Follow-up question: Who was a more useless sack of shit? Scott Putski or Mark Young (Strongbow's son who was a break-dancin' fool in 1989-90)?

Probably Putski. Young seemed to at least give-a-shit during 1989.

Bonus: check out the ref.

The break dancing is ridiculous, but tag him up with the Blue Blazer in 1989 and people would've been talking about them like the greatest team that never was. Call 'em the "Young Blazers" or "Am-Can Connection"...or even "Lukewarm Energy". They would've at LEAST been as successful as the Young Stallions, right?

In 1990, Young seemed to stop giving-a-shit and was just a generic jobber.

It's Shane-o-Mac!

I agree, Young had decent energy for the brief time he was featured on TV, but damn did he disappear as quickly as he came up. Years ago (02? 03?) when I first got into tape trading, I goofily thought it was Marcus Bagwell in the montage of Superstars and Challenge, because of the red, white and blue tights.

The Nikolai Volkoff match was weird. He wasn't really doing the Russian gimmick totally and still was doing a bit of the Mongol gimmick. I fucking hate Inoki so that match can fuck off.

The second Backlund/Valentine match is worth seeing if you liked their time limit draw from the same year. Valentine is really great right now. His promos are good as well.

Interesting to see but all of the heels end up with Albano, Blassie or the Wizard. Tag teams for Albano, Main Event singles to Wizard and Blassie gets the foreigners and crazier gimmicks.

Blassie is fucking great here too.

And Lucious Johnny Valiant is a surprisingly competent worker.

I have no desire to ever watch either of their matches, but I guess Strongbow was a slightly less awful worker.

Follow-up question: Who was a more useless sack of shit? Scott Putski or Mark Young (Strongbow's son who was a break-dancin' fool in 1989-90)?

I don't remember Mark Young.

Scott Putski had a great look.

It always strikes me how much better the JCP jobbers were than the WWF ones. Even the worst JCP jobber would pinball really well.

Vince splashed I think coffee in Albano's face before this match started. Odd little exchange there.

Sheik can move and is showing off some real technical skills in this match. Kind of a weird oddball match for the time.

Backlund tried a cross body out of the corner and Sheik just waited and kicked him in the face. Nice.

Gotta love late 70s WWF rules. Sheik grabs a chair and just beats Backlund with it in front of the referee and no DQ.

Ted Dibiase vs. Pat Patterson. This should be interesting.
