I love this move. Homicide is awesome, but he doesn't work as a top guy. Mroishima is a fucking beast. It doesn't matter if he isn't "firmly established" because if you were in New York, you know he's accepted as legit. I don't even mind he's taking the title with him to Japan. In fact, taking the title away for a few shows isn't such a bad thing. I'm not a fan of title matches on every single show. It works with a guy like Bryan Danielson, but not every champion should be like that. Perfect example being that no one had any interest in seeing Jimmy Rave vs Homicide, even in NYC. |

I think Homicide was built fine for the top of the card, but not in the way that they did it. Homicide should have had the title a LONG time ago to no avail. |

Honestly, I wasn't a fan of Homicide winning the belt in the first place. And I'm a huge fan of the guy. I was liking the route they were taking, ala Dreamer in ECW. Company guy who just can never win the big title. |

I actually think they've done the Homicide storyline arc perfectly. He HAD to get the title the way they were building last year, but if he had a Samoa Joe or Bryan Danielson type reign he would have lost that underdog scrapiness that makes him lovable as a face. He now has a taste of the top, and wants to get back there desparately. They can also use this to make him a little more crazy again, as he worked so hard and finally got what he wanted only to have it take from him so quickly by some fat Japanese fuck. It irks him even more because his two biggest adversaries (Joe and Danielson) had the belt for eons. My opinion, of course, but I like the way it's worked out. |
