Man, its amazing how the big 'E wasted Dirty White Boy as a damn plumber when they brought him in, isn't it? Also, please tell me Dirty White Boy uses Foreigner's "Dirty White Boy" as his entrance music. Because that would be incredible. |

Yeah, watching some old SMW shows myself and it seems like Corny really liked his wrestlers to use real music. I doubt he licensed any Billy Squire or Foreigner, considering Corny couldn't sell out the local YMCA with the crew of guys he had for most of the time. He must've skirted around music royalties, ECW-style by staying too far under the radar for anyone to really notice. |

Iif it's just for TV, promotions for years have done it. I honestly have no clue what SMW released on tape to the market, nor if they edit stuff off. Seems like Carl Stiles has been put to pasture, at least for now. Dutch wants to give his winning knowledge to Barry Horowitz, who is mortified by his record of 0 wins and 43 losses (I thought it was only like 25 or 26!). The pre-match warning to not touch or grope the Heavenly Bodies is hilarious stuff. |

Licensed music of note for regularly used and up to date roster (early June, 1992)... The Heavenly Bodies - Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group Dirty White Boy - Dirty White Boy by Foreigner The Fantastics - Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top Tim Horner - The Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks The Batten Twins - Double Vision by Foreigner Nitro Danny Davis - TNT by AC/DC Robert Gibson - Rock N Roll is King by ELO Jimmy Golden - Hard to Handle by The Black Crowes Buddy Landel - I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred Brian Lee - Everybody Wants You by Billy Squire Bob Holly used Fame by David Bowie, but he's apparently gone, and Terry Gordy used Freebird for his lone in-ring appearance to date. Killer Kyle has music I definitely recognize but don't know the name (Edit: the instrumental "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's), and Dutch Mantel has that "Rawhide" song for his handful of in-ring appearances. Not a bad playlist of music. |

I don't get using "Everybody Wants You" for Brian Lee. Doesn't seem to fit him. He's not a heel, not a vain, pretty character and doesn't come across as all-together too "Hollywood". That song would be perfect for an asshole, condescending heel. Not a big, monster face ass kicker like Brian Lee. |

The song definitely doesn't fit his white bread babyface persona. Maybe he just liked the song and Cornette was all "fuck it, if that's what you want, play the god damn song." Extra vulgarity added because we all know Cornette has a filthy mouth. |

I know he's just supposed to be an undercard guy to get the fans excited and probably won't be used for anything else, but damn is "Dixie Dy-No-Mite" a stupid fucking gimmick... maybe it doesn't help I hate the "stars and bars" of the confederate flag. |

Did you get to the Dixie Dy-No-Mite vs. The Stormtrooper match yet? Corny talked about it a couple times on his show about how he didn't realize he was booking a Confederate sympathizer in the form of Dixie Dy-No-Mite against a literal fucking Nazi who came out with a crappy Swastika painted on his ugly silver face mask. Hilarious shit. Cornette: "I didn't realize I was booking heel vs. heel. And I don't think the audience did either. They liked Dixie." |

Corny claimed he didn't pay attention to the underneath guy's gimmicks, because he was too busy booking the show, ascertaining TV time, booking buildings and managing his own guys at the top of the card, so he just brought in local guys to play whatever their regular gimmicks were and used them for filler. To be fair, Cornette didn't know the Nazi dude was a Nazi. But yeah, the fact he was a Nazi to begin with was kind of fucked up. |

You could get a copy of the TV right off of the master tape through the mail at the time. You could also get the house shows on tape I believe. That's why the footage is in such good shape. My DVDs literally have dead air for where the commercials should go. |

Brian Lee's back-up in his war with Paul Orndorff and the Dirty White Boy... the man with the hands of stone, Ron Garvin. I don't think Summer Blast is uploaded anywhere, but I'm sure there's an episode dedicated to recapping it. We get "raw footage" of a backstage brawl between the Heavenly Bodies and Fantastics. Reasoning for the camera being on hand for a non-TV show? They have a camera rolling for any potential title changes, and were about to shut things down when the commotion started. Armstrong drops a $1,500 fine n everyone and books a Smoky Mountain Street Fight for Summer Blast. Horner is still butt-hurt about Landel, but managed to have a pretty good tag match with Robert Gibson against the Heavenly Bodies. I keep typing Midnight Express and having to correct myself. |
