Rocco Baldelli is hurt, so he's out and Willy Aybar is added to the Rays roster. Carlos Pena gets benched in favor of Zobrist at first and Desmond Jennings playing right field. |

Twins in 4 is already wrong Yankees are a much more talented team and on top of that they own the Twins in the playoffs...........Texas (or Tampa Bay if they come back) will be a tougher test |

I agree. That's how it is when you have 2 teams in the same city. Though NYC is the biggest market so there are plenty fans of both teams |

Is it going to be the same ump crew at Yankee stadium? If so, I really don't have any desire to watch the game. Two nights in a row of that bullshit is enough. Oh, and before the "Whiny Twins fan" bullshit starts, don't get me wrong, the Twins have SUCKED these past two games. Mauer and Thome can't hit a fucking thing and honestly, Liriano pitched how he wound up the last couple of games of the regular season: shitty. I was actually surprised he didn't get himself worked up and take hizzelf out cuz he had a tummy ache. Pavano did just okay, and Mijares has no reason to be on our mound, period. Gurrier has actually come around in the last month, whereas the middle of this past summer, I groaned whenever they brought him out. I'm still teetering on Crain. Honestly, for as much as everyone (ie: sports casters, friends, stranges, myself, etc.......) talks up our pitching coach staff and our AAA coaches, yes, we have glimmers of hope somtimes, but with the exception of Johan Santana in his prime, we really DON'T have that ace in the hole. Gawd, it's frustrating. Even Matt Caps is shaky. Rausch is pretty dependable, tho. Aaaaaaaaaaand, I'm spent. regarding my umps traveling question, a co-worker told me they don't go with to NY. Anyone know the answer? |

Matt Crapps has always been overrated. Even when he was with the Pirates-- the shittiest team in the known universe (and part unknowns)-- I was surprised that a guy with his stuff was considered "the closer". I figured it was just because he was in Pittsburgh that such a turd could flourish. So I was a little shocked when he had the same role in Washington...then really shocked when a decent team like the Twins got him. I've always liked Rauch, though. Even when he was tag teaming with King Kong Bundy back in '86, or when he won the Royal Rumble in '89. |

Ehhh...bad joke. Back when he was with Washington, had a mullet n' beard and checking it at 6' 11", Rauch resembled the offspring of Big John Studd. |

*snif*...makes me wish they had all this BATS crap back in 1992, when ump Randy Marsh stopped calling strikes on Doug Drabek's pitches in the NLCS game 7. Everyone was so enamored with the Braves and Francisco Cabrera that the shitty strikezone was (mostly) ignored. |

The Rays play with some fire, fighting off elimination for at least one day. Crawford made some nice defensive plays as well as hitting a solo home run to extend the lead late in the game, and Carlos Pena was definitely the hero with some clutch hitting. Props to Garza for limiting Texas to just the two runs, allowing us a chance to come back. |

I'm incredibly disappointed in how poorly the Twins have been playing since the 4th inning of Game 1. I guess it's Yanks/Phillies again. |

Just as I said Yankees in 3 Any team with Carl Pavano as a #2 starter is not playoff caliber IMO Yankees over Rangers or Rays in 6 |

They are the two most talented teams in baseball as well as two of the deepest and are playoff tested. So going into the playoffs I would have thought as much The Yankees will beat the Phils again, but it will be tougher than last year. |

The Twins are definitely a playoff caliber team and have been for the last decade, but they just seem to have a hard time getting over their hump, no matter who's in the rotation, be it Johan Santana in the past or Carl Pavano now. |

Carl Pavano is the perfect example of a good pitcher when pitching for small market teams that when he gets to the playoffs or pitches for a big market team like the Yankees, he can't hack it Kenny Rogers is another example (though Rogers was better than Pavano) |
