I forgot to mention that they even did a micro-build for Butch Reed/Koko B.Ware in the battle royal, as Ware eliminated Reed towards the end. Also, Steamboat's old logo with the Japanese characters and "The Dragon" at the bottom may be one of my all-time favorites. I think this is actually a pretty cool t-shirt, too: Posted Image |

I've almost always kept away from wrestling merchandise (sans my Hulkamania bandana) because of how overly goofy/nerdy/bad most shirts were, especially when featuring images of the wrestlers. I must admit though, that shirt is simplisticly badass. |

I had some nWo stuff. And Monday Night Jericho when he was in WCW. 1989 WWF is this weird void for me. I've seen very little of the tv or the events outside of Wrestlemania. It seems like a good year from the outside, it's just hard to get access to it. |

I had an original nWo shirt that I'd break out every now and then. Bought it in August '97 when Nitro was in town. BUT... when the Old Lady moved in a little over two years ago, she took it and a buncha' other shirts to Goodwill when I was at work one day. I called her on it and she denied she ever threw anything away without my knowing... until late last year when she confessed. In the big scheme of things, it didn't matter, as I have much cooler t-shirts now, anyways. Anyways, I've always liked 1989 WWF. Fairly good resurgence after they had kinda' flamed out after WM4. Hogan/Zeus sounds stupid on paper, but they played it out better than expected, since Zeus's actual participation was kept to a minimum. |

There's a LOT of underrated stuff from Saturday Night's Main Event in 89. When I first got the whole run of SNME's that was the one year that stuck out as being way more awesome than it had any right to be. But 86 is the golden year for that show overall. |

I never bought wrestling figures and barely have any DVDs But I had several t-shirts from 1996-2000 as I worked for Anvil Knitwear in their NYC headquarters, but when I went down to the plants in the Carolinas for inventory, they would give me some I remember having the Jericholics shirt, DX. I am sure I had a couple of others, just can't remember which. A friend got me a Test t-shirt a few years later. The design was cool as it looked like something a metal band would wear. |

Finished recapping the 1995 Royal Rumble (felt like watching it for whatever reason), and despite one of the best undercards in the history of the PPV, the Rumble was atrocious and filled with nothing but JTTS and tag teams. Not that I like playing fantasy booker, but they could've easily, EASILY, done double duty with people. Bam Bam could've lost the Tag Title Match, had his thing with LT, then clean house of the ring before being eliminated by Luger or British Bulldog. Sub in him, Tatanka, the Kid, and Holly in place of Well Dunn and the Bushwhackers, since all four were bottom feeding as bottom feeders get. I appreciate the good singles and tag matches, but the Rumble is still the selling point of the show (it IS the ROYAL RUMBLE), and more effort should've been put into having a deeper field than 2 possible winners. |

Finally watched "Triumph and Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling", last night. Awesome that most of the comments are from Skandor Akbar, Kevin Von Erich and Gary Hart. It really doesn't add a lot of details, so you have to have some basic knowledge of World Class's history before you go into it. While they admit how innovative the camera and production values were, I would've liked to see a quick roll call of some of the guys that first established themselves in WCCW, then went on to bigger things. Like King Kong Bundy, Shawn Michaels, Dingo Warrior, even Bam Bam Bigelow, Percy Pringle and the Undertaker ('Taker was more USWA, but still). The gist is all about the Von Erichs, as you'd expect. The second half of the show is mostly Von Erichs and World Class is just the backdrop. I did like that the Dynamic Duo got some coverage, though. |

I've been watching some of the episodes of "Are You Serious?" (the web-show hosted by Josh Mathews and Road Dogg), and was just thinking... is Triple H doing the voice of the puppet? |

Watching random clips, and stumbled across something from the weekend of SummerSlam '93. They're doing an interview with Yokozuna (well, technically with Cornette), then Randy Savage shows up in his goofy american flag style outfit, giving his thumbs up for Lex Luger, then brings out pretty much all the babyfaces to show their support for Luger too... got me thinking, even as a semi-retired, brutally squashed victim of Yokozuna a few months back, I would've much prefered a Savage/Yokozuna program, just for the fact Savage knew how to make someone look like gold while, wether he was going over or not, and Luger... well, I don't dislike him, but it's clips that like that make you rethink how things were. |

I really dislike the 86 product for whatever reason. I've grown to appreciate 85 while watching the Championship Wrestling tv. |

Probably still fresh enough to post in the WWE Folder, but how the fuck did WWE screw up the Nexus angl in the Summer of 2010? I don't think I posted much about WWE at the time, but I was curious about WWE for the first time in a while because of Nexus, then at SummerSlam, Cena goes over. By the end of 2010, Nexus is feh. By WrestleMania, jobbing in 90-seconds. |

I took a vacation from wrestling in 2010 and missed seeing the Nexus angle play out first-hand. I will say that having Team WWE (er, Cena) go over them at Summerslam 2010 was a huge blunder and it's hard to believe they kept it going for as long as they did afterwards. There was so much potential, but they really didn't seem comfortable going all the way with anything they tried. They forced Cena to join the group and that lead to... nothing. They cost Cena his job in WWE, but he kept showing up at every Raw, completely dressed in ring gear and merchandise, so that didn't mean a thing. And I think my hatred of the 90 second Corre match at Wrestlemania 27 is well-documented. They spent so much time building up to that match and cut it down so they could cram in all the commercials and video packages (and Rock smiling in the ring). |

Funny you should mention that. Nexus had me really close to almost watching the WWE product again too. The problem with the Cena angle is they freaked out that the ratings would tank without him on the show. So that's why there was such a cop out with him constantly showing up. |
