I hereby invite the entire DDO community, from ALL SERVERS of Eberron proper to our Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11, 2011 !! * If you do not already reside on Ghallanda, all you need to do is roll a fresh toon on Ghallanda... contact me privately for precise instruction if necessary. This is for our brave soldiers, I hope to see some of you there!! /Salute WHEN: The Tyrs Paladium guild's Veterans Day Ceremony is held each year on November 11th on Ghallanda. This year the ceremony commences on FRIDAY, November 11th, precisely at 3 PM EST and again at 10:00 PM EST. WHERE: We will meet this year on the Ghallanda server, in House Deneith, in the Temple of the Sovereign Host. I've created a minimap for those who may be newish to the game and not know where it is: WHY: We will be honoring the brave men and women from the armed forces of the United States, as well as honoring those from all peaceful nations that we are proud to call our friends. This is a worldwide event. In DDO, we share this unique bond, regardless of server, guild, player level, player skill or lack thereof. DEDICATION: We will be dedicating this multi-server event to the victims of 9/11. Those who worked in the towers, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and on Flight 93 over Pennsylvania, the first responders, Fire, Police, EMTs, Coast Guard, all the civilian volunteers, and others far too many to mention. --------------------------***-------------------------- THE CEREMONY: We will begin our ceremony with a short poetry recital, proceed with a "Parade of Colors," view two short custom videos created by the Tyrs Paladium guild (be sure to have your browser of choice open in the background, ready to cut CTRL-C & paste CTRL V the links in to view with the group), then end our ceremony with our unique version of the "21 Gun Salute", honoring veterans and veteran organizations, and those we've lost throughout the World. Feel free to wear your most COLORFUL outfits!!! The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces, and from other peace-seeking nations throughout the World. Please be respectful, as some who come, have lost family and friends and appreciate our moment of shared-silence, remembrance, and brotherhood. Other nations use various designations such as "Poppy Day" or "Armistice Day" instead of Veterans Day. We openly welcome the Euro community to join us, as well as any non-American, non-European that finds value in what we will be doing. Our guild's last two Veteran's Day ceremonies were made public, and we were humbled by the response each time. This year, we continue our mission, and seek the support of anyone who has a desire to show their support of the troops from ALL PEACEFUL NATIONS, together with your fellow gamers we've spent so much time with playing with. Like last year, the video stream of our entire event will be sent to my long time buddy Jim Leary and his unit in Kabul, Afghanistan, who will in turn ensure it gets passed around to his many, many brothers and sisters serving in harms way. --------------------------***-------------------------- We highly recommend that you give a little bit of your time and resources to your local community's veteran's association/organization if you are able. Veterans and their families can benefit directly in various ways. One of my favorite organizations set up to support the victims of 9/11 was this one set up BY the victims of 9/11. This year we'll also be sending our video to the nonprofit organization "Families of September 11", a nonprofit organization founded in October 2001 by families of those who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Membership is open to anyone affected by the events of September 11, be they family members, survivors, responders, or others as well as those who support their mission. The group has two goals: To support families and children by offering updated information on issues of interest, access to resources, relevant articles, and advocacy to raise awareness about the effects of terrorism and public trauma. To champion domestic and international policies that respond to the threat of terrorism including support for the 9/11 Commission Recommendations, and to reach out to victims of terror worldwide. --------------------------***-------------------------- Feel free to share our experience with others, so that the hearts and souls of the soldiers we hold within can be appreciated by the masses. God bless, and hope to see a few of you drop by. Sgt. J Leary Last years event: 2010 Multi Server Veterans Day Event2010 Multi-Server Veteran's Day Event *** New!
