Joey Styles informs us that the inmates are now running the Asylum as there is no official commissioner in Midwest after Roddy Piper's retirement.

Onyx vs. Delirious -
It's a squash, and Onyx obliterates Delirious afterwards. Really puts the emphasis on the inmates running the Asylum

Jim E. Cornette is happy that the Naturals will be teaming with Angle and Collyer. They'll get to prove that they're, as a tag team, the best team in Midwest.

The Lords of the Ring vs. Chair Swinging Freaks-
The LOTR pick up the win with solid tag team action

Jim Mitchell is backstage with Abyss, he tells Batista that he better be ready, because the monster will destroy the Animal (Funny thing, during the promo, Delirious was being carried to the back with some medics, and Abyss looked as if he wanted to follow him)

Angle, Collyer & The Naturals vs. The Brits, Regal & Benoit-
The Naturals, Collyer & Angle do well in the match, but they were playing fair, which allowed The Brits to cheat. The ref called the match. As the ref went to call it for the faces, Benoit turned him around and told him otherwise. So technically, the faces win, but the heels got it announced. Angle got the best of Benoit, though, as he slapped on the Ankle Lock after Benoit warned the ref. Regal slaps on the Regal Strech as Angle has the Ankle Lock. Collyer grabs the belt and walks out. Looks like Collyer will be carrying the belt into Starrcade.

Joey Styles informs us that someone from NWA Midwest has joined NEW's James Gibson in challenging El Hijo Del Santo for the NWA Title. Styles doesn't know who, though, as he just got word from his director, who just got the approval fax from the NWA Board of Directors.

Homicide tells Matt Striker that his resolution will be like so many others, ignored and forgotten

Raven vs. B-Boy-
Saturn costs Raven the match. Raven wasn't happy at all

Raven grabs a mic and challenges Saturn to a match at Motor City Massacre. Saturn accepts

Batista is seen warming up, a backstage hand walks in and shows him something. Batista nods and signs it.

Claudio Castagnoli cuts a promo on CM Punk, telling him that it may be a new year, but the fiscal year isn't over yet, and all debts must be paid in full. Very reminiscent of Irwin R. Schyster, without the sleaze.

Batista vs. Abyss w/Jim Mitchell-
Both men enter the ring. They are each announced and then the ref asks Mitchell to step out of the ring. It's at this point that a cage begins to lower. That's right, the paper Batista signed was his calling for match to be a CAGE MATCH. The crowd goes wild, as does Mitchell. He's irate. But there's no one to appeal to. So Batista and Abyss go at it like wild men. The match is "Main Event" quality. Batista and Abyss tear each other to pieces. In the end, Abyss pulls out the victory with the Shock Treatment

NWA: New England Wrestling
Monday Night Blizzard!
January 1, 2007

-President Rowe and Professor Plague are on commentary. They announce that tonight's main event is NEW Champion JBL vs. CSW's Roderick Strong.

Chris Hero and Frankie Kazarian vs. Matt Sydal and Carlito
Hero is wrestling Carlito at No Leaf Clover on 1/12 for Carlito's spot on the NEW roster, while Kazarian will be wrestling Sydal in a steel cage in their ongoing "best of seven" series. This match is awesome, with some high flying spots and virtually no botches by Carlito. The action gets a bit too intense for the referee to handle and he finally disqualifies Carlito for using a steel chair on Hero at 6:59. They brawl for a bit before Carlito and Sydal finally clear Kazarian and Hero from the ring.
Winners by DQ: Chris Hero and Frankie Kazarian (81/73/90)

-Backstage, CSW World Champion Steve Corino cuts a somber promo about his match against JBL at Starrcade. Corino talks about how proud he was to have been a part of CSW, and how he feels that the CSW legacy can continue on with his career. Corino vows to defeat JBL and become the NEW champion, and how he must because if JBL is allowed to hold the CSW title he will be taking a dump on how great CSW was. (95%)

America's Most Wanted vs. Christian York and Sonjay Dutt
This match is meant to showcase AMW as they will be heading to Starrcade on Sunday to compete in the mini-tournament to become NWA Tag Team Champions! This is another great tag team match, as York and Dutt provide some tough competition for AMW. AMW are no longer full blown heels and wrestle a fair match, finally putting York away with the Death Sentence at 8:00.
Winners: America's Most Wanted (80/70/90)

-Backstage, Ace Steel cuts another insane promo about how proud he is that he blinded Chris Sabin. He says that Sabin had it coming and it serves him right that he'll never be able to compete again. Steel is then jumped by Sabin's tag team partner, Xavier, and they brawl until being pulled apart by agents. Xavier vs. Steel will take place officially after the break. (70%)

Xavier vs. Ace Steel (with Test)
Xavier is furious and aggressive during this bout, trying to gain some revenge for his fallen partner, Chris Sabin. Xavier dominates in the early going, but Test trips him from ringside, allowing Steel to gain control for a long portion. Steel tries to blind Xavier with his thumbs the same way he did to Sabin, but Xavier escapes and builds a come back. Xavier gets carried away and chokes Steel with his boot in the corner, forcing the referee to pull him off. While doing so, Steel pulls out some brass knuckles and clocks Xavier with them. The ref didn't see it and Steel picks up the win at 15:11.
Winner: Ace Steel (85/70/100)

-Backstage, NEW World Champion JBL cuts an arrogant promo towards Steve Corino. JBL talks about how proud he is to be an "NEW original" and scoffs at the possibility of Corino holding the NEW title. JBL makes fun of Corino for leaving NEW to join CSW, which folded. JBL threatens to not only beat Corino at Starrcade, but to force him into an early retirement. JBL also once again demands to know the whereabouts of Alex Shelly, who has not been heard from in months, and has not debuted in NEW despite being signed at the same time the rest of Corino's crew was. (88%)

Ric Flair, Sonny Siaki, and Tommy Dreamer vs. Mick Foley, Rhino, and D'Lo Brown
This match was nothing special, but a means to get some talent on the show. Flair and Foley are heading into a 30 minute Iron Man match at No Leaf Clover. This match was pretty meh, but had some highlights, which included Foley sticking Mr. Socko down Siaki's throat and Rhino goring Dreamer off the apron. Flair ended up surprising Foley with a roll-up to gain the victory at 5:55.
Winners: Ric Flair, Sonny Siaki, and Tommy Dreamer (85/89/77)

-Backstage, Chris Jericho busts into the locker room of Boston Harbor Champion James Gibson. Jericho demands to know who the hell Gibson thinks he is, challenging El Hijo Del Santo for the NWA World title at Starrcade. Gibson tells Jericho to "go to hell" and they end up brawling again. The brawl turns messy as they fight over to the garage doors. Jericho slams Gibson to the concrete floor and then drops the metal door right onto his gut! Gibson sells the attack as if he just had his ribs broken! (88%)

-Booker T comes out to the ring for his match with The Rock against Kid Kash and Rene Dupree. However, Dupree and Kash attack Booker on his way to the ring and double whip him into the ring post. The Rock comes out to make the save, but Dupree and Kash escape through the audience. The Rock vows revenge. (84%)

Non-title match:
NEW World Champion John Bradshaw Layfield (with the Cabinet) vs. Roderick Strong (with Steve Corino, Austin Aries, and Samoa Joe)

JBL and Strong put on a pretty good match, highlighted with a lengthy exchange of chops. JBL's chest is completely red and bleeding after suffering an especially nasty chop. Strong follows it up by delivering a special backbreaker on JBL and getting a near two fall on the champion. As usual, the Cabinet and CSW start fighting at ringside, distracting the competitors in the ring. The confusion leads to Orlando Jordan hitting a blind chair shot on Strong, who stumbles into the clothesline from hell and the victory from JBL at 10:14.
Winner: John Bradshaw Layfield (82/84/80)

After the match, the brawl continues, except the Cabinet take control this time. The Bashams hit double chair shots on Samoa Joe, putting the big man down. Austin Aries goes for a springboard on Jordan, who catches Aries and drops him with a spinebuster. Strong is still down, and cannot help Corino when JBL hits him with the clothesline from hell for good measure. The CSW guys are all down, with the Cabinet standing over them in victory! JBL then adds insult to injury by holding up Corino's CSW Championship and posing with it! This unholy sight ends the program.
