Hi folks,

We have some good news for you. We have two copies of the indie point and click adventure game, Knights in Shining Armor, up for grabs!

To win one, all you need to do is make a post in this thread to say hi. Obviously it'd be good if you then stuck around and joined our happy community, but a single post in this thread would be enough to enter you.

You have until the May 27 to say hi. Check back after then, because the winner will be notified by personal message (PM) though this forum.

We wish you the best of luck!

Didn't even know you had this forum - so the contest served that purpose for me at least. Looking forward to peeking around more and just created my account. :)

Hi!

I've messed with some forum software before, but never implemented it.
I do think forums are great ways to keep current games in the news and discussed though, and an easy way to find older topics that may contain helpful information on games though.

Thanks for having us, WaltzIT.

@Coffee - I managed to (with some help) get a forum up for my online game, and it wasn't too hard, but it's sadly under-utilized. That and a story archive too.

Forum: http://makyo.com/KOTL_Forums/index.php

Story: http://kotl.org/eFiction/index.php

If linking like that is not accepted, feel free to beat on me and remove 'em. :)

But, mostly what I've noticed is for me personally, it's been hard to keep activity up on either of those locations. Maybe part of it is because it's all linked to an online game, and for people to communicate, well - maybe it's just quicker and easier to do it in real-time on the game. About the only thing our forums really get used for is for ideas and feature requests, and the story archive for stories bigger than a couple of paragraphs (the game client actually has a built-in story, news, idea and notes board, but they cycle out content every 2 weeks).

Hopefully you get more consistent activity over here, but the contest was a good way to drive some traffic in this direction. :)

Chalgyr,

Feel free to link to your own blog, I know some forums are anti 'self promotion' or whatever, but I find such policies unfriendly.

I'd certainly like to see this site grow a community. We work hard here to try and provide gamers a good service, and it would be nice to see people appreciate the work we do by keeping an eye on us and saying hi once in a while :-)

Thanks. :)

Those links are for my online MUD - basically text online D&D for people who are interested in it. My wife and I have been running it about 11 years now. Popularity has taken a hit though over the years - probably a good topic for a blog article at some point: the effect on Graphic MMOs on text-based games. heh

That being said, I think Owen would make a spectacular Bond.

LOL - give it time. I'm sure I'll say or do something else that requires you to break it out sooner before later. :)

Here to say "hi"! I admit I joined the forums because of the added incentive that I might win a game, but I love chatting about games so I hope to have some good conversations with you all!

LOL@Oodelally

I'll 'try' harder. Now... if only we had a club, to use on the glass case, so we could get the other club out. Hm...
