Their first PPV just hit the tv. If you're curious the lineup for that show is:

BxB Hulk vs. YAMATO
Hallowicked, Amasis, Gran Akuma and Icarus vs. the Colony, Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw
Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid
the Young Bucks vs. CIMA and Susuma Yokosuka
Shingo vs. Naruki Doi

I think they're running at $19.99 and it's gotten pretty good reviews so far.

I went to the Chicago show, and I gotta say Davey/Shingo was absolutely incredible. And Davey actually hit his Shooting Star Press. I have never seen him actually hit it before. Doi/Danielson was also great, and would have been MOTN, but Shingo/Richards one upped it big time. Kendrick/CIMA was good, but don't go out of your way to see it. Dragon/Yoshino was fast pace and one hell of a opener, I think it was better than their first match. Surprised Dragon Kid won, I was expecting a rubber match at the third show. The Main Event Tag match was great, but the shit finish hurt it a lot. Great show and better than the first show. Worth getting it on PPV.

I watched this last night. It was a fantastic show.

BxB Hulk vs. Yamato - ***1/2
Kenn Doane vs. 2 Cold Scorpio - ***
CHIKARA 8 man - ****1/2
Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid - ****1/4
Young Bucks vs. CIMA/Yokosuka - ****1/2
Shingo vs. Doi - ****

That's right, I'm really saying there are four ****+ matches on this show. It's easily the best show from 2009 match for match. I'm hoping to sit down and watch the second pay-per-view this week and it should be another gem.

That collectable DVD for those who buy the gold tickets is a fantastic idea. There's a lot of value in those jacked up ticket prices.

Plague and I went to Bushido: Code of the Warrior last night in Fall River. It was a fantastic show. I'm having a hard time thinking of a better live wrestling event I've been to. We had a long drive and missed the bonus card, but the main show featured:

Chuck Taylor over Arik Cannon, Ricochet, and Johnny Gargano (great opener)
Homicide over Rich Swann (good showing by Swan, he got over with the crowd practically on account of his name, lots of "Swan" jokes).
Masato Yoshino over Austin Aries (great match).
Jimmy Jacobs over Jon Moxley (short, but intense)
Brodie Lee and Akebono over the Osirian Portal (good comedy break)
YAMATO and Akira Tozawa over Genki Horiguchi and CIMA (spectacular)
BxB Hulk over Shingo (MOTY type stuff)

I'd guess there were around 150 fans in attendance. I hope they come back, I had a wonderful time.

Gabe wrote a blog on Heyman Hustle about the show, and the positives and negatives of it. Apparently the "script" is a lot thicker on a PPV than a regular show because of the ideas you're trying to get over. He also considers Chuck Taylor, Johnny Gargano and Rich Swann talent to watch in 2011

I just dropped a ton of money on DGUSA's Black Friday sale. I ordered Bushido (the event we went to in 2010), the latest three EVOLVE shows, and I preordered the second anniversary weekend shows (including the June Revere show I attended). I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

I was tempted to play catch up on ROH's sale, but the shows I'd be most interested in I still have On Demand on GFL, so there's not rush to have a physical copy.

I watched the EVOLVE 11 iPPV tonight. This was my first DGUSA/EVOLVE iPPV since they left GFL and set up their own site. The video quality is so far above the quality of the ROH iPPVs that it's embarassing.

How was the Callihan/Finlay rematch? I'm about to finally get my hands on a copy of their first match from last July. Heard good things.

I didn't think it was quite as good as their first EVOLVE match. I think I gave the original ****1/4 and last night was more like ***3/4. It was pretty methodical and surprisingly one-sided, also I don't think the right person went over.

The full review should be up sometime soon :)

Looking forward to it.

I just ordered a 12-disc set of the best matches of 2011 from goodhelmet on DVDVR, and was excited to see their first match was on it (amongst other awesome stuff). When it arrives I think I'm gonna start a thread and review everything on it.

Evolve 12 on May 11th is shaping up to be a hell of a show. The (extremely) long-awaited Finlay vs. Jon Davis match is finally happening. This has been in the works for a while as they've had backstage encounters where Finlay has verbally torn Davis apart for not living up to his potential. Also, they're introducing the "Evolution's End" concept, which will be used to blow-off grudge matches. Sami Callihan and AR Fox are going to settle their long running score.
