The Hart Foundation in 97 were pure gold. I wish they would of had a longer heel run during that time. If I recall Bret did say that was his favorite time in wrestling and I can understand why. Good stuff

Was watching some Prime Time Wrestling episodes from the Summer of 89 and man was that Piper/Rude feud great. It's one of my favorite feuds from that time period of the WWF.

I got to mention the Christmas episode as well since it's one of my favorites of all time. Not for the matches but for Heenan ripping apart Christmas and Piper. One of they many quotes I laughed hard at was '' He has 3 aliases: Kris Kringle, Saint Nick, Santa Klaus sounds like the guy's wanted in three states''

Long Live Bobby Heenan, In my book the greatest Manager of all time. I'm proud to say I'm a Humanoid.

I'll contend that 1989 was Heenan's best year; even better than his AWA glory days with Bockwinkel. His promos were hilarious, his guys won the IC and tag titles, and had some fun angles on PTW and Challenge. Of course, the Bobby Heenan Show was also there...

Me personally was a fan of the Bobby Heenan Show. It had only four shows and I can see why since even though the show was only like 20 minutes long, it did drag at times. But Heenan ripping apart Jamison will never get old.

After the show ended we did get Heenan vs Piper in the studio for a good four months. Entertainment at it's finest there. Heenan saying Piper was wearing a skirt not a kilt and then Piper calling Heenan 'Boobs' classic stuff.

I think they were banking too hard on Jamison to carry the humor, or be the butt of jokes. Almost like they wanted him to be the "breakout character" of the show.

The Bobby Heenan Show was a little like Howard Stern's "Whack Pack" interviews on his "E!" show, but about 6 or 7 years before those became popular. So you could say: "the Heenan Show was ahead of its time"... but that's a big stretch. Hey, it was better than TNT, right?!

Believe it or not I liked the Bobby Heenan Show more than TNT. I just never could get into the format of TNT. I'm surprised it lasted 2 years.

Oh yeah, I enjoyed "The Bobby Heenan Show", in all its awfulness, much more than TNT. The stuff with the porn star is just SO ridiculous and Beavis-ish.

Aside from the last few months with "Mean" Gene as the host, I've found TNT to be VERY hard to get through. Maybe 10% of the entire series is worth viewing. There's some weird trivia stuff in there-- like the fashion model who Vince McMahon plugged pretty hard in early 1986, or MIKE SHARPE as a guest-- but jokes are beaten to death and the humor or angles were often misguided.

Like when "Adorable" Adrian Adonis stood up and announced: "yes, I am gay" to a BIG chorus of boo's.

I could never get through a full TNT episode, I disliked the show that much. I do remember the model that Mcmahon plugged to death like you mentioned.

I recently watched an episode of WWF ''Wrestling Spotlight'' and I gotta ask what they were thinking with doing Sean Mooney's twin brother ''Ian''. They couldn't just have plain ol' Sean Mooney do it, they had to give him a twin brother gimmick? The gimmick lasted for a good 2 years if I remember correctly.

I'd like to talk about some of the most underrated wrestling announcers in history...

Scott Hudson- During WCW's dying days he was very good imo. He sold the angles well and was very good at play-by-play.

Jim Cornette- He was excellent with Jim Ross on NWA Power Hour and WWF Shotgun Saturday Night respectively.

Curt Hennig- Definitely a great heel alongside Mcmahon on Superstars in 92. I also loved the New Generation WWF PPV's he called during 95/6.

Rick Rude- Was very good with Joey Styles for that brief time in the Summer of 97.

Randy Savage- To me he was very good in the booth. WM 9 is considered one of the worst WM's in history (With good reason) but the team of him,Heenan, and Ross got me through the event.

Last but not least...Vince Mcmahon- A lot of people know him for screaming out WHAT A MANEUVER!! OR 1-2 HE GOT HIM!! NO IT WAS ONLY 2. But atleast he showed energy and like Hudson sold the angles perfectly. He
really hit his strive during 96/7 imo. I loved the team of him, Lawler, and Ross during the beginning of the Attitude Era.

Watching Superstars from the fall of 1990 and I gotta say the Bossman/Heenan Family feud was good looking back on it. I liked the slow build of Heenan saying jokes about Bossman's Mom and then week after week he would keep it up more and more.

It's a shame Rude would leave by that time just before the angle really took off. I was really looking forward to Rude vs Bossman in a WWF ring.

Overall though it was a great long feud that should of ended with Bossman winning the IC Title at WM 7 but that's another story.

Reaching the end of 1984 when it came to house shows... did WWF deliberately give Philly the crappiest shows or something? I know we aren't getting great workrate from most of the roster, but it feels like these shows are extra awful and feature more preliminary junk.

Philly always got the short end of the stick when it came to televised house shows. Hot crowds but shitty cards is how I always looked at it. And on top of that Dick Graham was the announcer for the shows. Not even Monsoon could save him in the booth.

Next on the to do list, the Meadowlands show held on 12-10, headlined by yet ANOTHER Hogan vs. Studd match, JYD vs. Paul Orndorff, and the third time I'm sitting through Beefcake vs. Bellomo. The 12-28 MSG card has a bit more potential, I guess.
