. Kazarian goes for the cover and gets the victory at 12:11, giving him a 2-0 advantage.
Winner: Frankie Kazarian (78/69/87)

-It is announced that the Best of Seven series will continue at No Leaf Clover... inside a steel cage!

-Backstage, Mick Foley answers Ric Flair's challenge for a 30 minute iron man match at No Leaf Clover. Foley says it will be an honor to embarass Flair in a pure wrestling contest. Foley adds one more stipulation... if Foley wins the match, then Flair MUST agree to a Hell in a Cell match. He will let Flair take the Christmas break to ponder this over (97%).

NWA Tag Team Championship tournament:
The Dudley Boyz vs. America's Most Wanted

This is the usual good match these two teams have together. It is a bit refreshing in that AMW don't go for their usual heel trickery to win the match, but put on a great performance with frequent tags and clean moves. This catches the Dudleyz off guard, as they do not feel the need to go for the tables this time. AMW put forth a great effort and manage to hit the Death Sentence on Bubba for the victory at 7:55.
Winners: America's Most Wanted (82/76/88)

-Backstage, Ace Steel cuts a goofy promo. He says he is happy to finally have his own nemesis in NEW, as he loves blood feuds. At this point, no one is quite sure who he is addressing, but he clears it up by calling out Chris Sabin. He is wrestling Sabin in the next match and he is going to settle things between them once and for all. The camera then pans to Chris Sabin watching the interview with a look of "What the hell?" on this face (70%)

Ace Steel (with Test) vs. Chris Sabin (with Xavier)
Steel walks into this match as if he's looking to settle a long term score with Sabin. Sabin is quite confused and does not quite know how to react to this. Steel takes control early in the match with some aggressive brawling and power moves. Steel becomes a bit too aggressive for his own good and accidently spears himself into the ring post when Sabin moved out of the way. Sabin tries to slow things down a bit with some mat wrestling, in an attempt to calm down the psychotic Steel. It works for a little bit, and Sabin picks the pace up again with some high flying moves. Sabin goes for the Cradle Suplex, but Steel wakes up and viciously slams his fingers into Sabin's eyes, apparently blinding him! Sabin is helpless and Steel hits a disgusting spinebuster to gain the victory at 9:00!
Winner: Ace Steel (87/75/100)

-After the match, Xavier checks on Sabin, while Steel celebrates. Even Test looks horrified over what Steel has just done.

-President Rowe announces that he wants a solid main event for No Leaf Clover, and does not want to wait until Starrcade to find out who The Rock will be challenging. Thus, he adds Steve Corino to the main event of No Leaf Clover, it will now be a triple threat match for the NEW Championship!

-After a commercial break, the Cabinet comes out to the ring. JBL is still sick of being blindsided by CSW. He wants CSW in a match tonight, all four of them against the Cabinet. JBL also warns them that he wants answers as to where Alex Shelley is. JBL accuses CSW of keeping Shelley on the sidelines on purpose to bring him out to strike when he is most vulnerable. JBL calls the CSW guys a bunch of cowards (77%).

CSW (Steve Corino, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, and Roderick Strong) vs. The Cabinet (JBL, Orlando Jordan, and the Basham Brothers)
This is a fast paced match that probably did not get as much time as it needed to tell a story. It was still quite good, as both teams made frequent tags and the action never died down. Some highlights include Samoa Joe hitting the musclebuster on JBL, but Jordan breaking up the cover attempt, and Austin Aries hitting the 450 splash on Danny Basham. The finish came down to JBL tagging in Orlando Jordan, because JBL didn't want to face Steve Corino, who had been freshly tagged in. Corino destroyed Jordan and hit the Old School Expulsion! Aries, Strong, and Joe prevented the Bashams from breaking up the cover attempt, allowing Corino to pick up a huge win for CSW at 8:55!
Winners: Steve Corino, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Roderick Strong (81/81/82)

-Backstage, the newly unsuspended Kid Kash to spewing some rascist garbage again, claiming that Eric Bischoff promised him that he could never be suspended ever again. This time The Rock walks by as Kash is trash talking and gets into Kash's face. The Rock challenges Kash to a match, but as he is talking he is blindsided by Rene Dupree. Dupree and Kash lay down a double beating on The Rock, until Booker T runs in to break it up! It looks as though we have a tag team main event for the next Blizzard! (95%)

Rob Van Dam vs. Hardcore Holly
Since RVD is now on Bischoff's bad side, he has to step into the ring with Bischoff's body guard, Holly. Holly is pretty much a jobber for the stars, but RVD sells for him for several minutes, making Holly look like a threat. It is mostly a guise, as RVD makes the comeback, hitting all of his trademarks spots, which pops the crowd. RVD is thwarted by a blind shot from Edge, who runs in behind the referee's back. This allows Holly to hit the Alabama Slam and gain the upset victory at 5:19!
Winner: Hardcore Holly (79/76/83)

Chris Jericho vs. Petey Williams
The Boston Harbor Champion, James Gibson, comes out to do commentary for this match. Gibson states that he respects both men, but he greatly dislikes them too. Gibson promises to show why he will always be remembered as the greatest Boston Harbor champ at No Leaf Clover by beating NEW's biggest star in Jericho and NEW's biggest newcomer in Williams. The match itself is quite good, though the crowd doesn't get into it as much as they should, due to both men being heels. There is a section of fans cheering for the Canadian Destroyer, so Williams does have a cult following. The match goes along smoothly until Jericho becomes frustrated when Williams keeps escaping the Walls of Jericho. Jericho then takes a chair and cracks it over Williams' skull, earning himself the disqualification at 10:01. Jericho then throws the chair at Gibson, prompting Gibson to charge the ring and tackle Jericho. A three way brawl erupts with no one gaining the upper hand.
Winner by DQ: Petey Williams (76/66/86)

The show ends with referees seperating the three men from one another.

President Rowe and Professor Plague wish everyone watching Happy Holidays and that Blizzard will return with new shows in 2007!
