Hello, So as the topic says our man Gordon Overkill has pulled out of his position as LA Man i frolicking fledglings. Perminant position since he is having long term family trouble, but that also means this isn't a case of pulling out because you are loosing... Man has been Turtling away most of the game, and has a small core empire that is very highly developed and 100% crenelated (castle'd). There's another small guy (Atlantis) that has been raviged by war, but the other 4 players are all significantly larger than man, and around the same size as each other. None of us has felt like touching man with a 10 foot pole all game, though, what with the castles. Couple turns ago the late game hit in earnest. Caelum put up the nexus, and then proceeded to get gang-banged. Even though he doesn't border Caelum, Man joined the gang-bang enthusiastically. So now Man has a core territory and a second decent chunk of territory which is completely discontinuous with his main empire. Finally this turn Bogarus put up astral corruption, and it seems to have taken the Nexus down. We have yet to see if this will change the gang-bang dynamics, since it looks like Caelum is past the point of recovery. We also don't know if this death-global will last longer than the last one. I know that Man has bootstrapped blood, so the corruption is a bit less crippling for that. PM me or Raiel, or post on our main thread if you are interested. Preferably not a hard core veteran. |

Very good description of the situation. The position will be interesting for a newbie who wants to experience end game without having the big pressure of being a major. You are not "expected" to win, but you can have a lot of end-game fun and many diplomatic options are open as a result of the long-standing neutrality of that Nation. |
