The Twins are definitely a playoff caliber team and have been for the last decade, but they just seem to have a hard time getting over their hump, no matter who's in the rotation, be it Johan Santana in the past or Carl Pavano now.

The Twins are built to win over the course of 162 games like the Braves were during their big run. So that theory tends to come up short in 5 and 7 game situations.

I'm a little pumped for tonight's Rays-Rangers Game 5 with Price vs. Lee. Even cooking up the ol' Frozen Pizza! I'm not too familiar with either team, so it'll be fun to sit back and watch what'll probably be a franchise highlight for one of 'em.

The only way Tampa Bay can win tonight is to squeak a few runs by and keep the Rangers to, at most, 2. Hopefully Price got opening night jitters out of the way and follows Garza and Davis in throwing some quality innings to keep us in the game.

Yankees over Rangers in 6

I am going to Game 3 at the Stadium, first playoff game I have been to since 96 (that was also against the Rangers in the ALDS) Bought the tickets right after they swept the Twins so didn't know which team they would playing

Going with the wife, though she is not a big sports fan

After watching both series' closely, I can easily see this going to a Game 7, and refuse to make a prediction, because it's too close to call. Obvously, I'm pulling for New York, but the way Texas played in the series against Tampa... yipes.

Edit: For the record, I hold no grudge against Texas as my reason for pulling for the Yanks. Texas played a lot harder, especially last night with exceptional base running and timely hitting, and their starting pitchers, outside of Game 4, were magnificent.

I'm pulling for Texas. If only because of the ginger ale celebration

Please cheer for Boone Logan!

There's an uber-microscopic chance that I could get the Main Chickie to work out a mooch and we could zip down to Texas for a potential 6th or 7th game (Texas has home-field advantage, right?)

I've read some blogs that said the ginger ale celebration was a "pussification" of baseball. I think it's actually kind cool that they modified things to include one of their best players (Hamilton). Especially since Hamliton left the clubhouse the last time they did it (clinching the AL West).

I loved it, once I found out about it (I turned off the T.V. after the final out last night and watched It's Always Sunny for the rest of the evening). Shows a lot of respect and unity among teammates.

Plus-- do guys do much actual champagne or beer drinking when they have those celebrations? Usually they just spray the shit everywhere and have fun doing THAT and not necessarily drinking the stuff.

I'm sure it trickles down their faces and into their mouths occasionally. Or if you're Jonny Gomes, you just chug the damn bottle.

What a fucking comeback tonight by the Yankees

Just proves that a poor bullpen will be the death of a team in the playoffs

Ron Washington must still be doing coke to bring in that 65 year old fossil Darren Oliver as his main set up guy. Would have been better off leaving CJ Wilson in the game

It was a joke watching that 8th inning. What was it, five pitching changes, two of them after ONE pitch each? Really, I know you have situational guys, but that was just fucking retarded.

I was a little surprised that Oliver was still around. Let alone playing in the NLCS! I didn't know he was down in Texas. I was actually thinking of him the other day as a potential "(professional) Baseballer of Lesser Note".

I know you meant ALCS for Oliver not NLCS

I knew he was back with Texas just had no clue he was one of their two set up relievers.
