Karl Anderson vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

They pulled the trigger on the first upset of the tournament as Anderson caught Tanahashi with a diamond cutter as he came off the top rope. They didn't mesh well in this match. The early stuff with Anderson attacking the leg was pretty good. But it kind of turned into a disjointed mess after that. It felt like Anderson forgot how to do every move in the book as he hit probably 3 or more diamond cutters during this match. The match was good when Tanahashi was in control but those segments were few and far between. Oh well, can't win them all.

Rowe's 2002 reviews have made me hate Taker all over again.

It was easy to forget how much I disliked 'Taker in '02 when I was busy hating on every single thing Triple H did, but damn if 'Taker didn't piss me off until... I dunno, 2007?

Probably whenever he stopped doing the triangle choke which looks like he's trying to force a guy to suck his dick.

What the fuck was the "Booger Red" nickname supposed to be? I could've sworn he had multiple terrible nicknames at the same time, like Big Evil, RedDevil, or Red Evil, Big Devil, or something equally stupid.

It was a rip on his hair I think. They told him to stop saying it shortly there after.

It's just a depressing era. If someone got even slightly over then you're going to get destroyed by HHH and if HHH doesn't get you because he's limited to Raw then the Taker was going to get you on Smackdown.

That Lesnar shit still pisses me off. Hogan and the Rock made him look like an absolute monster but the fucking Undertaker can't do the god damned job in that first match?

And the Heat recaps are reminding me how awful 1998 and 1999 were on the whole wrestling front. I really don't understand how I watched that WWF shit at the time and WCW wasn't much better. Those Heat matches are shorter than some squash matches were and those are matches with name talent.

In one match on an upcoming show (sometime near the end of September) Edge pins TAKA in 20 seconds. It's not a fluke roll up, he hits him with 3 moves and pins him without taking so much as a punch, and TAKA's the L-HW Champ. As I said, Champions jobbing a lot is NOT new.

They did that back in JCP all the time in the 80s with the Junior Champ. You knew that if Denny Brown was wrestling and it wasn't another junior that he was going down.

Remember all that effort they put into the L-HW Championship tournament and how quickly they lost interesting in the belt. I think Taka got the belt in January and they had given up on it by May.

If not then, it was definitely when he turned heel and joined Kaientai. The title as a whole was just a big joke. Christian wins it his 1st match, loses tp GILLBERG, who goes a year without a TV appearance, drops it to Essa Rios and then for a few months the title is relevant again, until lackluster reigns by Crash, Jerry Lynn and X-PAC finally put the WWF version of the belt in the grave.
