Just got to thinking about the Cubs and their GM opening... if they go for either Epstein (Red Sox) or Friedman (Rays), then I think the best move for them is go for the latter. No offense to Epstein, but all you really do is spend money, and the Cubs have been doing that unsuccessfully for years. Friedman has helped develope a poor team into playoff contenders every year, with good scouting, low-risk contracts to players looking for a chance, and a lot of luck, and the latter can be said about anyone. I don't want the Rays to lose their GM, but if the Cubs want to make the right move, they will go for the one that has built a contender with the most minimal of finances.

Considering it's the Cubs-- they'll go for Epstein.

Did I read it right that Boone Logan has faced five batters in the ALDS and K'd each one?!

John Cena support(ed) the Rays... I'm sure Red Sox Nation appreciates that.

Well, they apparently had Ric Flair on their side:

Dustin Pedroia and Ric Flair Exchange Woo's

Ric Flair would do anything for 5 bucks at this point.

St. Louis tied it up 2-2 tonight. This would be a colossal failure for the Phillies if they were to lose this series.

I would love the Phillies to lose to the Cards

When the Yankees reach the WS, I think the team that would give them the most trouble by far is the Philllies because of the starting pitching. Yankees would still win, but it would be tougher

That being said, I thought the Phillies would sweep the Cards and I figure they will win Game 5

The AL East was easily the best division in baseball in 2011, and none of the teams representing that division are in the ALCS. I'm a little in shock the Yankees lost, but at the same time, not so much. I know, that doesn't make much sense.

White Sox go with Robin Ventura as their new manager.

Obvious joke: when do Ventura's Sox play Nolan Ryan's Rangers?!

It's hard to win a series when 6 of your 9 regulars hit .250 or under

A-Rod really sucked in this series on offense

Two years in a row the playoff game I go to, the Yankees lose
First and last time I ever go to a series ending game

This game 5 between Arizona and Milwaukee has been some outstanding baseball, but it's the 5 o'clock game, so not many people care.

Game 5 for PHI/STL is even better... if Philly goes down, I will laugh from the bottom of my soul at all the experts who said Boston/Philly World Series was a no brainer, and even though I'm a Yankees fan, I hate Philly in honor of all New York fans. :)

Then laugh your soul shall!

I'm still going with Brewers/Tigers in the Series.

Tigers over Rangers in 6

Brewers over Cards in 6

I'm going with Cardinals in 6 and Rangers in 7. I don't see either series being short. I know picking the Cardinals is a bit hypocritical after I picked them to be swept by Philadelphia, but sue me. :P

Terry Francona is filling in for Tim McCarver, and, while it's better than the diarrhea nonsense normally spewed, I would suggest Francona to not quit his day job.

... Oh wait.

Baseball season is over as far as I am concerned

While the Yankees are my favorite team of any sport, baseball is only my 3rd favorite sport after football and basketball, so no desire to watch the rest of the playoffs
