I think that's when he started drinking too excess

That has been my thought. He started drinking to get through it which is understandable and it's slowly gotten worse with time and maybe stress triggers worse bouts of it.

I'm not blaming Karen, but she seems to be a big drinker as well

Doesn't help matters

I've seen that happen before with people I know. They get with a big drinker who can handle it and then they get fucked because they can't.

I'm sure everyone can agree with this... WWE historically has been outstanding at producing hype/music videos. Almost always a perfect blend of music with the content in the video.

I'm going through a compilation of matches from Velocity... in 2006.

Yes, I forgot Velocity (and Heat) lived on as a web series (and on International TV) once WWE returned to the USA Network in October 2005.

No, I don't think I saw more than one "Gymini" match (the Shane twins managed by Simon Dean), but they stuck around for at least 3-4 months. I don't think I've ever seen a match with "The Dicks" (is this the Smackdown version of the Heartthrobs?). Animal turned heel and went by the name "The Road Warrior." THE JUNIORS DIVISION. Scotty 2 Hotty is still on the roster. TATANKA! Kid Kash and Jamie Noble given the name "The Pitbulls".

There's a few notable appearances of future talent, specifically a young Dean Ambrose and Corey Graves as enhancement talent.

I know 2006 was when my interest started slipping, but damn if there was a lot of undercard crap. Couldn't tell you anything going on from the main show, either.

While I can't remember all the details of 2006, I was loosely following the shows until about SummerSlam time. Think I got WWE 24/7, sometime that summer, and pretty much stopped watching all the current stuff.

Are the Highlanders on Velocity and Heat? I remember they debuted and folks thought they'd win the tag titles, soon. I'm guessing injuries or something derailed their momentum and they were quickly forgotten.

Raw.

I've read one was punished for going to a Impact taping and being shown on TV, and lost his WrestleMania payday, too.

My first instinct was "modern day Bushwhackers" and immediately hated them.

This may be a surprise, but I was almost watching nothing but (WW)ECW and 3-month delays of the PPVs on WWE 24/7 at this point.

I remember "Good ol' Shitty JR" calling a match with the Highlanders and saying: "Rory! Where are his buckin' ears? They're under his buckin' hat". Lawler responded with: "uh... they're not pirates, JR".

I remember how dead the crowd was when the Highlanders debuted. I'm like yeah they're screwed.

Pulled out Havoc 94 the other day(Scrooge suggestion) and man I gotta say Honky Tonk Man looked so out of place in WCW. It's no wonder he left before the year ended.

Hogan/Flair in the cage was actually decent considering the two never had the greatest chemistry.

I finally got around to watching the Okada/Omega trilogy. I'm still under the belief that you can't "break the ratings scale" theory of rating matches. Considering all the hype surrounding them, I honestly didn't want to watch them because I feel like I'd be going in with unreasonable expectations.

I do feel all are "perfect" based on a typical scoring system. 5-star matches, definitely. I can say I preferred the 60-minute draw the most, with their match at Wrestle Kingdom second, and the G1 Tournament match third. All three told different stories, borrowing pieces from each other as they progressed. The third, under pressure with a 30-minute limit, opened at a much faster pace, cutting out the typical chain wrestling and slower parts of a marathon match. I think English commentary at times helped, but hurt too, especially the 60 TLD, where the heel announcer kind of made it too sports entertainment (Don Callis?), while Steve Corino, during the first match, was more low-key as Kevin Kelly's partner. The third match I had to watch in Japanese, so I wasn't aware the circumstances that Omega HAD to win, while Okada could've gotten by with a draw.

I cannot say "greatest matches of all time", but each match is definitely worth going out of your way to watch, and I do recommend binge watching them together.

Okada/Suzuki from February of this year is worth seeking out if you enjoyed those matches. Actually all of Okada's title defenses this year are worth watching.

"Umaga, Triple H, John Cena" was a clue on Jeopardy's Tournament of Champions, last night. Category was "Three of a Kind". One guy quickly got the correct answer (question): "who are WWE wrestlers?"

Yes, the 2017 Jeopardy Tournament of Champions had a reference to UMAGA.

Highlanders sucked that's what happened

Fans didn't take to them
They even had PIper come out once with them on either a RAW or smackdown. As if piper being
Scottish like them and giving his supposed seal of approval would get them over

Also one of them (I think Robbie) was in the Impact audience. Which was pointed out on the Impact show

Got them in more hot water. But they were already being depushed at that point .

The dicks were the Tolands in OVW. Think they were kayfabe cousins

Their biggest win on the main roster was over Animal and heidenreich. This was not long before Animal turned heel as you mentioned

They were two average sized guys height wise but were jacked
So-so in the ring

One got heat. He was gay and when he got ribbed for it, he fought back
Idiotic that he got picked on for being gay. Then h defends himself and gets heat
And IIRC the other Roland was mad at the gay one cause he got heat as well

Some things are idiotic. Assuming this was all legit and I am remembering it all correctly
