The UFL; who completed their third straight season a few months ago; are looking to expand and they could come to YOUR hometown:

(well, "YOUR" hometown if it's Jackson, MS, Salt Lake City, UT or Chattanooga, TN)

UFL Expansion

On top of that, there's also the feedback form (currently unavailable) for you to fill out and ask for a potential franchise.

Just think: get about 60 grand, an old NFL has-been for "consultant" and one of those fictional teams YOU created in "Madden NFL 2012" can be a reality!

I'm shocked that the UFL is still around, but on the other hand, they have no expectactions, so being around for a 4th season is a success, I guess.

I think they've really gone about creating a league the right way. They started with a very small number of teams and have slowly tested the waters. They also don't stick with a failing franchise. It's usually one and done if it doesn't work out.

They've also been successful at luring in hasbeens and busts from the NFL for some name value.

They just need to stay away from ESPN. Getting on ESPN killed the Arena League.

Can the Jets demote Mark Sanchez to the UFL?

Why not? The UFL continued the careers of JP Losman and Josh McCown.

From my Comfortable Distance, the only real knock I see on Sanchez is his fumbles. I can understand the frustration, though. All I can say is to remember that it took Brett Favre until his fifth year (1995) to really become established.

Of course...also remember that it took Brian Griese five years to play himself off the roster (2002).

Note: both of those guys had a "redshirt year". 1991 for Favre and 1998 for Griese. So you could bump the number down to FOUR years. In that case, the 2012 season is when Sanchez needs to prove himself.

Actually, I think the big frustrations with Sanchez are that he's the master of the pick six and the fact that if he's throwing a ball over 5 yards, he's trying to draw a pass interference call.

Yes the bigger frustration to me as a Jets fan is the pick six, though he does fumble too much also.

Sanchez does deserve one more year. But I think both Ryan and Sanchez will be gone if the Jets don't make the playoffs next year.
