The guy didn't seem thrilled with coming to the Yankees either. That was a red flag IMO.

I agree jerking Hughes around is bad. They really screwed up last year by trying to have him start. He was great that one year in the pen and they seem to not want that for him. I think Joba was a fraud looking back honestly.

Joba should have always been in the pen after 07. He looked dominant and figured to be the heir apparent to Rivera, though I would have figured Rivera would have been done by 09. Testament to Rivera's greatness that in his 40s he is still dominant.

Joba definitely benefited from working out of the bullpen, and I don't know, the aura of "the Joba Rules" kind of made him out as a superstar, which was both a good and bad thing. Good because it gave him this persona of near-invincibility, but the bad... Aubrey Huff. Nuff said.

Cardinals announced that Chris Carpenter is hurt and will miss the opener. No way... never saw THAT coming.

I watched both of the Japan Mariners/As games. Wow, those teams have some bad offenses. It kind of amazes me that Seattle still hasn't been able to address their offensive needs. They really need Smoke and Montero to show up if they hope to have any chance.

The As are interesting. The team is a mess but they look like they could make some noise down the road. This Yoenis Cespedes guy playing CF is interesting though. I could see him being a decent player.
