Vanheims away from home for the weekend, so he's requested an extension in case he is unable to submit his turn while he is on the road. I've given him 24 hours initially, and will give him another 24 if he needs it. |

I noticed we were getting close to the turn processing and Mictlan hasn't yet posted, so I've extended it 12 hours just in case he's been delayed for some reason. Stales are no fun :-) |

Sorry for the stale guys, I submitted my turn a couple of times to the llamaserver but it just didn't seem to want to accept it? |

It will be interesting to see if Mictlan can take Van's capital in time. From what I can see, Ashdod has a bunch of solo SCs and a small (but mighty) army running around, so he is unlikely to be able to successfully siege either my capital (which Mictlan owns) or Mictlan's capital (which he has now captured the province for), so unless Ashdod wanders down and beats off the force laying siege to Van's capital it is only a matter of time until the mighty Mictlanese win IMO. |

Mictlan now owns three capitals, as of turn 30. They need to hold them for three complete turns, so if at the end of turn 32 (e.g. when we get the turns for turn 33) he still has three, then its good game and thanks for coming :-) I would like to apologise to Ashdod for collapsing so pathetically, and thereby possibly costing him the game. Although Mictlan did execute a might fine bless rush, it has to be said :-) |

Do we need to play this out? Someone needs to apply 500+ siegepower (900+ if you pick the wrong target) and successfully crack a capital either this turn or next, depending on how jimbo wants to count it. Then you have to successfully storm on the following turn. I can summon more defenders everywhere, gateway 100 troops next turn, put 10 penetration boosted soul slay spammers anywhere they're needed... and soul slay is not the best deploy-anywhere tool I have against giants/thugs/scs either. |

I'm fine with conceding. There's no way I can crack those capitols. Good job and congratulations to Shadrach! |

At the risk of responding seriously to a flippant remark: Oh, please. Give the other three nations some credit for screwing themselves. It was never in your power to win or lose the game for them. You did way, way better than Vanheim, and maybe even better than Caelum would have done if I had attacked them first (although storm would have been infinitely more effective on defense than it was on offense). Ashdod should be apologizing to me, or at least kicking themselves, for waiting around for everyone to attack Mictlan before joining, instead of moving quickly against Vanheim or even Caelum. This game is about as perfect an example as you can get of how the whole world can be on your side (or at least attacking the nation that you want them to attack) and you can still lose because you didn't pick the right targets and grow your nation fast enough. Dominions is not exactly a war game, but it's not a popularity contest either. I'm kind of annoyed at this game for various reasons that probably don't even have much to do with Dominions in the end, but you did fine jimbo and were a great admin. gg all, and hopefully you got at least as much as I did out of it. |

I agree that Jotunheim did fine defending against the rush as far as I could tell. And I certainly made some miscalculations, although none so severe that I feel like kicking myself over them. Shadrach, I would suggest that you just enjoy your victory.

Van is OK to concede too (as of course am I). I'll send Caelum a PM to confirm, but I suspect he will be too. If I had a do-over, I think I'd try pulling my guys back into the forts and cranking up my construction to kit my dudes out. I had in excess of 250 gems available, and I think you start getting supply items from Con2 now so I could partially mitigate the whole supply thing. Then at Con4 thug some dudes out and give it a shot. Good game Shadrach, and well deserved win. It was fun playing with you, I'd be keen to do so again in the near future :-) |

Sorry for the late reply, I had very spotty internet this weekend. I'm fine with concession, I cant stop anything. Thanks for letting me step in, and hope to see you all in a future game. |

And with that, we will officially close out the game with Shadrach as the winner, following a very successful implementation of a Mictlan bless rush. After this game, it is clear to me that I had never previously really faced a true bless rush by someone who knew how to make it work, which is a valuable lesson. Now to apply it to future games! |
