re: shroud puzzles - Heres a very early forum post on how to solve them. Its the same method Rizz was describing for 3x3s and 4x4s but differs on the 5x5s. The 5x5s as described here use the same method and then have a reference for which buttons in the top row to hit based on the pattern in the bottom row. One handy trick for memorizing the patterns - they are reciprical - ie unless the bottom row is symetrical the key for the top row is flipped left to right of the solution for the flipped bottom row (it may help to look at the pictures when thinking about that).

and as a bonus theres a demonstration on how to solve the circle puzzle a few posts down in the same thread.

re: red dragonscale armor - you only need 20 FRDS (flawless red dragonscales) not 25. You will aslo need a white, blue, or black dragonscale armor, a shard of the red dragon, and 20 epic dungeon tokens (which if you pull all 20 FRDS yourself you will easily get just from running the raid). Red dragonscale armor is, along with the epic marilith chain, the highest DPS armor in the game. Theres a few advantages and disadvantages compared to the marilith chain though. First, marilith chain is medium armor - that means you cant use it with evasion and WF can't wear it. Red dragonscale can be made as a docent, light, medium, or heavy armor so you can pick according to your flavor. However, the extra damage from red dragonscale armor is fire damage - and many monsters are immune and resistant to fire damage, particularly at higher levels. Marilith chain's extra damage is a seeker bonus which means it applies to all critical hits (again there are monsters immune to this damage, but the list is considerably shorter). Marilith chain also does not stack with a bloodstone (but it does with the cove exceptional seeker trinket).

If you want to shorten the grind for getting FRDS try farming for epic chronoscope scrolls. You can trade the 5 abishi scrolls for FRDS pretty easily (at least you can on khyber). On average you'll probably get a FRDS about once every 4-5 epic dragons (though in my experience they come in bunches).

On a personal note, my ranger (an Orcane archer) likes red dragonscale armor.
