World Class had "Little John", aka "Silo Sam"-- an 8 foot tall guy wearing overalls who seconded the Fantastics in their feud against the Midnight Express and Jim Cornette in 1985. World Class was the only time I saw him (and I don't think he ever actually wrestled for them), but he apparently worked other feds with variations of the same farmer/hick character.

He was also in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure as Andy, the flannel wearing jealous boyfriend of Simone.

I'll throw another into the hillbilly discussion:Rocky Mt. Thunder. He wrestled in the AWA during their final few years.

My friend wrestled on Kentucky indies until a few years ago and the stereotype hillbilly gimmick is still popular there.

Two stereotype gimmicks that will stand the test of time: Hillbillies and Evil Foreigners.

Could we consider Jay and Mark Briscoe to be hillbillies?

Dammit. I was hoping to get through our Little Known Hillbillies and Hicks of Wrestling without having to mention ol' RMT.

Since it always comes up when he's mentioned: the Rocky Mountain Thunder in 1988 AWA was not former NFL lineman Greg Boyd. Boyd did wrestle in the AWA, earlier, and may have used the ""Rocky Mountain Thunder" nickname, but they are two different guys.

RMT (the 1988 guy) actually looked like he could've been in the Wyatt Family.

Boom Boom Bundy (later King Kong)/ Chris Canyon wore jeans and a rope belt, so he had a very minor "country bumpkin" look.

I was trying to decide if they are rednecks or hillbillies. Delaware is kind of a weird between spot that makes it difficult. If they were just straight up Virginia, I would be more willing to say hillbillies.

He did have that country/backwoods look though.
