TNA IMPACT WRESTLING - April 10th 2014

We are live in Orlando,Florida for tonight's episode of Impact Wrestling and doing commentary for tonight's show is the usual pairing of Mike Tenay and Taz.

Ten man gauntlet match - winner receives TNA World Championship match at Sacrifice

This isn't a normal gauntlet match where you get eliminated and get sen to the back and another man comes down, no this is TNA so we do over the top rules and every two minutes someone comes down, basically a Royal Rumble match. The match starts off with the first two participants which are number one James Storm and number two Gunner. These two men have had quiet the rivalry as of late, heating up at the Lockdown pay per view where they competed in a great last man standing match. They brawl on the ramp before they get back into the ring where Gunner hits a big back elbow. Storm hits a enzigury but Gunner stops his momentum by hitting a followay slam. The next entrant is Bobby Roode  who goes straight to work on Gunner and hits a big clothesline. Both Roode and Storm team up and beat down on Gunner before entrant number four Bully Ray charges down to the ring. Bully cleans house but Roode and Storm hit a double suplex but Bully no sells and clotheslines them both. The next entrant is Ethan Cater the third (EC3) and he goes after Bully with strikes in the corner and the loud "Youn can't wrestle" chants start. Bully slaps Carter and Roode hits the Double R Spinebuster of DOOM! Roode conects with a series of rights in the corner before the next entrant Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring. Lashley hits clotheslines, a spear in the corner and a nice suplex and so far is this match no one has been eliminated which is very strange. Lashley hits a kneckbraker and then goes on to try and eliminate Ethan Carter. Number seven is the monster Abyss and Bully Ray and Lashley team up to try and eliminate the monster but then all of a sudden the TNA World Champion Magnus music hits and he makes his way to the announcers table. We have a quick commercial break and when we come back Sanada the X Division Champion has entered and number nine Eric Young makes his way down to the ring where he gets to work on Abyss and the final entrant is Willow. Willow and Carter exchange strikes before Willow hits the Twist Of Fate but Spud comes down to ringside and he grabs Willows leg which gives the chance to Carter who eliminates him. Willow chases Spud up the ramp and Back in the ring Sanada hits two nice enzigurys but Abyss knocks him down with a Chokelsam and Abyss dumps Sanada out if the match. Lashley out of no where spears Abyss and Storm nails the Last Call Superkick on Lashley and from behind Lashley gets eliminated by Roode. Roode and Bully exchange strikes before Bully eliminates Roode by knocking him over the top rope with a big boot. Roode though pulls Bully out of the match Which means Bully and Roode are both eliminated. Gunner hits a high knee and Storm conects with another Last Call superkick but this time to Gunner. storm eliminates Gunner and EY skims the cat and eliminates Carter. Abyss hits a big running splash and Eric takes Storm out with a big belly to back suplex. Eric Young hits a elbow drop of the top and Storm hits a truly awsome backcracker! Storm hits a draper DDT and Young eliminates Storm. We are down to Eric Young and Abyss. Abyss hits the Shock Treatment and Young hits a dropkick of the top rope. Young clotheslines Abyss over the top rope and wins the match. After the match him and MVP talked and the point of the conversation is that Magnus will defend his World Championship against Eric Young tonight instead of the Sacrifice pay per view! ***

Number one contenders match for Knockouts Championship - Gail Kim vs Angelina Love vs ODB vs Brittany

It's good to see so many number one contenders matches considering WWE barely does any. This knockouts match starts off with a drop toe hold onto the Buckle from Brittany and Brittany and ODB exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. Gail Kim hits a dropkick and Brittany hits a hand spring elbow, Brittany is a better wrestler than i thought she would be. Love hits a clothesline and a weak sidewalk slam, she could barely lift her. ODB hits a splash in the corner and a big shoulder block. She also hits a followay slam and nips up and hits the bronco buster on poor Angelina Love. Gail conects with some vicious kicks before hitting a nice backbreaker. Gail rolls up Love but Angelina pushes her into the ropes where Velvet Sky sprays something into her and Love hits the bicycle kick to get the win and this means she gets a Knockouts Championship match at Sacrifice. *3/4

Backstage is MVP, The Wolves and BroMans. BroMans say the Robbie E isn't hear tonight which means the match is canceled. MVP says that its not canceled and if Robbie E doesn't show up then DJZ will take his place!

Next we have a really long and boring in ring segment between Bully Ray and Dixie Carter where they discuss why Bully Ray double crossed her at Lockdown. Bobby Roode comes out and attack Bulky from behind and before Bully could put Roode throug a table Roode ran away. This will lead to a match between Bobby Roode and Bully Ray at Sacrifice I hope.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Match
The BroMan © vs The Wolves

Robbie E didn't come out with BroMans which means DJZ (Zema Ion) will be taking his place and I have to say I really do hate the name DJZ. This Tag Team Championship match starts off with a drop toe hold from Eddie followed by a dropkick from Davey. richards connects with several hard hitting kicks before Jessie can hit a beautiful dropkick. Both members of the Wolves hit suicide dives and DJZ hits a one man flapjack. Eddie Edwards hits a insane double hurricanrana before making the tag to Richards. Richards makes me mark out by hitting a hand spring enzigury and a high collar suplex. He also conects with a running forearm in the corner and hits a dropkick of the top rope but unfortunately only got a two count. The Wolves hit one of the signatures a catapult into a kick but when they go for a cover the ref gets pulled out of the ring by Robbie E which causes a disqualification. This means the Wolves win the match but BroMans retain there Tag Team Championship. **

We get another in ring segment but this time it's from Christy Hemme. She makes Samuel Shaw come to the ring and close his eyes. But when he turns around Mr Anderson is there and he Mic Checks him and tries to put him into a van but Shaw escapes and runs away

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Magnus © vs Eric Young

Eric Young earned this match by winning the gauntlet match earlier on in this very show. This World Championship match starts off with both men exchanging strikes until Young hits a dropkick. He then struts like Ric Flair on the apron before Magnus starts working the arm which is the only time in the match he does so. Eric misses a moonsault of the top and Magnus hits a big running knee which sends Eric Young over the top rope. Eric attempts a suicide dive but in mid air Magnus hits a staggering forearm and launches him into the steel steps. Magnus hits a decent gutwrench suplex and aplies a sleeper hold. Eric gets out of it by hitting a jawbreaker but Magnus stops his momentum by hitting a big back body drop. Magnus applies a Camel Clutch and Young gets out of it by hitting a electric chair. The crowd are fully behind EY and he hits a clothesline and a awsome wheelbarrow kneckbraker! He goes up top and hits a elbow drop of the top but only gets a two count and it was a incredible near fall. Magnus though hits a big clothesline and hits the michinoko driver which also gets two. Magnus brings in the World Championship belt and the referee grabs it of him and as the ref isn't looking he hits a low blow but Young still kicks out at two. Eric tries to roll him up but only gets two and out of no where he hits a piledriver to get the win! For the first time in Eric Youngs ten year career he has won the TNA World Championship! I hate the fact that there was Close to no build up but I'm happy that EY finally won the big one. **1/2

Overal - 7/10

I generally really enjoyed this show and the crowds celebration when EY won the World Title was awesome. There was no bad matches and only a couple of silly segments but apart from that i would say this would be one of the best Impact Wrestling shows in recent memory.
