WWE Main Event - April 1st 2014

Taped from Washington, DC

Commentators - Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips

First thing Is that I absolutely love the intro for Main Event and the song suits the show perfectly. Also, Tony Chimbel is ring announcing, which makes me a happy guy.

Sheamus vs The Miz

Both of these men are in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal this Sunday at Wrestlemania XXX and the match starts off with a relative slow pace to it. The first move of the match is a shoulder block from Sheamus and he then hits a nice powerslam but only gets two. He then conects with vicious strikes in the corner and Miz sends Sheamus to the outside. Miz hits a baseball slide and Sheamus hits a followay slam onto the barricade, which looked painful.  We are back from the adverts and Sheamus is in control and does hold number 617 armbar , that was a joke from what Chris Jericho did back on a episode of Nitro from March of 1998. Sheamus hits a clothesline which sends Miz over the top rope. With both men on the outside Miz throws Sheamus into the  turnbuckle and then hits two big boots and a clothesline in the corner. Miz then hits the most dangerous move in the history of Pro Wrestling and that's a axe handle of the top and then aplies a chinlock. Miz hits a delightful backbreaker into a neckbraker and they exchange strikes and the crowd is fully behind Sheamus. Miz then hits a running knee to the stomach and Sheamus hits a bug clubbing axe handle and a spear in the corner. He follows that up with a knee lift and a Finlay role. He also hits a Irish Curse backbreaker and Miz hits a nice DDT, but only gets two and that was a great nearfall. Miz then kicks and dropkicks him in the knee which is sound phycology as one of The Miz's Finishers is a Figure Four Leglock. Miz attempts a figure four leg lock but Sheamus gets out and misses the Brouge kick, Miz then signifies for the Skull Crushing Finale but Sheamus gets out of that and hits the Brouge Kick to get the win. **3/4 That was a decent match, with both men giving everything they had and the result made Miz still look like a threat even in defeat.

Next is a video package that airs showing the rivalry between John Cena and Bray Wyatt, which culminates at Wrestlemania XXX.. The song Legacy by Eminem really suits the match and to me, make the match feel like it's Cena's last match. I hope this Sunday, Bray Wyatt will get the win, but when Cena is involved theres always a possibilty that he might win.

Niki Bella vs Tamina Snuka

This is just a standard Divas match and both of these Divas are involved in the 13 Divas Championship Match at Wrestlemania XXX, my underdog pick for that match Is Niki Bella. This Divas match starts off with a beautiful springboard kick from Niki and she then aplies a leg scissors. She hits a headscissors which sends Tamina to the floor, but out of no where Tamina nails her with a clothesline on the floor. Tamina then hits a headbutt and I must say, Tamina has to be the most Unattractive Diva currently working for the WWE. Niki is on the comeback and hits a clothesline and a big knee to the head. Tamina hits a awsome superkick and the Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka splash of the top to get the win. * like I Said earlier in this match review and that's that it was just a standard Divas match, nothing more, nothing less.

Sadly, that was the last match of Main Event but we got footage of what happened between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar at this weeks RAW. Incase you didn't know, they teased to fight and Lesnar walked back but then Heyman ran in and Lesna clotheslined and hit the F-5. I really enjoyed that segman and that is one of the matches I am mainly looking forward to at this Sunday's Wrestlemania.

The final piece of RAW footage that was shown was between the main event no disqualification match between Randy Orton and Batista. It was a decent match, but the highlight was the ending when Daniel Bryan came and beat down Triple H with a kindo stick and a sweet looking suicide dive. The build up for the Bryan vs Triple H match to me was world class and I can't wait for the Game to bury his ass, I bet you didn't see that one coming.

Overal - 4/10

We saw a great match to open the show as we always do on Main Event. The Divas match was a normal Divas match but the video packages were world class and really got me pumped for 4 days time and that's WRESTLEMANIA XXX!

If anything, Triple H should've won the belt at Elimination Chamber. It made perfect sense that his chosen avatar is a chump (in storylines) and the guy coming in to replace won't conform, so who else but Triple H to be the face of the company, only to be knocked off his pedestal by Bryan at WM 30 in the most satisfying conclusion the storyline could want.

Then everyone wins accept the two Batista fans and the five Orton fans
