WWF never wanted to have a LH division, but figured that since WCW had a very good cruiserweight division that they could make money from it.

Considering Brian Christopher was the long-term heel threat to Michinoku... yeah, nobody really gave a tenth of a shit. Not only is B.C. a average worker, his Memphis style clashes horribly with most audiences, and other than being the son of Jerry Lawler, he had no business getting anywhere near respectable spots in any promotion.

I liked Christopher in Memphis. His run as part of Too Cool was good, which came later on

I thought he was a good worker, but certainly not very good or great.

At the time I thought Chrisopher was going to win the tournament.

Agreed though on his pushes being more because of being Lawler's son.

With all the hype videos promoting Goldust's appearance on Raw tonight, I'm reminded how much I was against Goldust's return in 2002, and by years end, how much I loved the guy. Not only was he an entertaining promo and backstage sketch guy, but he had a new fire in him that was producing good matches on a regular basis. I actually got quite pissed when he got stuck with that turrets angle and quietly was removed from television.

Goldie's second return, after his abysmal run in TNA was awesome, though. He kicked the booze and the pills he'd been hooked on for several months prior, probably explaining his terrible run in TNA, now that I think about it, and kind of bumbled around ECW and the C-shows. But damn, did he have some killer matches on Superstars and ECW TV with guys like Sheamus, William Regal, and even some stiffs like Mike Knoxx and Luke Gallows. Hell, the IWC at the time basically said that Goldust made Sheamus early in his WWE run. I wouldn't go that far, but Goldie definitely had a little extra pep in his step at that stage and put on some great matches with him.

Oddly, I'd say Goldie's best run was in that 2008-'9 period, when he wasn't focused on, or even getting a great push on the real shows. His matches in the 90's were boring and his character in 2002 was so dry, with the exception of his short-lived run with Booker T., that he wasn't a ton of fun back then. Suddenly, when nobody's really watching him, he becomes a workrate magnate. Its just a shame he never became ECW champion. Frankly, he'd have had some decent matches with everybody back then. He'd even give a big slob like Big Daddy V a good carry job. And just imagine him mixing it up with CM Punk, a motivated Kane or Big Show, or even a guy like Matt Hardy or John Morrison. That would've been awesome.

Why can't a WWE PPV Poster actually feature something relevant? It seems like more often than not, it's someone or something completely insignificant. For example, HIAC has R-TRUTH on it. Way to make the poster represent the show. Fuck that Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton Trilogy with special referee SHAWN MICHAELS, lets put R-Truth on to really entice viewers to order. That would be like taking WrestleMania V, and instead of the Mega Powers Exploding, it's a picture of Damian, Jake Roberts' pet snake.

The Wyatts are on the Survivor Series poster. I bet they end up on the preshow, haha.

I'm amazed they're actually involved in some kind of storyline... with the Miz. Them whipping the crap out of him is fine by me, but there's speculation of going back to Kane/Wyatt Family, because it was so fucking awesome the first time. [/.sarcasm]

Sorting through the occasional nuggets of full-matches on WWE's Youtube page, and came across a Survivor Series Match from 2010 featuring Rey Jr., Big Show, Kofi, MVP, and Chris Masters against Del Rio, Cody Rhodes, Swagger, McIntyre, and some guy named Tyler Reks.

Other than being a surprisingly fun match, just some notes...

- All the babyfaces wore blue. SHOCKING the PBP team didn't pick up on this when discussing team unity.

- Chris Masters was a babyface?! Just seems odd because of his 2005-2007 stuff I remember.

- MVP is the most over guy in the building (hometown crowd) and gets to job first. What a surprise.

- Amazing how McIntyre went from future prospect who could hang with the big names to 3MB comedy act who can't even beat Santino Marella or Zack Ryder.

- Who was Tyler Reks?

- I half-expected Del Rio to sneak back in, because all match long, eliminations weren't declared by the ring announcer. Stuff like that is usually a give-away for altering rules or ignoring something so it can happen later without making it incredibly obvious.

Tyler Reks was an ECW roster guy who had a surfer gimmick for a while. He got lost in the shuffle when ECW was discontinued, but had a brief push on Smackdown as a singles "scary dude" type character. His push amounted to him being included in the big multi-man matches at Bragging Rights and Survivor Series, but the creative team quickly lost interest in him. He then became an NXT mainstay and teamed with Curt Hawkins, only appearing on Raw or Smackdown to do jobs. In late 2012, Reks and Hawkins were repackaged as dancers and Reks asked for his release the following week.

I kind of liked Reks. He was a decent worker and had a good look.

Rewatching some WrestleMania's without doing recaps got me thinking... Ted Dibiase is the king of the bullshit finishes, at least when it comes down to the earlier Mania's...

V: Double Count-Out vs. Beefcake
VI: Wins by Count-Out vs. Jake Roberts
VII: Loses by Count-Out vs. Virgil
VIII: Loses by Count-Out vs. Natural Disasters
IX: Wins by DQ vs. Mega Maniacs

And now it's back to the DVD's...

I'm REALLY bored or out of things to watch, because I'm watching a compilation of the entire Brawl for All Tournament. This thing needs audio commentary from Jim Cornette trashing the lack of thought and effort in coming up with the whole thing.

Definitely some interesting stuff there. Still don't know why I wasted my time downloading this and burning it to a DVD. I'm not on any meds, so I can't be accused of being off of them. Might as well watch my Best of Big Bully Busick compilation, next. Remember that one time he harassed Mike McGirk, only to be thwarted by Sid Justice? Or when he popped a little girl's balloon, and the little girl plant turned out to be Bobby Heenan's daughter? Good times. :P

Other than watching Bart Gunn's head knocked around like a bobblehead, only thing memorable of the WM XV BFA is the final televised appearance of Gorilla Monsoon. Even as a 14 year old watching, I couldn't believe how poor he looked, health-wise. Nice to see the Philly crowd, during the Attitude Era, give him a respectable response.
