Hey once again DDO cast, I made a build on the Monk forum here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=304286

Sir Stun-a-lot is one of the biggest debates I had in my head. Why? Race. Monks are like bards, they benefit from most any race and can truly be mastered no matter which race.

I finally decided on Half-Elf. Versatility, better DC's, a good str/wis maxing, and just a "ultimate" well-rounded character added to Monk well.

I had questions/feedback on this, and maybe a few questions to throw out which maybe the DDO Cast could tackle in a round table?

What makes people skip on Half-Elf?

Would Half-Elf max better (versatility, +2 DC fighter dil), than say Half-Orc (for +1-2 hit/dmg), Dwarf/Warforged (Con, 12 AP +3 DC) in a Str/Wis build?

Is 43 DC Stunning Fist. 36-39 Stunning Blow DC good enough (RELIABLE) for Epics?

AND LAST, but not least - Would you be a Half-Elf (if you could) in real life Sigtrent? Not feeling the love from ya man, always hear you dissing the looks :(

Thanks in advance, hope this isn't too much :P

I have a thing about half elves... though in DDO I'd say they are one of my favorite races mechanically, so much to offer!

In PnP games my issue is just world building, why can elves and men interbreed but not dwarves or halflings or what not? The only answer I can think of is Lord of the Rings had a half elf in it. I just want some consistent sense of how interbreeding works in such a world and they rarely address that. Half elves also often kind of blow in PnP for 3.0/3.5 .

Still, one of my favorite RP characters (Gabriazar the eternal bard) is a half elf.

Now if I could just be a DDO race... I'm going elf! Longevity FTW! But I would hang with humans because elves tend to be kind of self absorbed in fantasy worlds.

I'll take a look at the build. I don't see why you wouldn't want to make a stunning half elf monk, it has some nice advantages and nice even stat distribution which is good for monk. Now if you want stunning blow and stunning fist, I do like half orc for the high starting strength without a high cost. That's how I did mine but honestly his AC is kind of lame for a monk since I went with just enough dex and wis.

Ya, I don't much like the half elf looks after trying to make a few. They just look kind of plastic like. You can get some nice asian features on the females, but the men just look strangely baby-faced. They look their worst in the examine window for some reason. That doesn't stop me from having half elves, I've got two (A barbarian and a wiz/rogue) and will probably make more. The dillitante feats are just super fun to build with.
