His lonnnnnngggg promo while on the way to the ring at Survivor Series '90 was inexcusable. The matches and eliminations were running fast due to time constraints, but they were able to carve out 5 minutes for Slaughter with his music playing, non-stop. |

I'm a Slaughter fan but I agree his promos in 90/91 really did go on and on. But I will say I enjoyed his little over 2 month reign as WWF Champion. It's a shame he didn't have a longer run but with the whole theme to WM 7 being patriotic, his fate as champion was sealed. |

Sarge's run as WWF champion wasn't exactly stellar, but I do remember one solid match he had against Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, defending the belt, during Greg's brief babyface run. It was probably one of the last times Valentine felt relevant in the WWF or wrestling in general. Also, not sure why, but I think the WWF could've gotten some mileage out of a Kerry Von Erich/Slaughter feud over the strap. The matches wouldn't have been pretty, but the crowd was always really behind Kerry and they could have easily positioned him as a challenger. Sarge was basically a midcarder as World Champion anyway. You could buy him being legitimately challenged by a Valentine or a Von Erich or a Tito Santana type. Sarge was basically The Miz of his day. A chickenshit heel world champion who feels like he could get beaten by anybody. |

I agree Slaughters run as champ wasn't anything special but me personally I liked his heel run far more than his face run. I was always a Valentine fan but man that face run was dumb as hell. of all people to turn face they pick him. You can tell he hated that role. As far as Kerry goes it's a shame after his IC title run he was pretty much done. He'd have minor feuds here and there but as far as titles or big feuds he was long done. I agree though Infinite Devil Machine a feud over the WWF title especially with sarge as champion could of been interesting. |

Kerry had a mild tiff with Ted DiBiase; over costing him the IC belt; in the end of 1990 into early 1991. It was actually spun out of the DiBiase/Dusty Rhodes feud, when Kerry ran in to defend Dustin on the Brother Love Show. But it was soon forgotten as the big DiBiase/Virgil split happened at the Royal Rumble. After that...Kerry was just kinda' on the roster. They gave him a mild re-push by having him face Ric Flair for the WWF Title in 1992, but he didn't have any feuds or significant programs for his final two years on the roster. |

Oh--and about Slaughter's run as champ: my personal least favorite as it was incredibly insulting to the viewer's intelligence. Make excuses all you want, but you can't ignore the fact that "Superstars" was run on Saturday mornings, featuring GI Joe commercials with Slaughter in front of the US Flag and hollering "Yo Joe". You have to suspend disbelief a little to get into wrestling, but you'd have to be about as sharp as pudding to think Slaughter was a legitimate bad guy. |

Yeah I remember that Flair/Kerry match from a World Tour Coliseum Video. You make great points Erick about Sarge, I can see why his run as champion was your least favorite. Just me personally didn't mind him as champion for those 2 months. Overall though he's far from my favorite list as well but for a short run champion he was fine as the coward heel. |

I've been watching Superstars/Challenge from 91 lately and I wonder if they had a plan for beefcake's mariner/man with no face gimmick. I'm not surprised they just ended it that quick with no explanation, but it would of been interesting to see what they would of done with the gimmick if it stayed past a few weeks. |

At the time, I fully expected that the WM7 Earthquake vs. Greg Valentine match would've had a run-in or appearance by the Masked Bruti. Earthquake had nothing going on, at the time, and Masked Bruti had run into a few of his matches on "Superstars" and "Challenge". So it seemed like their feud would officially start at WM7. Instead, Earthquake started a feud with Jake Roberts shortly after WM7... which didn't last very long and had no conclusion. It soon evolved into the "Andre the Giant vs Natural Disasters" program. Only real capper to that was at SummerSlam 91 when Andre smacked the Disasters with his crutches. I'm guessing the plans for Masked Bruti/Mariner were dropped because Bruti wasn't fully recovered from his injury and cleared to wrestle, yet. When did "The Barber Shop" officially debut? |

I think the Barber Shop debuted shortly after Mania. Early May comes to mind. almost the same time the Funeral Parlor debuted. |

Yeah all that build to Jake/Earthquake and it never concluded. They could of atleast had a ''feature'' match on Prime Time or something to end the feud. |
