WWE Superstars - June 19th 2014 This has to be one of the first times in at least three to four months that I have watched a episode of Superstars, but since it is now on the WWE Network I thought that they might have tried to add some star power to the show. This show is taped and you are either watching this show on the WWE Network in America or on Sky 1 in the United Kingdom on this hot Sunday morning. Niki Bella vs Alicia Fox Well Alicia Fox has had a Divas Championship match at Payback so at least this could be classified as some kind of number one contenders match or at least to try and gain some momentum heading into the Money In The Bank Pay Per View. This match starts off with Niki Bella working the arm by aplying several armbars and a armdrag. Fox the talented worker she is completly no sells and that is one thing that is missing in modern day pro wrestling and that's the use of in ring phycoligy. Fox, even though she has had her arm worked on her the whole entire match at this point aplies not one but two dam chinlocks. In between the chinlocks to Alicia Fox's credit she did hit a very nice northern lights suplex. Niki gets out of the dreaded chinlock by hitting a decent monkey flip and she is now on the comeback and hits several clotheslines. She also nails a face crusher and a dropkick. The crowd are so flat and just don't care about this match in any shape or form. Niki gets the win after she hits a Torture Rack into a backbreaker. After the match Alicia Fox takes off her wrestling boots and throws them at the referee and Niki Bella. Again with WWE its fifty fifty booking because they couldn't just have Niki go over clean they had to have Alicia Fox look strong as well. 3/4* RAW Rebound - They show highlights of the battle royal to determin who will enter the Money In the Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns won the match after lastly eliminating Russev. Its good to see some fresh faces in the main event of the Money In the Bank Pay Per View, which include Bray Wyatt and Cesaro. Jack Swagger vs Rob Van Dam This could be a very good match and does have previos storylines involved from just one month ago because Jack Swagger was in a rivalry with RVD which culmulated into a triple threat match at this years Extreme Rules Pay Per View. This match starts off with Swagger out powering Van Dam, until Van Dam conects with a running spin kick into the corner. RVD clotheslines him over the top and conects with a slingshot crossbody down to the floor. He also hits a slingshot legdrop back into the ring, but only gets a two count. Van Dam goes up to the top rope, but Swagger pushes him off which sends him all the way to the outside and hits the barricade. Back in the ring and Swagger hits a big clothesline and aplies a god dam chinlock. Van Dam gets out of it by kicking him in the head and he is now on the comeback. He hits several clotheslines and a superkick and attempts the rolling thunder but Swagger counters it in mid flight into a Patriot Lock! Van Dam doesn't tap and he gets out of it by kicking him straight into his mouth which bust's Swaggers mouth open. Van Dam conects with another spin kick and a springboard kick to the face. Van Dam goes up to the top attempting a Five Star Frog Splash but Swagger runs and jumps to the top rope and hits a belly to belly suplex! Since when do people do this on Superstars? Swagger also hits a bloody wheel barrow German Suplex! If Swagger hits moves like this on a more regular basis i may invest some money into a Jack Swagger T-shirt. Swagger attempts a Swagger Bomb but Van Dam puts his foot up and Van Dam hits a Five Star Frog Splash off the top to get the three count. *** Overal - 4/10 You can't look at the overal i gave this show and think it was a bad show because it wasn't. The Jack Swagger vs Rob Van Dam could have easily been on Pay Per View and i wouldn't of complained, the only thing i disliked about this show is the fact that Alica Fox didn't sell the arm, but if Superstars have a match like Swagger vs RVD on a regular basis then i will be watching Superstars on a regular basis! |
