WWE NXT - June 5th 2014

Taped from Full Sail University, Orlando Florida

Welcome to this weeks NXT review, which you were either watching on the WWE Network or Sky Sports in the UK. This is the first show after last weeks incredible NXT Takeover show, which saw Adrian Neville retain his NXT Championship and Tyler Breeze defeated Sami Zayn to become the number one contender for the NXT Championship. Also, Charlotte one the vacated NXT Womens Championship. Anyway onto tonight's show!

Mojo Rawley vs Aiden English

I am not a fan of Mojo Rawley in any way shape or form. He can't wrestle and his gimmick of being hyped all the time will only be good in squash matches. For example, what happens if he goes thirty minutes with Daniel Bryan? I highly doubt he could keep up the pace. The match is a very basic one with both wrestlers hitting several clotheslines and Mojo Rawley the talented man that he is, wins with the Hyperdriver. The only thing i was happy with was the fact that it only went a few minutes. 1/2* Becuase i am in such a happy mood whilst i write this!

Bayley vs (NXT Womens Champion) Charlotte

As i mentioned earlier on, Charlotte won the vacated NXT Womens Championship at NXT Takeover in a very good match which impressed both me and most of the WWE Universe and proved that Charlotte can work. This is her first match as champion and it is a non title match against Bayley who hasn't been very relevant as of late. The match starts off with a shoulder block from Charlotte and Bayley connects with several variations of armdrags, which included a springboard one which looked pretty dam nice. Charlotte hits several strikes and nails a clothesline and applies a leg scissors. Bayley quickly gets into her comeback which consists of three clotheslines but gets distracted by Sasha Banks who is ringside. She is back on the attack and hits a reverse back elbow of the second rope and all of a sudden Summer Rae's music hits and she comes out and hugs Sasha Banks! Charlotte hits the Bow Down To The Queen to get the win. in which was a impressive Womens match. All three members of the BFF's which is Summer Rae, Sahsa Banks and Charlotte beat down on Bayley who is defenseless, until Paige and Emma come out to make the save! *** I might have rated it a bit high, but i enjoyed the after match so much because the crowd was so into it!

Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger vs Stewart Cumberland and Phillip Ghouljar

When you first read the names Stewart Cumberland and Phillip Ghouljar, i bet you had no clue who they were, which is exactly the same as me and that will probably be the only time you see the names written as this match was basically a squash match and a way to put Jordan and Dillinger into the NXT Tag Team Title picture. I am a big fan of Jason Jordan and think he has a bright future and am dam annoyed that the fact that he didn't hit a dropkick during this match because it is something special. Jordan starts this one off in control on the mat and they keep each other fresh by frequently tagging in and out. Dillinger makes me mark out when he hits a decent Butterfly suplex and also connects with several vicious chops in the corner. Jordan gets the hot tag and he hits three clotheslines and launches Ghouljar high into the air and he lands badly on the side of his head! Dillinger hits a beautiful superkick and Jordan hits a Olympic Slam to get the win, in what was a better match than i expected it to be. ** Credit to Stewart Cumberland and Phillip Ghouljar for bumping like machines to try and put over the new team.

Justin Gabriel vs (NXT Champion) Adrian Neville

As William Regal mentions during this match, these two, much like Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville, have a very similar style which should leave to a great one on one match. Gabriel has changed his gear and is now wearing some strange three quarter lengths and also wears gloves. Neville is just seven days removed from his successful title defense at NXT Takeover so this match is of course a non title match. This main event of the evening starts off with some very nice technical wrestling and a shoulder block from Gabriel. Nevile out of no where hits a hurricanrana and Gabriel hits a clothesline. Neville runs and flips off the apron onto Gabriel who is on the floor. Back in the ring and Gabriel hits a snap suplex and floats over into a gilitene which is a very nice looking move, if Gabriel wasn't so slow floating over into it. To be fair to Justin Gabriel, when was the last time you saw him in a wrestling match, poor guy. Neville hits a running forearm and a springboard dropkick. Gabriel hits a very nice bridged Northern Lights suplex which only gets a two count. Neville goes for some sort of springboard move but in mid air Gabriel nails a picture perfect dropkick. That was by far the best spot of the match, even though it does happen quiet a lot in modern day wrestling, this one looked particularly tasty. Neville hits a running dropkick into the corner and what seemed like out of no where Neville hit the Red Arrow to get the win and continue his momentum going forward. **1/4 This isn't the end of the show because the loser of the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover Tyson Kidd comes out and he says that he wants one more match at the NXT Championship and Adrien Neville accepts his offer and they shake hands. The only issue i have with this is, isn't Tyler Breeze the number one contender for the NXT Championship?

Overall - 5.5/10

This show is a definite recommended show to watch, just for the simple fact that there is a decent Womens match and a solid main event, plus it is only a hour long. My only thing to say is to skip the first match if you are not a Mojo Rawley fan like myself.
