Ring Of Honor Wrestling - April 5th 2014 Tonight's edition of Ring Of Honor Wrestling is a special Road Rage edition and will feature matches from the Raising The Bar IPPV! Chris Hero vs Roderick Strong To start this match off the crowd are evenly split 50-50 which makes a for a great atmosphere. The match itself starts off with some nice matt based grappling from both men and the crowd really appreciates it, which is always nice to see. Hero hits a big boot out of no where and follows that up with a back splash, which lands hard on Strong's stomach. Hero hits a second big boot but the sound it makes is priceless and he also goes for a slingshot backsplash but Strong gets his knees up. Strong launches Hero into the barricade and also hits a belly to back suplex onto the barricade. Back in the ring now and Strong hits a decent suplex and Hero hits another nasty sounding big boot. Strong though hits a insane dropkick, I mean the height and impact it got was incredible. Storm hits a enzigury and both wrestlers exchange some nasty chops. Hero also hits a big right jab to the jaw and follows that up with a delicious one legged dropkick. Hero connects with a clothesline and several hard hitting strikes. He follows that up with a kneckbraker and nips up. He then hits a running forearm in the corner and a running knee to the head but only gets two. Storm tries to get a quick win with a backslide but also only gets two and Hero cradles him and also only gets two. They exchange some horrific chops which sound so painful and Hero bounces of the ropes and hits a nice bicycle kick. Hero hits a one armed suplex and a rolling forearm and still gets two. That starts a "This Is Awesome" chant and Strong hits a jumping knee strike and follows that up with a Sick Kick and still god Dan it only gets two in a absolutely insane near fall. Strong quickly aplies the StrongHold but Hero counters it by rolling him up but Strong kicks out at two. Hero hits three rolling forearms and a disgrace full rolling forearm to the back of the head. Hero aplies the Stretch Plumb and the referee calls for the bell but Strong didn't tap. Great way to end the match as Strong looked no pun intended strong because he didn't tap and Hero looked good because he got the win. Great match though it was Very hard hitting and well paced and was two guys busting there ass of! ***1/2 ROH Tag Team Championship Match The Young Bucks (IWJP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions) vs Red Dragon (ROH Tag Team Champions) If the Young Bucks win it will be there first reign as ROH Tag Team Champions and this match starts off with a nice springboard cross body by Nick Jackson and he also hits a nice gutbuster and Matt hits a kneckbraker onto Nick's leg. Kyle O'reilly hits a nice high knee and him and Matt Jackson exchange slaps. Nick hits a footstomp of the top and a hand spring back rake which was very amusing to see. O'reilly pushes Nick Jackson of the top rope sending Jackson down to the floor and Fish smartly goes to work on the bandaged hand on Matt Jackson. Fish connects with several strikes and Kyle gets the tag and hits a snap suplex. Matt hits a jawbreaker and a spear. Matt Jackson finally gets the hot tag and he cleans house and connects with a spin kick and a rolling back elbow. He also hits a slingshot X-Factor and Kyle goes for a running dropkick of the apron but in mid air Nick Jackson hits a absolutely awesome superkick and he then hits a 450 splash but only got two. That starts a "This Is Awesome" chant and I have to agree. Nick hits a running knee to the head in the corner and Matt hits a sliced bread and Nick hits the first of many superkicks. Kyle hits a dropkick and Fish hits a tilt the world backbreaker which is followed up with a knee to the head of the top rope. Fish hits a nice belly to back suplex and O'reilly hits a rolling forearm and Matt hits a superkick and all four men are down and the crowd are going insane. On the floor and Fish hits a running spinebuster into the barricade and to make things even better Kyle hits a running dropkick of the apron! Fish also hits a falcon arrow of the top rope but only gets a two count! Nick quickly rolls him up but also only gets two and it was a awesome near fall. Both Nick and Matt Jackson hits superkicks and Nick runs and splashes Fish over the top rope and The Young Bucks hits a springboard spiked tombstone and that still only gets two. Nick attempts a 450 splash but in mid air Kyle counters it into a triangle choke but Nick rolls him up to get the win and The Young Bucks win there first Ring Of Honor Tag Team Championship! This was anexcellent high flying match and was a great moment to see The Young Bucks finally win the ROH Tag Team Championship. **** Overall - 7.5/10 Both of the matches on this weeks edition of Ring Of Honor Wrestling were awesome matches and the lowest rated match was rated ***1/2 and when that happens you know the show is worth watching! |
