This is really heartbreaking news as I was always a fan of his dating back to his Japan days.

WWE needs to put him in the HOF ASAP.

Tough break. All the best to him.

He was a local favorite, all the way back to his days as Leon "Pull Power" White in the AWA (plus his collegiate career, up the road at CU). I had a friend who was one of the little kids that White brought into the ring with him at a local AWA event, circa 1987.

They like to pick HOF'ers from different eras and territories, per year. So, I'd say there's a good chance he goes in at WrestleMania in 2017.

His WWF career was fairly forgettable and his window in WCW "only" lasted from about 1992 to 1995. He was pretty dominant during that time; almost like a 2002 Brock Lesnar push. I understand that his best work was probably in Japan. Very intimidating ring presence, IMO. Always thought his mask was cool.

Vader was one of the few heels I really liked as a kid, unless he was fighting Sting. He was big and bad in a cool way, and always looked like he could break someone in half. Even his WWF was awesome: a strong performance in the Rumble and the destruction of Savio Vega and GORILLA MONSOON the next night on Raw.

Then he just kind of did stuff for a while, became an afterthought, and then got buried and jobbed out in his last 8-10 months with the company.

I never realized how old he was. By the time he came to the WWF, he was already 40.

He absolutely should have been in the WWE HOF already

awesome runs in Japan and WCW.

His feud with Hogan in WCW cooled him off

His WWF run started well. But pissing off HBK, injuries and weight gain made it bad overall
