Burnout 12-22-06

Joey Styles Welcomes us to a special Holiday edition of Burnout. Since it's the holidays, NWA Midwest has decided to give its fans a gift. Which means that this weeks burnout is a "Viewer's Choice" episode. The NWA Midwest office has sorted through the fan mail and will give us some never before seen match ups, as well as some words of holiday cheer... or jeer.

BRUDE4EVAH! wants to see her favorite, Bobby Roode, in action, so we start with Bobby Roode vs. Jack Evans from a house show a few weeks ago. Roode wins, of course.

Ken Kennedy is in a taped vignette verbally assaulting the Sandman. He claims that he's rich because he actually knows how to enjoy things, whereas the Sandman just overindulges. Because he's a slob.

xROCKSTARx wants to see more of Sterling James Keenan and CM Punk. So we get to see the two wrestle a match from several months ago. Punk gets the win.

Claudio Castagnoli wishes everyone a Merry Christmas. He knows he'll have one, because it's the best time of the year for sales, which means his stock is going up. Not just in business, though, as he's going to take CM Punk down.

Animal_luvah wants to see Batista in action. Animal_luvah gets to see Batista vs. Ken Kennedy from July. Batisa gets the win.

The British Invasion has some holiday cheer for the Naturals. They may have won last week, but they're sure as hell NOT going to get the NWA Midwestern Tag Titles after losing the World Tag Tournament.

WutaHOTTY wants to see the Naturals in action. She gets The Naturals vs. The Briscoes from Six weeks ago. The Naturals win. Styles wishes Jay Briscoe well as Briscoe has an ankle injury.

Kurt Angle wishes America a Happy Holiday Season. He says he'll come out victorious at Starrcade on January 7th.

N.W.A.Mark wants to see Interstate Champion Onyx in action. Well, Mark, the NWA's Midwest Territory gives you Onyx vs. Delirious. Onyx wins.

James Mitchell tells Batista that the Monster will destroy the Animal January 7th.

iwannabekanesdeadcorpse wants to see more Benoit vs. Abyss from earlier in the year. So we get Abyss vs. Benoit from a house show. Benoit picks up the win.

The rest of the year's NEW Saturday Night shows are reruns.

Blizzard is a Monday show, so the 12/25 edition was the first half of River Rumble from June. The 1/1 edition of Blizzard will be the second half.

NEW has more or less admitted that No Leaf Clover is not going to be a very significant event, with only a handful of matches announced for it. The selling point of the show will be the supposed high quality of the matches themselves. NEW will be pushing much harder for February's Subzero event, building up Wrestlemania 23 in March.

Burnout
12-29-06

It's another clip show, just like last week. Except this week, we get New Year's Resolutions. Styles welcomes us and we get to the action:

newfnshowrules wants to see Jerry Lynn, so we get Jerry Lynn vs. Sabu from one of the first Midwest house shows. Sabu squeaks out a win

We see Chris Benoit holding the NWA Midwest title. His New Year's Resolution is to hold on to the NWA Midwest Title

dagangsta29890 wants to see Blackout in action. So he gets to watch Blackout job to the Naturals

Matt Striker thanks the fans for their support in the past year. If it wasn't for them, he wouldn't even be were he's at. That being said, his resolution is to beat Homicide.

Steelchair2face want's to see the Chair Swinging Freaks in action. He gets a squash when the Freaks face Delirious and Eric Young

The Sandman's resolution is 1. Drink More Beer 2. Kick more ass 3. Kill Ken Kennedy

OldSchoolFan wants to see a Terry Funk match. So we pulled Terry Funk vs. CM Punk out of our tape library. A Cocky Punk got the win

Batista's resolution is to regain the NWA Midwest Title

darksideluvah wants to see Abyss kill someone. So Jack Evans takes the fall

Raven's resolution is to find out who's paying his old enemies to attack him, and to get revenge.

As a gift to the NWA Midwest fans, the main event will be Abyss vs. Sabu vs. Batista vs. Benoit from Hotter Than Hell. Of course, Benoit wins and captures the NWA Midwest title.
