Jerry,

I don't know if this is a pertinant question for "ATD" but the thought hit me as I was contemplating yet another reroll to tweak an Alt... Would it be possible to have a 'bank' set up for rerolls similar to the one used in reincarnation? I plan to use the same Alt name, just adjust some basic characteristics. Perhaps this version of the bank could last through level 5 or so (I like to level at least once on an alt to see if the build works).

Thanks,
Fillet/Beet

Just a few minor questions. :)

1. DDO:EU is rated T for Teen due to Violence, Blood, Alcohol Reference and Suggestive Themes. Will there ever be an option to turn on/off blood splatters?

2. Will Handwraps ever get a graphics upgrade to show that they are flaming, frost, thundering, etc.?

3. Will the items in inventory ever be locked in place so they no longer shift around in the packs after use? (I think I may have already asked that one in Email.)

lol I think the T for teen rating is a standard reference ....while there is violence and alcohol in the game ... suggestive themes pretty much only applies to succubi and as far as i know there is no blood in DDO.

not likely they are gonna do a graphics over load to add blood let alone toggle it ...

in DDO's case the blood is from outside the game when you bash your keyboard over your head trying to figure out why there is so much lag in the shroud since DA was implemented to fix the lag issue.

Actually there is blood in the game, although it is not necessarily from the mobs that you strike. The blood is implemented through the quests area...such as the splatters on the ground in the catacombs and the hanging dead angels in Shaverath (i think thats where it is). These things will not able to be turned off without completely overhauling the game...and doing that would really turn off a lot of players...

Do the Devs have any Adventure Packs in the works that are comparable in size to Vale of Twilight or Gianthold?

How about a serious question from Maes.
Any chance of getting a toggle switch in quivers for bolts or arrows? Most ranged characters only use one, why do I have to open my quiver to get rid of these useless bolts/arrows?

Another question for the Dev's

Are there any plans on making the Monk Mountain Stance DR stack with the 20th level monk ability for DR? The current upper end of the Mountain Stance provides DR 8/- and a 20th level monk gets DR 10/epic. So there is no possible reason at this point to take the Mountain Stance. I think if they can find a way to make them stack giving the player a DR of 18/epic would possibly make it more interesting for some players. And really in the end game they are hitting for much more then 18 so it isn't that big of a issue.

I agree DR should stack like blur and displacement.

IE if i have DR5/ magic, DR3/ admantine and DR2/- and I get hit by say a wolf for 10 points it should brak down like this

damage 10-5(DR magic) = 5 damage
damage 5-3 (DR adamatine) = 2 damage
damage 2-2 (DR/-)= 0

or if the wolf had magic fang (which need to be added with druids) cast on it
damage 10-0(DR magic bypassed) = 10 damage
damage 10-3 (DR adamatine) = 7 damage
damage 7-2 (DR/-)= 5

If you have 3 different type of dr thats 3 different type so they should each need to be bypassed. Especially if they come from different sources.

edit added
Give us the GD component bags. I saw on the AH two days ago one just for soul gems. Yeah because soul gem bags have been asked for since the game came out What the Hell Turbine.

Here is my question Jerry. What exactly is different in the tech for spell component bags vs quivers and other bags?

The question stims from Tolero's response to my post on things that should be in the store other then easy buttons.

Sig,

I have a few questions for you to use if you want:

1). Will we be seeing more crafting in the style of the Mabar event? In other words, items that are simple enough to obtain, yet easily upgraded over time as your character gains levels?

2). Will VIP status continue to degrade as more "perks" become available in the store such as the new item that allows any one quest to be opened at an elevated difficulty for anyone?

3). Will the Half races ever be completed? Neither one has all of the sounds implemented, particularly the laugh, and the H-Orcs have such a hearty animation that to me indicates a lack of humor with each syllable distinctly seperated...

I will post more if any hit me.

[EDIT] Nevermind. All three of these questions seem to have been answered by the Update 8 notes discussed on the 'cast tonight.

Thank you for the quick response :D

These are all to do with the fact that they said the next 3 updates are completely end game focused and that they are looking into different ways to extend character life outside of epic and raids. SO alot of epic related questions.

Also Sig and anne .. you might want to reword my questions as they often have examples attached as to the reason i ask the question which may or may not make the question hard to pinpoint. Or perhaps i worded it weirdly .. so by no means do i expect word for word on ask the devs. Though I do believe my reasons for asking the questions are important to show there validity and how the topics might effect others who do NOT play as often as I do and fight these issues to be much much more troublesome then even I do.

1) What new developments can you talk about future plans for character life extentions? What i mean by this is Its fairly clear that increasing the lvl cap wouldnt work well ... 4 action points given at lvl 20 and epic missions being lvl 25 pretty much secures this at least to me ... What kinds of ideas are you guys flirting with for end game mechanics to help you feel "EPIC" when you dislike or find epic missions not fun?

2) Have you guys put any thought into increasing or adding in some cases seal drops and scroll drops to chests in epic raids and end quests (tide that turns eg) ... While i have seen a seal drop in epic dragon recently for the first time ... I have never seen a epic seal drop in Big Top or Tide that Turns. The grind for epic items for anyone who is not a hardcore elitist ... seems to be far greater then the benefit given by these items as a whole.

EG- I have done over 100 tide that turns and well over 100 bargain bazzars and still dont have even one epic house D item. Over 100 big tops and over 50 partycrashers and snitch ... and only 1 epic antique greataxe where i had to buy my scroll.

It seems that perhaps a 20th run system like the raids have should be added to epics .. so every 20 runs of the end quests you get a list of seals and shards and a 1% chance to get a epic item from that series. Do you think this could be in the future for epic content? Even if only as a incentive to get more people to TRY epic content.

3) will end game content see epic versions? Since epic missions are lvl 25 there wouldnt be a big difference between sins on elite (lvl 22) vs epic .. but since elite doesnt offer a chance to upgrade your belt or necklace with colour slots ... it would be worth it to try at least some of them just for the gear it would produce.

4) Gianthold Epic was something we saw for a brief second ... then it fell off the face of the earth ... is it just being balanced or is it never gonna happen? Also when is it that we can expect to see some epic harbor or epic versions of free to play missions. Personally i think WaterWorks epic sounds like the coolest thing since sliced bread .. But even non free classic packs like Tangleroot and Catacombs ... quests that us folks that have been around since launch remember loving for the challenge and entertainment value ... The gear from these quests is usually ignored with few exceptions at level due to the fact that you out level there value fast. Epic versions of these items would be a ton of fun as would the challenge of trying to complete them ... HELLO EPIC MUCK ... How about epic thernal east ...Now that is epic.

5) Just for a bit of a change from my epic questions ...

Is it likely that DDO will ever do a race change ritual for those who absolutely hate to TR?
I would gladly pay 800-1200 turbine points for the ability to turn my lvl 20 fighter dwarf into a lvl 20 fighter half orc or half elf or human or warforged.

I like many people dislike the TR system and feel the bonus feats and extra points are not worth the grind it takes to get back to end game... especially with the heavy grind required for epic items (see above for information) I was really really happy when you guys added alignment changes outside of TRing ... Race change is something i have always found was a option that would have me dumping $ into the DDO store as I change my mind about what i want from builds alot (i cannot even tell you how many times i have gone back and forth on dark and light monks alone let alone defender and kensai)

6) I love pumpkin head .... when are we gonna get the pumpkin head skinnable hat?
Also as a personal I would love you guys if halloween event style side option.
An armor or Helmet skin that did the headless horsemen style (shows no head maybe gives anti vorpal - not death block but no vorpal - as its bonus effect) or the flaming skull ala ghost rider/Scorpion (mortal kombat)
Even with no bonus i would drop 150-250 points for a flaming skill head or a pumpkin head skin.

Sig,
I know you mentioned on the show that you are going to ask intimidate questions.
I want to know if it's bugged or not. It doesn't seem like it works like it used to at all.
It doesn't seem to last for it's full duration once something IS intimidated, sometimes only one or two seconds. Plus, on successive intimidates it often doesn't appear to affect the mobs at all.
I know Anne has experienced similar problems. Think we can get them to admit there is an issue or unknown "feature"?

Sig-

I am getting caught up past show and just get to 198 ask the devs :)
I am glad to hear my questions made the cut, but I think the Bacon question got everyone derailed.

Currently you can purchase food (hp) or drink (sp) to increase the rate that you recover (while in the bar).
I would like to see some food that would make it faster and/or do both at the same time (save space in backpack)...

Thanks again- really enjoy the show and the work the group does making the show-

Just a thought..... I have seen a lot more true reincarnations running around lately ( many who don't know how to play their character, wtf ), their is a blue graphic for TR's, what do you think of making a double TR character have the same graphic but different color (green)? Kind of a status symbol.

Just a note on editing questions.

I do tend to edit the questions before sending them along to the Devs. The main reason is for brevity, I try to boil them down to a direct question or a "what do you think of this idea" type item. I tend to leave out background but not always. My main reason is just to make it easy for them to select questions and provide answers. If there are some nuances or good follow ups I do those during the show. Sometimes I edit them to try and make it more palatable. So instead of "X sucks when are you going to change it?" I'll ask, "What do you think of changing X to be more like Y" or "What has been the response from the fans to feature X?" and let them discuss the negatives they have heard.

If anyone is curious about the whole process I do it like this....

1. I collect all questions.

2. I select about 20 to send to turbine, trying to pick ones from as many people as possible and covering a range of topics. I try to pick questions I think they can answer or will have something to say about other than. "We don't have anything to announce." Though if a question is asked often enough I include it just so folks can get that answer "officially" I'll also add a couple of my own if I think there is a burning question unasked or I have some crunchy think I want to find out about.

3. I send my 20 questions to Turbine along with some alternates and they determine which ones they will answer and then pick out the dev's that can best address them on the show.

4. Then we set a time that works for the staff and us to record the session (which is why its generally not done live.) I hear the answers themselves for the first time when were recording.

5. We do a little editing just to clean up any tech issues and put it on the show as a segment.

My philosophy is the best questions are ones they can give interesting answers to and that I'm not there to try and trick or cajole them into any info they don't want to put out there.
