WWE Main Event - April 8th 2014

Taped from a place where WWE does strangely not want to acknowledge. The commentators for tonights edition of Main Event is the pairing of Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton.

The Shield (US Champion Dean Ambrose Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Eric Rowan)

This is the third match between these two teams with The Wyatt Family getting the win in both previous encounters. This six man tag team match starts off with Ambrose slapping the taste out of Rowans mouth before hitting a spinning back elbow of the second rope. Both Rollins and Ambrose team up to hit a double suplex on Rowan before Rowan can gain control with strikes in the corner. Harper gets his first involvement in the match by hitting a high knee and Rowan hits a belly to back suplex, but can only get a two count. Harper hits a upricut but Rollins stops his momentum by hitting a reverse sto into the second turnbuckle. Reigns gets the first hot tag of the match and he cleans house and hits a belly to back suplex, whilst Ambrose hits a sweet kneckbraker. Harper enters the Frey and hits a lovely big boot and Wyatt splashes poor Ambrose in the corner. Rowan nails a scoop slam and a sidewalk slam, Rowan doesn't do anything extraordinary but he does the basics very well. Harper and Ambrose exchange some lovely looking strikes before Harper aplies a god dam chinlock. Ambrose quickly gets out of it by hitting a jawbreaker but Wyatt stops him making the tag by nailing him with a big boot. Rowan hits a nasty knee to the stomach and Ambrose seems to be in quiet a bit of pain and is holding his ribs. It's either a real injury or great selling from Ambrose. Ambrose aplies a sleeper hold but Harper gets out of it and hits a nice upricut. Ambrose bounces of the ropes and hits a big clothesline and Wyatt hits a slam. Reigns hits a big clothesline over the top rope and Harper superkicks him over the top and then follows that up with a suicide dive which Reigns sells like the beast he is. Wyatt attempts Sister Abigail, but incredibly Ambrose counters it into a roll up but Wyatt powers out at two. Ambrose quickly DDT's him before he can get back up and Rollins connects with two dropkicks. He also connects with a suicide dive and a running flip over the top rope, which livens the crowd up. Back in the ring and Rollins hits a standing  sliced bread but only gets a two count and Wyatt hits Ambrose with a big crossbody which must have hurt the already injured ribs of Ambrose. Reigns recovers from Harpers suicide dive and hits a superman punch and Rollins hits a enzigury. Reigns hits a running dropkick of the apron and Rollins hits the newly named curve stomp and Ambrose hits the also newly named Dirty Deeds (inverted DDT) to get the win. ***3/4 After the match The Shield cut a promo where Ambrose is to hurt to talk and Rollins says," They are prepared for war" Hopefully this means there could be a War Games match down the line between Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton and Kane vs The Shield and Daniel Bryan.

Next we see the same promo we saw on RAW which is that Adam Rose Is coming, the only thing that I will remember about this promo is his theme song which is still stuck in my head. They also show some pictures of Wrestlemania xxx including the unthinkable which was the Undertakers 21-0 undefeated streak at Wrestlemania end by Brock Lesnar.

Jack Swagger vs Dolph Ziggler

Wow two high profiled matches on Main Event! I was expecting a divas match followed by a pointless tag team match, but hey that's not me complaining, I will happily sit through this match instead of a divas match. Before the match begins Colter says that "Cesaro showed his true colors on RAW." This match gets underway in quick fashion with Ziggler immediately hitting a delightful dropkick. Swagger next hits a Swagger bomb but can only get two and he is back on the attack with knees in the corner. Swagger seems very aggressive and I like it. Swagger nails a clothesline and Ziggler back body drops him over the top rope and Swagger lands hard on the floor. Ziggler is on the comeback and he hits a crossbody and strikes in the corner. Ziggler goes for a kneckbraker but Swagger counters it into a awsome chop block. Ziggler also counters but he counters the Swagger bomb and goes for a quick win with a roll up but Swagger kicks out at two. Swagger aplies the Patriot Lock but Ziggler rolls through and hits a rocker dropper for two. Swagger hits a nasty big boot and Ziggler hits a spiked DDT. Then out of no where Swagger launched Dolph high into the air and in mid flight aplies the bloody Patriot Lock and Ziggler taps. I'm not happy with the result because I am a big Ziggler mark but the match was great for the time it was given. **3/4

Sin Cara vs Alexander Rusev

You have to feel sorry for Sin Cara. He has the unfortunate duty to be squashed by Rusev, at least it wasn't Ziggler. Why couldn't they have fed Rusev Ryder again, I could watch Zack getting squashed all day long. This squash match starts off with a absolutely incredible superkick from Rusev, followed by a spinning spinebuster. He goes on to apply the Accolade to get the win in just under two minutes. * I am in a good mood and gave this a star simply because of the awesomeness of Ruseves superkick.

Overal - 7/10

This could very well be the best episode of Main Event WWE has ever produced. One great and one good match and even the squash match was watchable. I fully recommend everyone to watch the six man tag team match aswell as the Ziggler vs Swagger match and watch the Rusev squash just for the insane superkick.
