I stealth-extended it. Too tired to finish my turn tonight. Enjoy at least another 12h (we'll see if i get a chance tomorrow morning).

I still don't see a shinuyama turn. I'm going to throw one more day on the timer, and if there's no shinuyama turn received by the time it hosts, we'll need to decide what's happening with this game.

(Yes I know my turn isn't in - I like to get the reminder emails when i'm checking to see if other people have gotten a turn in or not).

Sorry, I have been indisposed. I am unlikely to get anythingbut a very simple turn in, so let me stale if I miss the deadline and I'll attempt to pay due dilligence to the next turn.

I have working internet again. No clue what happened (nor does AT+T seem to know, oh boy). My turn is in.

Good to see that Al Khazim bounced back from that being dead thing. I guess casting Mass Flight is more of an ironic gesture when the other guy castes it before you.

Anyway I'm ready to call it an Atlantis win, but I'll hang out if Squirrelloid still has a few more mouse traps he'd like to see go off.

No no, i think that was all the exciting surprises. Its going to be more of the same, except with more brute force because i'm not bound to teleport everything anymore.=P

So I would be happy to accept concessions at this point.

FWIW, I have 4 capitals, a 5th one under siege, and I think Ermor is starting to get an inkling of the force I could apply to his capital in a couple turns.

Sorry I staled. I was ill earlier in the week and have had to spend the last few days catching up.

I am happy to play a few more turns, as I want to practice a few things you only get the opportunity to try with advanced research.

I decided I cant be bothered.  Let me know if you would like Shinuyama set to AI.

Given you were the only reason we were still playing, I think that means we can declare Atlantis the victor (Ermor has already expressed a willingness to conceed after all).

And oh good, I was going nuts with all the micromanagement in this turn =P

Anyway, if anyone has any objections to that result, post something. Otherwise I'll declare the game over shortly before host time.

Ok, game is declared over with an Atlantian win with both other remaining human nations (Ermor, Shinuyama) conceeding.

No longer will the insane endgame micro dominate your evenings.

So, i subbed into a powerful underwater position with virtually no land holdings, and a lot of material locked behind sea of ice.

I also found myself with dom10 and a pile of forts with temples.

Strategies:
(1) Raid, especially temples.
-I was basically immune to raiding, with a fort in every province. My enemies were not so lucky.
-With my powerful dominion, killing enemy temples meant I'd be able to push their dom back. In particular, Shinuyama had virtually tiled their territory with temples, most of which were unforted.
-Raiding also netted me yet more gem income, which i could burn through at a frightful rate when i got down to it.

(2) Take and Hold
It wasn't enough to transitorially raid provinces - I needed to hold land, build forts and temples, and establish staging areas for an offensive war. Doing this across Sea of Ice is hard.
-Teleporting mages, Gate Stoned armies, and Boots of teh Planes to bring an Army of Gold caster let me instantly fortify positions
-Because my raiders were mage-thugs, they could build labs as necessary so my air-dropped army could unload the gate stone and boots of the planes through the lab into the waiting arms of yet another army. I wasn't air dropping armies offensively, i was dropping them defensively on lands I'd already siezed.

(3) Focus
Choose one enemy, apply overwhelming force. Because shinuyama was the best raiding target, had sufficient capitals under their control for me to win, and had the weakest standing defense in most of those capitals, they were the logical target. Virtually all my effort was directed at them.
-It took time to build up enough troops and mages to make a real attempt at their capital. So i focused on consolidating my hold on their unforted lands first.
-I confess, I underestimated the strength of the Jotunheim defenders. But losing the first storming didn't notably weaken my position.
-Forcing Ermor to come to me to fight was advantageous, as I could assume a defensive posture against them even as I was aggressing against shin. In particular, armies advancing couldn't rely on dome protection, and I had great army-whacking spells.

(4) Dom-spread!
Ok, more of a side strategy, but i started pumping out juggernauts mostly because i could, and because my dom advantage meant I could eventually win by domkill if i invested in it. And once i had most of my astral pick mages out of the water, my s gems didn't have (too many) better uses. (Ok, i blew a ton fighting with shinuyama for control of his magic being hordes during the successful storming - which I will note is one of the more muddled and confusing battles i've had the pleasure of watching).
