Sucks for San Diego. They had the division lead for pretty much the entire season, only to miss out on the playoffs entirely.

All they had to do was win 1 or 2 games in that big 10 game losing streak they had.

I dont care if The Twins are home
I dont care if they have better hitting in prior years

I dont care if the Yankees had a stronger team last year (especially the starting rotation)

Yankees will sweep the Twins in 3

I think the Twins in four.

I think whoever wins the Tampa Bay-Texas series will be the AL rep in the World Series. Right now, I'm thinking that's Tampa Bay.

I really want to see a Reds-Yankees Series... but I think Philly will win the NL, just based on their rotation. So there's my analysis: a repeat of the 2008 Series.

This sounds kinda' cool: 4 Japanese teams might be playing in Tucson against MLB teams in Spring Training:

Tucson Awaiting Players Union Approval
Quote:

If the players union agrees to the addition of Japanese  teams to spring training, up to four teams could be training in Tucson  in 2011, playing games against their MLB brethren.

Though nothing has been firmed, it's looking good for Nippon Professional Baseball teams to be training at Tucson in 2011. MLB has unofficially given its approval to the efforts by the Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority to work out a deal where multiple Japanese teams train at Tucson Electric Park and Hi Corbett Field and play games against MLB teams. While Pima County officials would prefer to see a slate of games in Tucson, we're told the more likely scenario is for a handful of games in Tucson, with it most likely consisting of visits of split squads from the likes of Arizona, Colorado and the White Sox -- the teams formerly training in Tucson.

If the players union agrees -- and it sounds like it will -- Pima County will go back to the Japanese teams to firm up leases, and MLB will need to officially sign off on the arrangement. Time is a-wastin': spring-training schedules need to be firmed up in the next month, although split-squad games can also be added later to the slate.

As much as I've been a Yankees fan, Francisco Liriano and Carl Pavano tells me the series is getting stretched to 5 games.

The fact that Carl Pavano is starting game 2 for the Twins, well I see him getting hurt between now and then

The Phillies should win the NL pennant pretty easily on paper

The Yankees will have a tougher time than last year, but I still think they will win it all.........The Twins do not scare me in the least. Rays and Rangers are pretty good, so we'll see

This makes zero sense. Their best pitcher, who has shown no signs of health issues since leaving New York, is magically going to be hurt. Why?

I didn't mean it literally, but Pavano can't take the heat

Couldn't handle NY, was always hurt

Now with the small market Twins, he becomes a decent pitcher again

He's a piece of crap that deserves to be humbled by the Iron Sheik

Cliff Lee's at it again. He was absolutely EVIL in last year's playoffs, when he attached the Phillies to his nuts and drug them to the World Series. Then the Phils decided that they'd rather have Roy Halladay.

After today, he's now 5-0 in his 5 postseason starts (including 2-0 in the World Series)

I'm not a Rangers fan, but it wouldn't be so bad if Lee took them to the Series and got to stick it to the Phils (regardless of if the Phillies make the Series).

Cliff Lee really fucked us good, today...

As much as the home plate umpire, calling a phantom foul tip on Carlos Pena with the bases loaded on a 2-1 count, with only 1 out. Pena then went 3-2 and struck out, followed by a Rocco strikeout. Lee was smooth sailing from there, as I expected.

Roy Halladay throws a no-hitter, and I missed the last two innings because I just HAD to go out... against my will.

Now let's make one thing clear, RIGHT NOW!

... Half of New York hates them, too. I call them Sewer Dwellers, or Mets fans for the common fan. :D

FB? Why don't you like us goshdarnit?!! We like YOU!

dWs on Facebook

Oh, and don't trash Mets fans (too hard).... Peter Parker's one.

At the Von Erich Complex, we're psuedo-Yankees fans. All two of us. As long as Boone Logan's on the team or the Rockies or Pirates aren't in the playoffs. We have stipulations and standards, man!

I want the Yankees to win in 5 games, 7 games, then take the Series to 7. As long as Logan has a chance to pitch (which is every game), I can get the Main Chickie to sit down and watch with me.
